just a little bit of stardust; shimin

Birth Name  Shi, Min
Other Name(s)

  • Seok, Min: South Korean adaptation of her name.

Nickname(s)

  • Minnie: her bandmates or close friends call her this because they think it's a cute nickname for someone as petite as her (but otherwise they just call her by her name since... there's only so much one can do with a name as short as this).
  • Baby Min: Minseok calls her this because she's like a second younger sister to him. She doesn't like the 'baby' part, but she allows Minseok to call her this because he's a favorite. If somebody else calls her this though, she gets angry (even though she does nothing but glare at the person who called her this). With her luck, this will probably end up being her nickname for future Chinese fans which Minseok lowkey takes pride in creating the nickname.
  • Gem: Lu Han calls her this since it somehow refers to her name. Baekhyun ends up using it too because he hasn't figured out a nickname of his own for her yet (plus, he really likes that nickname).

Personality  The first thing everyone notices when they first meet Min is that she's quiet and observant - an introvert. She doesn't say much except a standard greeting and typical 'How are you today?' because she's curious. She loves observing people and noting little habits, details, and mannerisms she can spot in the other person. She also just likes listening to native Koreans speak because it gives her a way to improve in her own proficiency of the language. Others think she's either rude or simply confused because she's Chinese living alone in South Korea, and obviously, there would be a language barrier, but she's really not. She playfully uses that thought in a way because then those trying to get to know her start using basic Korean words to try and start a conducive conversation only to cause her lips to quirk at the side before she breaks into a smile and laughs, bringing out her pretty great flow of Korean and surprising the ones she's talking to.

Along with her observant nature, the second thing everyone notices after they've met Min is that she's very thoughtful and loyal. She doesn't outwardly say it (she hates saying it), but her actions do. She uses those little tabs of information she's kept of people inside her head to show she cares for them. For example, since she knows Minseok loves coffee and she knows he's been having a tough day, she'd try and send him some coffee wherever he is to help lighten up his day or she'd leave a little post-it note or texts her friends that she knows will make them smile if she knows they're going to have a tiring day ahead ('Yo yo yo, don't do illegal drugs today, my dear.' or '*glomps*'). Also, being the only daughter, she has taken it upon herself to take care of house chores and grocery shopping, etc. when she was still in her house in Beijing since she knew her parents would be too tired after work to do anything else but try and unwind. She's responsible and knows it's in her duty and tries to do anything she can to help lighten the load of her family (and friends). Because of this as well, she tends to keep her negative feelings to herself. She doesn't want to burden others, so she keeps things locked up until they just explode one day.

She's also pretty unpredictable in that she doesn't really have a brain-to-mouth filter. With close friends, she tends to say what's on her mind be it a pick-up line she suddenly thinks of or some quote she suddenly remembers seeing some time earlier that day. Sometimes she even reads random signs she passes by on the streets, trying to read the Hangul on the sign. Her friends find it cute, awkward, and funny while others tend to find it rude with some of the comments that escape . She usually just laughs when she finds that whatever she says makes her friends blush because she thinks it's a cute reaction to see on anybody (excluding herself, she doesn't like being on the short end of the stick). She doesn't hold back on comments about appearances if given the chance even if it isn't a favorable comment. She likes to think that it's because of her mother's personality who bluntly says anything that she observes.

If there is other thing her friends can definitely associate Min with is her hardworking nature with anything she does. She won't stop until she's got her parts perfected and is known to yell out comments and suggestions over the music while practicing with others (her bandmates) just to ensure a great performance. She knows she's limited to her specialties, but she tries and helps out the others anyways through her opinions and praises. However, she does get frustrated with herself easily. As an only child, she always got punished when something wrong happened back then, so now it's just ingrained into her head that she's the one supposed to take the brunt of everything. Because of her limitations, she also feels somewhat self-conscious of her skills and becomes easily jealous of others' talents, which extends into her being jealous of others' relationships with other people since she's an only child and only had herself and her parents. Especially with being rejected from two companies, it only added on to her insecurity of not being good enough at her job. It makes her continually try harder until she's completely out like a light at the end of the day.

Background  Min was born and raised in the Chaoyang District in Beijing, China. Her father (Jianyu) is a businessman while her mother (Lan) is a secretary for another company. She's an only child, and since both her parents were busy most of the time, she learned about responsibility pretty early in life. If anything though, her mother spent more time with her than her father simply because she worked days and was always home by night. Her father tried to stay close to his only daughter but it proved difficult as the years passed by and he kept traveling to other cities or always brought his extra work home with him.

When she turned the appropriate age, she was enrolled to the Beijing BISS International School for kindergarten and above and never knew why she was actually enrolled there until later on when she grew older. This school is where she found out her love for music as well as languages. She was in her required music class on the first day of school when they all started learning nursery rhymes from her young teacher. She originally had trouble following the flow of words, but she took it in stride, only going home to practice the little stories with the same rhythm she remembers her teacher using earlier that day. Her parents had no clue what she was doing but found it adorable and felt proud that she kept working on what she originally called "homework" for hours on end.

When she was in grade 3, her class took a field trip to a historical site far from school where their class passed by another class visiting the same place. She watched the other class curiously, hearing a small but pretty singing voice somewhere within the crowd when her feet accidentally guided her out of her group and stood next to a boy singing some lyrics from a song she tried to sing the day before while looking at a structure curiously. She politely waited until the boy quieted down and noticed her before she bowed and introduced herself first. The boy looked incredibly frightened with wide eyes before his friend nudged him and he immediately bowed and introduced himself as Lu Han. Min smiled at him in return before telling him he had a good voice before her teacher called for her to rejoin their group. She quickly left the bewildered boy and for the rest of the day, all she could think about was the pretty voice reverberating within her head.

For Min, this little event is what finally pushed her into pursuing something more than whatever her parents wanted for her. Every school year, she'd look forward to any music classes she was signed up for as well as any language classes. She had a quirky affinity for languages and always loved learning new words and phrases whenever she could because she just thought it was cool. When she was in grade 5, she asked her father what languages were good in his job and he responded back with "English. It's becoming the all-around language all over the world," and since then, she split her focus into her English language classes and her music classes. Her mother quickly noticed her daughter's effort whenever she came home and saw her watching movies in English but with the standard Mandarin subtitles underneath or heard her trying to keep up with pop songs on the radio and repeating what she could remember in tune after the song finished.

Later on when she turned 16, her mother kept talking to her father about their daughter's love and hard work for music and languages. She found out she still had a bit of trouble following a beat if she read music but actually hearing it was a different story. The day after her birthday, her father finally told her the reason why he sent her to an international school. He hoped that she would find something there that would make her successful later in life like himself. He loved that she loved learning about languages (especially English) but was wary of the fact she loved music to the same extent. He and his daughter weren't even the ones to suggest going into the music career, but her mother was. Min wouldn't have minded becoming an English teacher somewhere else in Asia or America or a music teacher elsewhere, but once her mother brought it up and she researched more into it, she wanted to try it out.

One week a year later, her father was able to bring her and her mother to South Korea while he was on a business trip. While there, she and her mother went shopping in Myeongdong when she heard a similar singing voice like all those years ago. She dragged her mom with her only to find that same boy (they still looked similar if her memory proved her right) Lu Han trying to talk to some man with his friends surrounding him. She waited until they finished before calling out "Lu Han?" It was then she found out about the talent scout and became actual friends with Luhan that prompted her to try and audition as well. She didn't make it into SM unlike her newfound friend but took it as a sign to try harder and come back the next year. (She also made sure to keep in contact with Luhan as well. She found they became friends quite quickly. Something about 'fate.')

A year passed by again and she found herself standing outside of Amour Entertainment. She didn't want to audition for any of the bigger companies but instead wanted to join as part of a smaller company. Her reason being was because she wanted to be known for her hard work, not for the label she was under. She was accepted in November under Amour Entertainment in 2009 after auditioning for the third time. (The second time was earlier in the year but for Starship Entertainment.) She didn't know what to expect for the trainee life but hearing from Lu Han made it seem frightening and extremely tiring. When she entered Amour, she was surprised to find it different from the way Lu Han described it to her. Despite the differences in opinion about trainee life, she worked just as hard until she was given the chance to debut.

Relationships

  • Best friends : Yoo, Jiwool : 23 years old (as of 2015) : University Law Student : Outgoing, playful, confident, down-to-earth, cunning, impulsive : 9/10
Min and Jiwool met when Min went to the Cheonan campus of Dankook University for a month to expand her experience in-between training at Amour. It was an odd encounter, bumping outside of a classroom, but they somehow remained acquaintances and then friends after that month was up. They're typical best friends, always loud or laughing when they're together, but they're also the type to quietly talk amongst themselves, working through each other's problems together or ranting to the other through texts, calls, or in person because they're always going to be there for each other. Jiwool is more outgoing than Min, so it helps balance their personalities out whenever they go out and have fun together. (fc: kim, hyelim; lime from hello venus -- you can always change the faceclaim though! i figured she should have one but i couldn't find a gif of lime with brown hair ;;)

  • Close friends : Kim, Minseok : 25 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (EXO) : Quiet, protective, quirky, passionate : 8/10
Minseok and Min met through Lu Han because 'your names are almost the same! you need to meet!'  Their personalities are similar, so they tend to get along well, and Minseok likes to treat her like his little sister in addition to his own. He would rather not have her meet the rest of EXO, but it's out of his control most of the time and he internally suffers with her meeting so many guys who could do her harm. They have a more mature relationship when it comes to conversations, but sometimes they act young together and not like their age at all. They also bond over Marvel (and Lu Han), Minseok buying her a special Marvel hat like his. They have also been mistaken for dating each other, but they've never honestly felt anything more than a close friendship.

  • Good friends : Zhou, Yixuan : 25 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (UNIQ) : Sweet, polite, awkward, meditative/thoughtful : 7.5/10
Min and Yixuan met after UNIQ debuted in South Korea and China. It was backstage when they met, and Min was the one to go up to him first because she knew he was Chinese and heard that he was scouted for his dancing. She admired his skills because dancing isn't one of hers. Their friendship could be described as sweet, always seemingly gentle between them, and Min appreciates Yixuan a lot when she realizes he's like her listening friend. She goes to him when she has troubles and she likes the fact they're both leaders so they can understand each other a bit more than the rest. They've toed the line of romance a few times -- more below in potential lovers. (She considers herself friends with each member of UNIQ, loving each of them and considering Yibo as her son, but is closest to Yixuan.)

  • Good friends : Byun, Baekhyun : 23 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (EXO) : Outgoing, playful, friendly, stubborn, loud : 5/10
Min and Baekhyun met through Minseok, much to his misfortune and strangely enough, while EXO was having a one-year break from promoting. It was completely by accident, Min seeing Minseok walking around by himself, when she approached him cautiously until he recognized her. She didn't know he was also hanging out with Lu Han, Baekhyun, and Jongdae until she followed him and saw them in a coffee shop waiting for him. It was an odd start to their friendship, but with Baekhyun being as outgoing as he is, they easily got along and became friends, joking around and surprising each other with their own antics. Despite that though, Min strangely goes to Baekhyun for advice when it comes to relationships and feelings and doing things out of the norm since she knows Baekhyun is 'fearless' when it comes to certain things. They have heart-to-heart talks, unlike where Yixuan would easily listen and provide little pieces of advice (in potential lovers below too), and she cherishes Baekhyun because of that. (She also really really really likes his teeth. Like really.)

  • Questionable??? : Wu, Yifan : 25 years old (as of 2015) : Actor : Dorky, awkward, strong-minded, quiet : used to be 7 or 8/10
Yifan and Min met through Lu Han (she actually met the whole China line first and is friends with each of them) some time before EXO's debut. She was surprised by how tall he was and how he somehow looked like a doll to her, that she instantly declared him as her favorite and booting Lu Han down to second. This was all in good fun (they ended up laughing about it later to Lu Han's expense), but Yifan and Min ended up having a sibling-type of relationship as the months went on. He protects her like how he would protect s in EXO-M and as if he had a little sister. She also treats him like an older brother, annoying him and trying to get into his personal love life to see if he actually had one or not. When he leaves first, Min had an inkling because of how many times he was gone for a whole year before May 2014. She had no idea when he was going to leave though or the true reason about it and even though it did hurt her at first that he simply stayed behind in Beijing without coming back with EXO, she supported him. He cut off contact with her though until a year later in February when he was seen with Lu Han at that charity event, and Min thought of it as a late birthday present to herself to be talking to her big brother again.

  • Friends : Jeon, Minju : 21 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (The Ark) : Dorky, personable, strong, curious : 4/10
Min and Minju met backstage in May 2015 while Min was promoting 'Photograph' with Axis' Jaehyun and The Ark was promoting their debut single 'The Light.' Min has a certain admiration for dancers and Minju was no exception since she was called the next Boa. They have a somewhat awkward friendship but are able to somehow maintain a conversation because they both seem curious about each other. They laugh when they feel the awkward tension before the atmosphere turns into something more genuine and they're able to talk more freely about things.

  • Friends : Nam, Eric : 26 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (Solo) : Awkward, funny, innovative, genuine : 3/10
Eric and Min met when she was asked to be the lead for his music video. Their friendship developed on set and she felt like she had a good time and a blessed learning process while filming with/for him. Even now, they're openly friendly with each other and take pictures together whenever they see each other and post it onto their instagram.

  • Acquaintance : Lee, Hyori : 36 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (Solo) : Honest, adaptive, open-minded : 1/10
Hyori briefly met Min when she was an extra in her video, but they never developed anything more after that. Hyori remembers Min but Min thinks she doesn't because she didn't exactly have a big part in the video nor did she think she left an impressionable image, but Min looks up to Hyori because of everything she's been through and she's still making a name for herself in the kpop world. If anything, maybe she'd like Stardust to be like her, lasting through the years.

  • Enemies : Kim, Junmyeon : 24 years old (as of 2015) : Idol (EXO) : Positive, mannered, stubborn, "annoying" : "do I need one?"
Of course being friends with three of the EXO members along with the man being Aeri's cousin, Min ended up meeting Junmyeon early on in their lives. She has no idea what it is - she originally did like the man when EXO debuted - but within the span of a few months, she started disliking the man more and more. This dislike seemed to possibly(???) strengthen the bond between Min and Aeri, but after Yifan left EXO, Min's dislike for the man grew while Aeri's bond with her cousin strengthen. Min honestly has no idea why she doesn't like Junmyeon - he doesn't deserve it after all, especially with what he's been through - but she can't make herself like him if there's no incentive or tries to change it.

  • Mentor/Friends : Song, Lihua : 25 years old (as of 2015) : Rap instructor, songwriter : ??? : 5/10
Being an instructor for the company, Min easily met Lihua on her first day of classes. She thinks of Lihua as her role model, looking up to her and asking her for advice when it comes to developing her skills more. She's not very good at writing lyrics, so she goes to Lihua for help. Min likes to say that they're actually friends as well, and she's happy to have a friend so close to her in age and also Chinese.

  • Friends : China line : Various
Most of these friendships are simply friends, getting excited to see each other and easily talking to them in their native language, but the ones above are the ones Min is closest to. Min thinks of Zhou Mi like an older brother, looking out for her and trying to make the atmosphere comfortable any time she's around. Fei and Jia are like the older sisters Min still can't decide she wishes she had or not (they always like to joke around like that even though they do give her friendly advice every once in a while). Liyin and Qian are like her best friends and mothers all in one (she goes to them when times are tough and she needs help with something, especially with leadership duties). Amber and Jackson are like the rambunctious little siblings who always brings laughter to Min and helps her lighten up. Zhang Yixing is a different story and Min can't tell if she feels friendly affection for the man or downright attraction.

Likes

  • Couple items: clothes, accessories, jewelry, etc.
  • Winter: snow, Christmas, New Year's, it's basically her favorite time of year. She's always in a better mood when there's cold weather.
  • Foreign languages: She thinks it's cool and beautiful to hear different languages spoken out loud next to her.
  • Watermelon: She could probably eat a whole large watermelon by herself if she could, honestly.
  • Nighttime: She loves the stars and the moon, the simple quietness the night can bring her and clear her head when things get tough.
  • Airplanes: She likes going through airports and traveling by air. It's probably a good thing too, since Lu Han doesn't like airplanes or airports very much at all.
  • Marvel: She loves anything about the Marvel universe (she would collect everything if she could). Her mother is surprisingly a huge fan of Marvel, and so are Lu Han and Minseok, so it's no surprise she loves it too. She loves learning all about the universe and how it all connects to each other. She doesn't know which hero is her favorite, but it's a tie between Thor (he's funny and charming), Captain America (he's honest and sweet, kinda dorky), and Ironman (who doesn't love the charming sass?). Her favorite villains so far are Loki, that "electric Ivan guy from Ironman 2," and Trevor "The Mandarin" from Ironman 3.
  • Basketball: She watches a variety of sports (soccer, tennis, basketball), but this one is her favorite of the three. She may not be the best player because of her height, but she can be a great shooter and fast on the court (it was a thing in middle school for her). She follows the NBA and has recently taken a liking to the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets. She's had several changes to her favorites in past years, but the one thing that's stayed constant is that she does not like the Los Angeles Lakers and probably will never like them at all.

Dislikes

  • Alcohol: She becomes excessively touchy and randomly funny when she's really drunk, so she tries to avoid that. Well, that's what her friends say anyways. She doesn't really know.
  • Extremely spicy foods: She doesn't like that her nose starts to run and her eyes tear up when she accidentally bites into pieces of pepper, etc.
  • Bugs: Creepy crawlers, except butterflies and ladybugs.
  • Doing aegyo: She just can't, but it's bound to happen anyways. She feels awkward doing it.
  • Horror/scary movies: She simply gets scared and then can't sleep at night because of them. She has to wait until daybreak to feel comfortable to sleep again.
  • Cats: It's not that she overly dislikes them. She doesn't mind getting near or petting them, but they're not on her top five favorite animals list. She would rather not get one as a pet, much preferring dogs, quokkas, and other cute, furry little animals.
  • Chick flicks (unless the situation truly and 150% calls for one): She's not overly fond of all the hardcore, cheesy romance stuff. She much prefers action and adventure movies, fantasy as well with little to no romance. Her reasoning is because she doesn't think any of that romantic junk actually happens in real life.

Fears

  • Mannequins: The longer she stares at one, the more she feels like the thing is going to suddenly move and attack her at the most random of times. She doesn't understand her fear. She just knows she doesn't want one near her at all unless absolutely needed.
  • Octopuses/Octopi? and Squids: She always gets the shudders when she sees one. She doesn't like tentacles because they creep her out and has resolutely claimed octopuses and squids are spawns of the devil.

Hobbies

  • Writing: She writes about whatever she feels like. She has random ideas-- She'll see people walking down the street and start to think about what their lives must be like, or she'll see puppies and kitten and think about them. Sometimes, she'll write about home and how she misses all the holidays and festivals and her parents.
  • Attempting to recreate Chinese dishes: She's not a very good cook, but she likes to believe practice makes perfect. So, she keeps trying.
  • Playing Pokemon Shuffle on her phone: She's a er for pokemon, so she downloaded the game right when it came out (in 2015).
  • Dancing: She may not be very good, but she keeps trying to be better.
  • Basketball: Her height is a real disadvantage, but she likes to try and make it up with her short stature and speed. She's a really good shooter though. She used to play during her middle school years.

Habits

  • Her lips quirk to the side before she smiles fully.
  • Her eyes close when she laughs.
  • She starts speaking in Mandarin when she's really happy, excited, or scared.
  • She taps her finger against the microphone while she raps, as if tapping out a beat, if she's holding one.
  • She has a bad habit of trying to fix her hair or run fingers through her hair when she's nervous or feels pressured about something.
  • She tends to become either really snappy or eerily quiet when she's stressed out and/or angry.

Trivia

  • She doesn't like being in the spotlight for more than two minutes so she'll try and focus the attention on her members instead.
  • Her dream stage is to sing/rap/dance with Lu Han since he's the one who unknowingly helped her decide if music was the right choice for her, which it was. She's excited when he finally makes his solo comeback, supporting him in every way she knows how without bring unwanted, deadly attention to Stardust itself.
  • She has a hard time following notes on paper (reading music), but if she hears the melody, she can easily flow with the beat.
  • She's self-conscious about her weight. She thinks she's underweight and would like to be at a healthier number, but she can't gain weight through food. She's tried. Instead, she tries to work out to gain muscle mass, but it doesn't really help much at all either.
  • She loves being around people who can make her laugh and simply have a good time with her. It's why she likes being around her friends so much.
  • Her second dream job is to become a language teacher, preferably English.
  • Despite wanting to be a teacher, Min feels awkward with children. She loves babies and knows how to hold them, but when it comes to spending time with anyone younger than fourteen, she doesn't know what to do or how to act. She admires others around her age or a bit younger who can easily interact with children.
  • She has bad vision, so she has glasses and contacts. She can't wear colored contacts though because they irritate her eyes. She wants to get Lasik eye surgery done one day though to help lessen the burden, but she doesn't think she can get it because she has astigmatism too.
  • She prefers a few close friends compared to being a social butterfly.
  • She prefers saving people in her phone as their real names, first and last. But some are an exception like Ironman Lu and Captain Minseok, because Avengers is her life.
  • She is a fan of Fan Bingbing because she is absolutely gorgeous and so friendly in person. She'd love to be in the same variety show as her somehow (Challenger's Union).
  • She's also a fan of Zhang Liyin because of her voice and music videos and how there's always some type of deep meaning to her songs.
  • She has watched a few animes and prefers the ones that seriously twist the heart - Death Note, 5 Centimeters per Second, Time of Eve - but also Kuroko's Basketball (Kuroko no Basuke) and Ghost Hunt (go supernatural!).
  • She's not as light and fair-skinned as all her photos and videos. She's actually a bit tanner.
  • She's a firm believer that EXO-M could've been legends if given the chance. (She feels her friends' injustice and it might also be another reason why she doesn't like Junmyeon.)
  • For some reason, Min cried when she first listened and watched Taeyeon's first mini-album single "I."

Education

  • Beijing BISS International School: She attended this school since she was in kindergarten and eventually graduated high school there in 2009 before she auditioned for Amour Entertainment.
  • Dankook University: Min wanted to continue her schooling in case something happened, so she applied when she graduated high school and before she auditioned for Amour Entertainment. She was accepted in 2009 and took up her major in the college of management and business. Her tentative graduation date at the time was 2013, but it might take an extra year or two because of her obligation and dedication to Stardust.

Pre-Debut Experiences –

  • Extra in Lee Hyori's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang music video (April 2010)
  • Female lead in Eric Nam's Heaven's Door music video (January 2013)

SNS –

  • She has an instagram - @minshii_24 - she likes to try and update once every other week. She's not a big camera person, but she's trying to be more active with using it. She follows Lu Han, Baekhyun, Yixing, and Yifan as well as UNIQ's and the Ark's official accounts. She also follows Jiwool's - - and MCM worldwide's account, and others.
  • She has a weibo - 石min - that she updates occasionally with reblogs of movies/actors/actresses she's excited for or random personal updates. Her weibo picture is a fanart someone drew of her that she really liked.

Hopes & Dreams for Stardust – Honestly, Min wasn't all too sure what she wanted to achieve through Stardust at first. Of course, it was typical to wish for success, reach the top of the charts and become number one in South Korea, but that was superficial. She wants Stardust to last, like the stars in the night sky. They may disappear when others shine like the sun, but they'll always reappear somehow, someway and may last longer than those who shine on top. If they happened to reach the top while making their legacy last, then that would just be a bonus above all that.

She also wants to form inseparable bonds with her group mates and especially Hyeri because she was given the chance to be accepted and debut in a group that already has so many hopes and dreams poured into it from the CEO herself. It may seem silly, but she wants to think of her group mates as family, ones who can always rely on the other when times are tough. She also wants each of them to grow, mentally, physically, and emotionally, in whatever way possible whether it be through solo ventures or group promotions with cfs, etc. But for herself, she doesn't know how she wants to grow yet, but she hopes it will be in a favorable view in the future.

Love History & Experiences  Min, for one, has a hard time with love. For some reason, she doesn't understand the feelings of love, like she can't comprehend it. She understands the concepts and the actions taken with it, but she doesn't understand what exactly she's supposed to feel and if she's actually in love. Because of this, she's never actually had a boyfriend. She's had plenty of crushes because she thinks everyone is attractive in their own way, but it's never breached the physicial or personal (personality) appearance of a person. She's never had the thought that 'I really want to date this person and be the only one he looks at,' but if she does, she doesn't know how to act on it. She's pretty innocent (naive?) in this department so she'll try and observe others who seem to be in love. She's more logic than gut emotion, but she'll try and depend more on her emotion because 'love is an emotion... right?'

Potential Lovers

  • Byun, Baekhyun (idol, singer, EXO): Min definitely had a crush on Baekhyun when she first met him through Lu Han. He simply had an infectious laugh and smile and was always so fun to be around, it made Min feel a lot younger and happier being around him, but she knew he only had his eyes on Taeyeon even before he auditioned for SM, so she didn't really do anything about her crush. She ended up congratulating him when she heard he was dating Taeyeon and hoped for the best for both of them. When it was reported that Baekhyun and Taeyeon had broken up, Min immediately tried to get in contact with Baekhyun to see if he was okay, even though she worried more for Taeyeon for some reason. She just wanted them to be happy because they both deserve it. Her crush seemed to have faded, but she still thought his laughter and smile was contagious even after all this time.
  • Zhou, Yixuan (idol, Chinese leader, UNIQ): Min and Yixuan had a few dates, if one could call them that. They were always laughing or joking around with each other and would find the time to hang out if they happened to both be in Beijing or South Korea at the same time. They never made anything official until Yixuan suddenly told her he had feelings for her but knew it would freak her out because she's never been in an actual legitimate relationship before. He asked her if she wanted to try actually dating anyways, that it wouldn't be any different than what they've been doing, except that he would get to call her his girlfriend. She said she wasn't sure, uncertain about her actual feelings, but that she wouldn't mind trying it out. It actually lasted longer than she thought, considering how much they have in common and just how comfortable, and she could comfortably say she actually, really liked him during that time.
  • Zhang, Yixing (idol, singer, EXO): Min and Yixing met between all the meetings Min had with EXO. She thought he was adorable at first, but he was actually truly charming. She developed a crush on him that lasted a couple of days, but it easily faded since she never really saw him much. They have a nice friendship between them and it always makes Min worry whenever she sees and hears of him traveling back and forth between China and South Korea. She doesn't know what to do half the time, wanting to help him rest in some way possible, but she still supports him with everything she has, finding it amazing he can take on so many things at once and still stand on his own two feet. He really is endearing to her and she'll try in any way possible to help him de-stress, whatever way that is.

Love Interest  Lu Han [Byun, Baekhyun]
Date of Birth
 April 20, 1990 [May 06, 1992]
Occupation  Idol (Solo) [Idol (EXO)]

Personality  The first word Lu Han would use to describe himself would be easy-going. He always states he doesn't have that "idol burden" others have and it's clear as day whenever he goes on a show or he's in an interview. He doesn't hold back on his reactions and has stopped trying to do so when it only made him look weirder than he already did. He's also genuine in his actions and words. He'll try to think clearly about a nicer or smoother way to say things, and he'll always try to pacify situations before they really get out of hand. It helps describe his temperament, which takes a while to build up and explode, but it usually happens because he's tried various ways to smooth things over before it got bad.

Others describe Lu Han as a friendly, open, and loyal guy, going along with his easy-going attitude. He tries to be considerate of others but sometimes, he can be impulsive when a situation calls for it or he gets really excited about something. He thinks it's how he's made some great friends in Lao Gao and Yixing who are both extremely laidback and he balances them out with his surprisingly outgoing personality. However, he can be too open to the point where others take advantage of his loyalty, taking his trust for granted, and backfiring it on him when he leasts expects it. Of course he gets hurt, but he wouldn't do anything to harm the other person. He'll try to find the good in someone else and rely on that in case something else happens and they become friends with each other again.

He's also a quick learner, hardworking and ambitious, especially when it comes to things he loves or wants to try out. He'll give his all into his projects and makes sure they're of the highest quality before letting the world know about it. Even though he isn't quiet about most things when he's around people he knows, when he's around people he's just meeting, he can be more on the observant, quiet side. He'll be protective (and strong) of his friends if he thinks they can't handle their own and would try to do everything in his power to keep them safe or happy. He tries to keep his personal matters quiet, especially those including his friends, but if asked about them, he wouldn't mind saying his thoughts on the matter unless he knew there would be intense backlash about it.

First Meeting  Lu Han and Min somehow met in Beijing when they were just kids touring around with their respective schools. Neither of them knew it was actually going to be a weird, fateful meeting until later on in life when they bump into each other again in South Korea.

History  At first, Lu Han and Min were merely acquaintances trying to become better friends only because they've met each other by accident when they were children. They would try to text each other every now and then (moving their status up to 'friends,' but it wasn't until she officially moved to Korea that their bond with each other strengthened significantly. They became a lot closer and tried to find time to hang out between their trainings because they felt like they found a part of their home in each other, both coming from Beijing. It even got to the point where other trainees from Amour and/or SM were questioning what they were because they knew about the other person hanging out with their respective trainee-mate.

They came to know each other fairly well through their hang outs and text/call conversations, knowing little habits about each other that not many would notice after hanging out with them for a few minutes, and they would always get the other something if one of them went home to Beijing or went out and knew they would see the other wherever they were. And even though they were with different companies and the training regimen was different, Lu Han still tried to persuade Min away from the industry if she wasn't passionate enough for it. Of course, this made her angry and wanted to prove him wrong, but she also really loved what she was doing. He eventually came to support her with quiet 'fighting's and 'you can do it, gem' when he saw her passion and eyes light up whenever she sang or rapped around him. He simply became protective over her as time went on and, together with Minseok, proved to be a formiddable force.

Even then, their relationship never officially became more than 'just really great best friends' despite all the obvious flirting and comfort anyone can see between them a mile away. Minseok thinks it's stupid they never made anything official (considering how they don't understand how the other's mind works sometimes, but it works for them together), but then he understood it when Lu Han informed EXO he was leaving in 2014. The rest of the group understood his decision because of his bad health at the time, but he didn't tell Min in fear that she somehow wouldn't understand. When he left, that put a rip in their friendship, but not because Min didn't understand. She was just upset and angry he didn't think he could trust her with that information when it was completely obvious to her that his health was declining as the days wore on. She knew about his fear of heights as well and it all made sense to her.

They stopped talking right after he left, Minseok trying to explain both sides to each other, but it did nothing but hurt the other party. This was when her friendship with Yixuan (or Baekhyun) blossomed more, because he was always a great listener and they went out by themselves to help get rid of the stress of being leaders/the eldest in their groups, but when Lu Han talked to her again, in the summer of 2015 (telling her about his solo debut plans because she had to know and he wants her support), Min couldn't help but want to talk to her best friend again.

Things between them never became official, but they knew they could actually talk to the other when things became tough again. He would always ask her opinions and ask if she could make it to any of his promotions even though he knew she couldn't, but she would try and be there for him in spirit or through the phone through their friend Lao Gao if she had no schedules for the day. She's proud of him for it also, incredibly happy and proud that he looks so happy and has achieved so much on his own after he left.

Even when they both don't see it, they both care about each other a lot but don't understand where the relationship questions come from. They both always think over their answers and say it'd be nice to date each other, but nobody thinks they've actually made it official even though everybody sees it clearly. They like to keep their 'whatever it is' more of a secret since everybody knows they're already good friends. It's just their personalities that want to make their relationship as discrete and quiet as possible. The only people they end up trusting are surprisingly Minseok and Baekhyun (ever since he came out saying he's dating Taeyeon) until it eventually and probably leaks out (and causes a mess for everyone in China and Korea).

Interactions  Lu Han treats Min like how he treats Lao Gao, like they've known each other their whole lives and he can act impulsively with her like he does with his best friend. He has his moments where he becomes a nerd about Ironman or anime (Attack on Titan and Tokyo Ghoul) and freaks out about it with her and re-enacts moments from the movies and Min usually just takes it or tries to play along. There have been moments where he's practiced scenes of dramas or something odd with her, like pushing her up against the wall angrily, and Min would glare right back and argue with him, but then they would burst out into laughter and Min would try to fight back with him (which once led to intense flirting and Lu Han pulling her in to place a kiss on her temple).

He also likes to protect her, tries to extend his tight security detail to her in 2014/2015 when she stays in Beijing, and Min tries to understand thinking it has to do with keeping her profile a secret whenever she's there, but she thinks it also helps him feel more manly even though she always thought he was manly in the first place.

Min, on the other hand, treats him like everybody else basically. The only difference is that she feels inexplainably happy with or around him. She goes along with his antics but also makes sure her voice is heard, and makes sure he goes along with her antics as well. With her unpredictable nature, along with her no brain-to-mouth filter, she also likes having skinship with him. She doesn't mind it overall even with friends, but she likes initiating it with him especially after he leaves EXO and Korea. She likes the assurance that he's still there somehow and not very far away and he indulges her in it, even though they never give themselves a label after everything has happened.

Together, they know when to take a break from each other so they're not always up on each other's personal space 24/7, but sometimes, they can't tell. When they can't, they try and lightly tell the other they need space because they're busy and they just want some alone time, and they try to understand it and wait a few days before sending a simple text with some emoji like one of a pig or something random.

Relationship  They're definitely best friends (who may be a bit more touchy with lots of tension than the normal best friendship), but they want something more after the beginning of summer 2015 (maybe when they realize the other is getting more popular as the days go on and they're worried someone might steal the other away).

Comments  OKAY SO FAOPIHPOIRETHEROTIH. love interests bother me because so much could happen. i know stories and plots change so if you feel like min and lu han can't get together or they try and it's too much to handle being in separate places, you can change it to baekhyun or something (if you think she might be better suited for a labelmate, be my guest! ah! i forgot i could add labelmates in here! i'll do that later too ;;). i'm definitely going to add in baekhyun's stuff that i'm going to change up, but i think i've given enough each for baekhyun and yixuan so you can choose who you think fits better for her in the long run or something :) oh! i also really, really like seulgi's singing voice but i don't think her voice matches yura's rap unlike yeeun so ;u; I JUST READ YOUR APP I'M SORRY ABOUT THE SEULGI THING ;;

i might also add one or two more things to her likes/dislikes/habits etc, but they shouldn't be a big deal ;o;

Suggestions
 i'll think of songs and update this later and ;;
Scene Requests

  • Sometime throughout the story, Min's stance of being an idol in Korea will probably become an issue, especially if netizens and everybody else in the world knows of her friendship with Lu Han, etc. Play this up as much as you want! Have Min be criticized left and right ;u;.
  • Min playing with Lu Han's fingers! Or vice versa. They'll be sitting or standing somewhere and grab the other's hand and just start playing with his/her fingers and it'll be cute.
  • Group outings and having fun!
  • Running man variety show? Or any types of variety show really -- the nicer ones where they can actually show some kind of talent maybe?
  • Min becoming so stressed out she has to call her best friend Jiwool even though she's probably in the middle of studying for exams or something.
  • Lu Han ordering a squadron of his security personnel to follow Min around in China if something is happening. (The man is seriously rich but doesn't act like it. I have no idea what kind of security he has, but it must be good if he literally has no leaks about anything at all since he went back to China unlike Kris and Tao.)
  • Moments between all the groups within Amour-- omg that'll be so cool. I'd actually love that to the tenth degree. Like family concerts or showcase or something. Yes, please.
  • I'LL ADD SOME LATER (within the week?) OMG I'M SORRY (ps. yeah, you don't have to put any of these if it can't work. i understand 100% :))
