Saerim was born and raised in Jeju Island, South Korea. She was born to lower middle class Korean parents. As a young child, she always had a deep love for the arts. It took her a few years to pinpoint what in the arts she wanted to do. She started to become interested in singing, dancing but especially composing. To her, there was something alluring about creating a story that gets translated into music. She auditioned to YG Entertainment in 2012 at the age of 16 as a vocalist (which she was decent in, but not the best by far). The first few months at YG, definatley helped shape what kind of artist she would later become. She was influenced by YG's various hip-hop backgrounds and fell in love with rapping. Along with her already strong composing background, she quickly rose to be one of the top trainees in rap and the top trainee in composing. During the year leading up to the second season of WIN, she delved into choreographing.

Saerim is someone who takes everything seriously, her career, her relationships etc. She knows exactly what she's looking for and she'll do whatever it takes to achieve it. Some will call her a perfectionist, which she doesn't mind since she recongnizes that that is what she is. As a leader, she pushes everyone to their limit in order to show their best potential. According to her philosophy, work then play. She feels rewards come through sacrifices. Every criticism she or her team gets, good or bad she'll use it to make herself better and stronger. Outside of the practice room however, she's an unbelivably kind person. She goes out of her way to make someone feel at home and belonged. She's very understanding and doesn't underestimate anyone. She's very observant and will usually throughly observe a situation before judging.

She can be a bit harsh in her judgement but has all the best intentions. She can sometimes be too focused on perfection that her personal relationships can slip right out of her hands. She'll be the voice of truth and wisdom for anyone who needs her help. Her cognitive weakness is romance. She tends to overthink her romantic decisions (but otherwise is stellar at decision making) and she can become quite shy when talking about romance.

PERSONALITY. Hanbin is very similar to Saerim in many ways. He's also a perfectionist. Everything needs to come out right. Period.  However, in hsi down time, he's doing child-like giddy things like awkwards dances and burp competitions. He's straight-forward, curious and a genuinely kind person despite what other might say about him. He knows what he wants, as a person, as an artist and as the leader of a popular kpop group.

MEETING. They meet for the first time as trainees in YG Entertainment. Saerim watches him from afar and does not understand why he's so popular amongst the other trainees and continues to resist his charm, despite later gaining overall fame during the first season of WIN. They speak for the first time when another female trainee who had a bold crush on Hanbin calls him over to their group to a have chat. He locks eyes with her and the start to speak. Although she's very standoffish with him. She later makes an effort to become his friends but not without the cat-dog aspect.

INTERACTIONS. Saerim did not have any intentions on liking Hanbin. But despite his joke cracking, annoying name calling habits, he has done things time and time again to prove the he has genuine feelings for her, although Hanbin himself has not professed them (confides in Bobby too). Saerim has doubts about whether or not to come forth with these feelings (since she's had a bad experience in the past, also he is younger and she has no experience with younger boys). They are both too shy to say anything about anything romantic to each other.
