[AFF Update!!!] - Comment Downvoting
[!] UPDATE: COMMENT DOWNVOTING LIMITED TO 1 EVERY 24 HOURS
Admin Jason has now implemented a 1 per 24 hour comment downvoting rule on AFF as a countermeasure against anonymous users who are mass downvoting comments on threads, blogs, and stories for no particular reason other than their own satisfaction.
As always, it's not 100% guaranteed to counter mass downvoting. Who knows, maybe this will anger these anonymous trolls and make them do even more extreme things like create multiple accounts in order to keep mass downvoting (they'll need to pass email verification first). But I'm certain it'll still be beneficial for the community even if it's not about the mass downvoting that's been happening a lot lately.
You will now only be able to downvote once, and not per thread/story/blog. If you exceed this limit within 24 hours then you will be lead to this page:
Don't worry, there is no limit for upvoting a comment.
I've only tried it for myself, and it'll be helpful for our admin if you guys also tested this out and report back to this blog if it's working for you (or if it's not working for you). Send them all here.
If you do try it for yourself, please don't forget to undo your downvote haha. We don't want a whole bunch of people reporting their comments being downvoted for no particular reason.
For the people who aren't really happy about this news, we apologise. Admin Jason is really trying his best to counter all these issues that's been happening on the site and mass downvoting has been a large concern for a number of people—so it's a sacrifice we'll need to make.
Besides, it's better to focus on the comments that deserve upvoting rather than comments that you think deserve downvoting.
Please spread the word, or link your friends to this blog.
