Life as a Traveller - essentials?

Okay then. Year by year, I go to one to two countries. I'm not a continent-hopper but just a country-hopper.

Now, I'm finally going back to my HOMETOWN - the Philippines!

I heard that it's quite hot yet rainy over there?

So when it comes to travelling, what do you think are the main things you need to have in your bags/backpacks/carry-ons?

Can you guys list me the things that you can't travel without? :D

And about Pinas, sino sino mga nandun? Taga dun? O sya, sabihin nyo sakin ano naman mga kailangan pag pumupunta sa Pinas :P

My friends and I have learned to travel extremely light, with only a travel purse and a backpack. Download audiobooks and music to phone, if you have room. (I also have a service where I can download magazines) Phone, charger, battery pack to charge phone, travel adapter (if needed), and earplugs. Extra money in the currency of the country you currently live in, in case your bank/credit card won't work or is lost so you can exchange for currency in the country you are visiting. Wear comfortable walking shoes on plane/train/boat, but carry fold up pair of ballet flats in case you go somewhere nice. If you wear contacts, extra contacts and contact solution. Also a spare pair of glasses, in case you can't wear your contacts. If you wear cosmetics, learn to minimize your beauty routine and travel with bare minimum. (We go with bb cream, mascara, tinted lip balm and a blusher that can double as eye shadow if needed). The smallest deodorant you can find, hair ties, travel brush, travel size dry shampoo travel ,first aid kit, travel sewing kit, wet wipes (these became life saver when stranded and couldn't shower for days.) I went on a 14 day trip last year and (other than what I was wearing), took two tees, one dressier blouse, extra of pair of pants(or shorts), skirt (that could be paired with tees or blouse for a dressier occasion. One extra bra, two pairs underwear, two pair socks, and a sleep shirt. If you don't have access to a washer, pick up travel size laundry detergent to hand wash clothes and hang to dry. Travel toothpaste and tooth brush. If you don't have allergies, you can pick up travel size hygiene stuff when you get there. If you don't have allergies or special hair needs, most hotels have shampoo. Small umbrella, any prescription meds you are taking(in a pill travel case with copies of prescriptions). Take several days extra of your prescriptions, than you'll need, in case you can't get home as scheduled. Paper copies of passport, reservations and emergency contact info, special medical conditions, or allergies, but also leave paper copies with someone, then email copies to yourself, just in case you lose them. If traveling with others, you can split up stuff non clothing stuff. On our trip, one carried first aid kit/sewing kit/sun screen/lotion. Another carried shampoo/conditioner. The other body wash/travel size laundry soap. And a small towel. Once stayed at a hostel and they ran out of towels. I was never so thankful that my friend made me pack one. Bathing suit, if you'll need one. Also a bag to carry wet things in, in case they don't dry before you have to leave for home or another leg of your trip. All fit easily in our Osprey backpacks and travel purses. We had plenty of room for souvenirs. We never had to worry about losing our bags, because we never had to check them. You can pick up cheap flip flops, hats, or sunglasses when you get there. If you find you have too many souvenirs, you can pick up a cheap suitcase and check it on the way home. Enjoy your trip!

I'm not Filipino but when I travel, I always bring clothes and shoes (of course lol), hand sanitizer, money, phone, phone charger and tissues! But since you are going to rainy place, maybe bring raincoat/umbrella.
