Little Daisy at first sight: Hae Ra is very quiet and shy. That's just how she is. She's not loud and in your face. If she's embarassed for any reason, her cheeks and nose turn a wild shade of pink and burn to the touch. She doesn't like to be the center of attention.  She loves giving back to her community by participating in fundraisers at her school. She loves to read. Her life revolves around literature (and fulfilling her dream of becoming an idol of course). She's always curled up in a comforable corner reading some epic fantasy novel. She loves coming up with ideas for just about everything but never likes to get recognition for them because she hates the attention that comes with it, she prefers to share the spotlight with others. She's more paitient that the average human being should be. She has paitience with herself and with others. She knows that each person reaches their highest potential at different points in life, things should never be rushed. Paitience is the only way to completely harness one's true potential. Hae Ra is a curious person, she loves to explore different things like music, food, clothing (she is how she found her love for 50's-60's American clothing style). She always has a new things that she's discovered on the internet or shopping around Seoul. When she's passionate about her new discovery she can never stop talking about it.

But even Daisies have bruises: And of course with every sweet girl comes some qualities that in a perfect world one would never have. Hae Ra is an awkward person. It takes some effort on her part to make friends because she often doesn't respond well to the friendly efforts of others. She forgets what to say in certain situations. For example, she'll say "Thank you" when someone else had said "Good Morning". She dreads meeting people because she's afraid her awkwardness will kick in. This girl is very messy. She oftens misplaces things and doesn't find them until after a couple of months. Her room has things on the floor, her closet is a disaster. The only thing about her room that is organized is her bookshelf, because books are life. She's picky in a lot of different aspects. She can be quite picky with food but she tries not to let that be too transparent since she knows its considered rude to be picky with food that is given to her. She's picky with her clothing and where she buys them and she's also picky on what kind of friends she has. She makes sure that her friends compliment her personality and help her become better, even if it means she has to stop talking to some people that she'd met previously. Hae Ra is naive, she doesn't really know the ways of the world and how horrible it can actually be so she tends to put her trust in people way to easily.

▸ Mother — Shim Hyun Joo (53) /Current Social Sciences Professor @ Seoul National University, Formally of Stockholm University  / Smart, practical, friendly / Hae Ra's mother always encouraged her to read and expand her imagination as an escape from the harshness of reality.

▸ Father — Kim Kyu Sang (54) / Designer & Architect for Ikea /Workaholic, business-savy and quiet / Hae Ra and her older brother are a little estranged from their father since their parents divorce when she was 6 and he was 8. She does come to Korea from Sweden from time to time to see his children. He is now married to a Swedish native, but they have no children together.

▸ Older Brother — Kim Hyun Nam (21) /Training to  become an actor under SM C&C /funny, social and passionate / They are as close as siblings can be. She's always encouraging her to break out of her little shell and explore, he's extremely protective of Hae Ra (any boy that wants to go out with her has to pass his "test" with flying colors).

▸ Older Brother's BFF and Hae Ra's crush — Lee Tae Yong (21) /Current Idol under SM Entertainment /totally out of Hae Ra's league / They are actually quite friendly and sometimes get to hang out with him if Hyun Nam invites her to their outings. She wishes that she were closer to him, but her shyness (and his) prevent that from happening.

BACKGROUND : 

Kim Hae Ra, or Hazel as she is sometimes called, was born March 14, 1997 in Stockholm the capital of Sweden. 5 years before her birth, her father had been offered the job of a lifetime, being the primary designer for Ikea, a Swedish furniture store. It required him to take his new wife whom he had just married to Sweden. Hae Ra's mother also found a job she loved in Sweden. Her older brother was born three years later in 1995 and she two years later in 1997. Differences in ideolgies caused her mother to take her two kids and move back to Korea. Shortly after moving back, her parents officially divorced. She spent her elementary, middle school and high school being educated at the Seoul Foreign School along with her brother. In all of those years she never really thought about singing or dancing. In fact, up until that point she had always dreamt about going to New York and working for a publishing company and maybe even writing her own book.  In  Fenruary 2014, at the age of 17, after a particularly rough day at the Seoul Foreign School, (which included getting her period without having a sanitary pad handy during P.E, having her awkwardness rise up again when she stuttered her way through reading that history text aloud in class and having her locker being all stinky by the end of the day because some freshman, whose locker was two down from hers, decided to leave his lunch there for the third day straight)  she was scouted by a recruiter from rbw entertainment, who saw her potential as a star with her beauty and tenderness and who initially sought her out to be a model, a company she had never heard about until then. She researched the company on the internet when she got home and found out that singing was also an option. She decided she was going to take a chance and with her mother's permission and blessing she auditioned and was accepted where she quickly learned that her voice was a gift and her true calling was performing, making other people happy and inspiring them to follow their dreams.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO BECOME AN IDOL? : 

▸ To be honest, I didn't have dreams of being an idol when I was growing up. But when I tried to sing for the first time as I was practicing to audition after being scouted I realized that I had a hidden treasure. When I saw those smiles on the judges' faces I knew I could make people happy. I had a chance and I could do it.

WHAT SUBUNIT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN, WHY? : 

▸ After much consideration I feel that Page B fits my personality the best. Of course, I'd be open to trying more bolder concpets in the future. The innocent concept that Page B offers will be my first page to my very own book.

TALENT TWIN? : 

▸ My singing twin is Soyu of Sistar and my dancing twin is Tzuyu of TWICE.

WHICH IDOL IS YOUR ROLEMODEL, AND WHY? : 

▸ I have two role models. My first role model is Solar Unni, I love her style and the way that she carries herself and I really adore her beautiful voice. She was very classy, I hope to one day, maybe, come close to reaching her level. My second role model is Taeyeon sunbaenim from Girls' Generation. I absolutely love her voice and the confidence the she has when she sings. I hope to be able to exude the same amount of confidence when I debut.
