Kpop Rant....

On Tao....

1) I still haven't sorted out my personal feelings about this come back post he made and all the things it may or may not mean (which I'll skip here). But just as with Kris and Luhan, Tao is his own person with his own responsibilities and needs. It is unfair of fans (no matter how die-hard we may be) to expect idols not to happily live their own lives. Its what I wish for them most, even if it means not seeing them as idols on screen anymore. At least I'd know they were happy and healthy and doing what felt right to them. I'd much rather see that than to find out later that they suffered for years of their life.

If you have some sort of anger, go express it elsewhere, chat with friends online, etc. DO NOT post things about how you hope Tao will fail (and so many other terrifying things I saw) on his OWN INSTAGRAM. That is childish and cruel.

2) I'll keep writing my fics as I see fit. If I feel like OT12 I'll write it that way. Same with OT11, OT10, or OT9. Its important for a story to come from the heart and thats how I'll write it

On Rap Monster.... (don't know if you guys follow BTS)

Thought I'm not super knowledgeable, it is my understanding that in Korea what is deemed appropriate/acceptable attitudes and comments towards race are much different than in America (and other places in the world). Rap Mon made a comment about the skin color of his band mates. His comment in an American setting would be unbelievably unacceptable and extremely offensive. But we (Americans) also come from a very different history around racial discrimination.

You likely also saw this attitude with jokes about Kai in EXO being 'dark skinned'. And, obviously, the color of someone's skin is very subjective. Kai doesn't seemed 'dark-skinned' at all to me.

My point is this: I'm sure there was no intention to offend anyone. I would hate to see one comment hurt the career of the EXTREMELY TALENTED Rap Mon or BTS. If you were raised around that culture, with those jokes... would you be any different?

No one should be discriminated against for ANY reason, yet it happens. Everywhere. In all countries, in all cities, amongst all cultures.

Please reach out and support Rap Mon and the rest of the members in any way that you can. I'm sure that they feel awful and would never want to hurt their fans.

Thanks for reading my rant...

Both fair points. It's kind of funny how people jump on idols for being offensive and not knowing about what is deemed offensive to international fans while they don't bother trying to see things from a Korean POV. It doesn't make everything ok but it certainly doesn't mean you should abuse them online
