appearance /

► delilah has a hexagonal face shape, with prominent cheekbones, a slim jaw and rounded chin. she also has a cute button nose and quite the set of teeth, which makes for a bright smile even if she doesn't think it's the prettiest thing about her. her natural hair colour is dark brown — pretty much black — but she frequently dyes it a sandy blonde colour and wears it long with a full fringe and usually worn out, however sometimes she likes to put her hair into braids when she wants to feel fancy. her skin is fairly pale and actually pretty clear, since she doesn't tend to wear makeup very often. when she does wear makeup though, she tends to have a very simple look; all she needs is bb cream, eyeliner, mascara and lip tint. she loves to draw henna on herself, and is almost always seen with a henna design on her skin. she has single lobe piercings on both of her ears, though she often likes to pair them with ear cuffs.

 

        

 

fashion sense /

► if her regular fashion sense were to be summed up on one word, that word would be comfort. she has only ever owned one dress in her life, and she has long since grown out of that dress. nowadays, most of her wardrobe involves oversized hoodies and sweaters, some of which used to belong to her brothers and had passed down to her, paired with either jeans, shorts or leggings. she owns all types of jeans and shorts, ranging from skinny to distressed to boyfriend jeans, and even a few pairs of jeggings for when she feels like a lazy day in. most of her shorts follow the same style as her jeans, though obviously shorter. when it comes to footwear, she mainly sticks to a wide variety of sneakers, canvas shoes and the occasional pair of ballet flats, which again most of which came from her brothers (and she's somewhat surprised that she fits into them). the only types of heels that she ever wears would be sneaker wedges, but even then she doesn't own many pairs of heeled shoes since she complains about them hurting her feet (and besides, she's already tall enough without them). as for accessories she's quite minimalist, however she does like to wear thin chokers sometimes, and she has a [LEATHER JACKET] from her youngest elder brother, jake, which she often wears when she goes out at night.

elaboration /

► delilah is definitely a friendly, charming young girl. she gets along well with people, and she loves meeting and getting to know new people. she has a generally positive outlook on life, and she often expresses the plethora of goals and dreams that she has. despite it sounding perhaps cheesy, she believes in the saying you only live once, hence she always wants to try and learn new things, whether it be an odd ice cream flavour or going bungee jumping. with constant thoughts circling through her head, she's good at spurting out pretty clever comebacks and jokes when the time calls for them, and she often makes her peers laugh. she also has a creative flair, which can be seen when she's drawing henna on herself (or others), or when she's experimenting with different types of drink mixes. delilah is described as being 'the life of the party', and she's a fun person to be around.

► while she does appear to be happy-go-lucky and carefree, these traits don't come without some hardships. though she's sociable she tends to observe the people she's with, and it often leads her having thoughts as to if people actually like her and they're not all just putting on a facade for her sake as it's happened before. because of her confidence, she doesn't take criticism very well, and hearing it can sting for her. she also has a habit of being very impulsive and flighty, and though she doesn't like to admit it she's scared of commitment. when she was younger she used to be rather submissive and quiet, however she's long since grown out of it. one thing she hasn't grown out of is her sensitivity, which somewhat ties into her ability — or lack thereof — when it comes to taking criticism. she'll let things bottle up and even the slightest provoking can cause her to have a breakdown and become overwhelmed with emotions.

► delilah was definitely not like other girls. as cliché as it sounds, it seemed like gospel to her, especially with how she was brought up. she was the only female in the household, and lived with her father and three older brothers: lucas (송진영), sebastian (송규영), and jake (송대영). her mother and father had a divorce when she was young, and her mother moved far away soon after. being the only girl in an all-male household definitely had a major influence in the way she grew up; whether it was for the best or for the worst she still isn't quite sure.

making friends in america when she was little was a useless goal, seeing as all of the girls thought she was weird for not wanting to play princesses and fairies, and the boys didn't want to catch girl cooties from her. the way her father brought her up was also quite traditional, and she often ate her lunch alone and far away from the other children for fear that she'd be judged for what she ate. of course people did catch glimpses of the food she brought to school, making comments on how gross and weird it was. they also picked on her whenever she used chopsticks, and of course the rude comments came with it. she was an outsider in her school while living in america, and it didn't change much when her family decided to move to korea at the tender age of 5 years old.

things didn't seem much better for her in her supposed 'home country' of south korea either; delilah felt what she would later describe as ism, with her father insisting that she find someone to marry and start raising babies before she's 30. of course she was a rebellious little girl, and it would be hard for her to find a willing husband anyway, since most of the guys thought she was a bit too 'out there' for their liking. she did manage to make a few friends in high school, which kept her happy for the most part. during her late high school years she started socialising with her school peers, however got herself caught up with the 'wrong' group according to the rest of the school, who always went out to clubs and had studies in a low position on the priority list. she didn't care though, the atmosphere made her filled with energy, and even if some mornings after weren't worth remembering she still didn't regret the good times she had.

her father eventually discovered this 'wild' behaviour of hers, and considering how strict she was brought up he promptly kicked her out of the house. luckily enough her brother jake was willing to let her move in with him until things improved for her. she ended up staying there for a while, being jobless at the time and not having anywhere else to go. after much consideration and discussion with her brother, she decided to make the move to melbourne, australia. it was quite an emotional farewell, jake offering to pay for her flight, something she was ever so grateful for. they shared a long sibling embrace at the airport, and before she knew it she was on the plane to a new city, a new country, and a new life.

the youngest of delilah's 3 older brothers, the small between these two helped them become close. he welcomed her into his arms (and his flat) when her dad kicked her out, and he always offered a bed to rest and a hot meal at the end of the day. he paid for delilah's flight to melbourne and she promised to pay him back. (she almost has, if only her brother would tell her when he switched banks)

final words / i hope you like my character!! i also live in australia (WA to be exact) and i love how the story's set in this beautiful nation of ours!! i also find that australia is somewhat underrated(?) when it comes to the setting of stories on this site so i'm glad you're setting it here ; u ; also i've never had a girl x girl relationship in terms of my character so i hope that how i've portrayed the relationship between the character is okay ;; feel free to alter it a bit to fit your character more if you want ^^ another thing– i was planning to give her one of the plotlines, but it didn't fit her personality so i changed it, and i apologise if anything's a bit messy ;; i'll be sure to fix anything you need me to asap!
