Comfortable clothes. In the summer, she wears rather scandalous clothes. For example, shorts that are way too short, shirts that leave her midriff bare, sometimes her outfits might be a bit too much skin and suggestive for her age, etc. In the colder season, however, she couldn't be wearing more clothes. She bundles up tightly with sweatshirts and fur-collared jackets, but underneath is only a t-shirt. Growing up with three brothers, Erin has a very boyish style of dress because she often shared clothes with her twin brother. She likes to wear leather bracelets and bands around her right wrist and a black G-Shock watch on her left wrist (or the bright blue one in this set). My History
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, Kang Minseo, or Erin, was the last child to be born into the Kang family. Not long after she and her twin brother, JunHong, or Johnathan, were born, their family moved to Oklahoma City where they lived in a small, cramped apartment for a while until their father was able to find a job. Kim Seunghwan, an accidental orphan (and twin of iKON's Kim Jinhwan), became a part of their family but not officially. Although there are no official documents of adoption, Seunghwan lived and grew up with the Kangs. When Erin's father found a stable job with a more than comfortable salary, her older brother, SungHyun or Daniel, was transferred into a private high school. After Daniel graduated from high school, he chose to study in a university in South Korea. Johnathan and Erin had just finished middle school and were getting ready for high school when their father's job transfered the family to Seoul, South Korea. By this time, Daniel was enjoying his job working in a University Lab in Electrical Engineering. Erin and Johnathan completed their high school education in a private high school in Gangam.
The Kang twins first discovered their passion for music when they were in 1st grade and their mother found them several different musical instrument, private instructors. By the time they were in middle school, they were famously known as the DueTwins around the school. Once they started high school, the two of them decided to try out for entertainment companies in South Korea. At this point in their supposedly future musical career, the two siblings promised that they would stick together in the Music Industry no matter what. If one was accepted into the compnay but the other was not, they would refuse the offer. If one were to debut before the other, then they would reject it. The two young musicians were admant about keeping this promise throughout their trainee years. With the support of their mother, and some disapproval from their father, the twins began to audition for multiple companies. At this time, Erin's studies began to drop, but Johnathan was able to keep himself at the top of the class. He continued to help her through homework and assignments, but in the end, she would rather sing, or rap, than to spend her time studying at a desk all day long.
In the spring of 2011, the twins (and Seunghwan) were accepted into SM Entertainment to become trainees. Known as the biggest entertainment company in the industry of South Korea, their trainee program was definitely no joke. It turns out that the twins had been accepted not for their musical skills, but rather for their pretty and handsome visuals. Their training consisted of more dancing than vocal training or music lessons much to the twins' dismay. Johnathan, on the contrary to Erin had weak lungs. He trained himself since they were young to be able to sing with a powerful voice, but he was extremely vulnerable to asthma attacks when physically overworked. When Johnathan began to have asthma attacks often as a result of overexertion during dance workshops, Erin decided to terminate their trainee contract. Seunhwan, however, reluctantly stayed because he was scheduled to debut with EXO.
Thet two siblings continued to audition to find a company that would become the right fit for them. In the cold winter of 2011, as Christmas neared, they received a letter offering them a trainee contract at iBigHit Entertainment. Hip Hop music was becoming more and more popular at this time in South Korea and Erin was very enthusiastic about it. She loved the hip hop music that the company produced and she met a boy, a trainee soon to become an idol, at this company. Kim NamJoon, debuted with BTS in 2013 and better known as RapMonster, was one of the trainees she admired the most due to his charismatic rapping and his taste in music. The two of them became rather close as trainees and even composed tracks together. Although they weren't released at that time, Erin kept these compositions with her in her folder and notebooks. At the same time, iBigHit's producers happily worked with Johnathan to further improve his music composition and production. Ultimately, he even had some hand in producing some of BTS's future tracks. The two siblings really enjoyed being trainees under iBigHit, however, when Johnathan was forced to focus on his studies by their parents, the two gave up any hopes of debuting under iBigHit. Since their leave, Erin has kept in close contact with Rap Monster, and the two continue to share their works together, always asking each other for advice or giving each other constructive criticism.
During Johnathan's University Years, Erin found a job as a singer at a local bar. She didn't really wish to continue her studies, so she settled for having her own job instead. One chilly day in the spring of 2013, the twins got into a huge fight about their musical passion. Erin accused her twin of losing his interest in making music with her, to which he responded that he just didn't have the time anymore because of his studies in the university. This fight lasted for several months. One hot and humid day in July, Erin finished her gig at the local bar when she was approached by a young woman, giving her an offer to join a new label: ZODIAC Entertainment. Since she was still angry at her brother and she believed that he broke their promise first, she decided to sign with the record label. Even to this day she still feels guilty for making this choice, even if Johnathan has since then made up with her and tells her often that its not her fault and that he's content with taking her spot at the bar every Friday evening.

1) "Trainee dating JJProject's JB?!" - Before GOT7 debuted and during her time as a trainee under JYP Entertainment, JB and Erin briefly dated. However Erin, deciding she wasn't quite ready for the serious relationship JB was asking for, broke up with him not long after the tabloids caught them out on a date in public.
1) "Are they really dating?! C-Clown's Rome with Starlightz's Erin?" - Rome and Erin met a few times in public. Each time was purely platonic and mostly about Rome's filming and photography. This article came out after the two of them spent the day in a park taking pictures. He was helping her out by teaching her different functions and how to better use her camera. Some of the poses definitely look like they're a couple. However, both parties are quick to respond that they are not dating and are merely close friends.

SMEnt - 4 Months - Life as a tainee under SMEnt was tough on her twin since his asthma acted up more when he was stressed or didn't get enough sleep. SMEnt's program was especially rigorous and when they forced Johnathan to dance, that was where the twins drew the line and left the company. Johnathan was only in it for the music. He couldn't dance very well and he didn't have enough stamina for the difficult choreography.
iBigHit - 1 yr. 3 months - There were two reasons why the Kang twins stayed with iBigHit as long as they did. 1) Erin enjoyed the hip hop that they produced. She especially admired BTS's RapMonster for his charisma in rapping and the two of them became quite close then. Theys till keep in touch, but don't speak together as often as Erin probably wishes. And then 2) iBigHit taught Johnathan how to better produce music and also let him have a hand in producing some of BTS's tracks for a while. They really enjoyed it there, but had to give it up when Johnathan entered a university and needed to focus more on his studies rather than his passion for music.
