The Story of How I Almost Broke My Face

Soooooo first things first (I'm the realist~), <---- Lame, I know.

Anywho, hey guys. So I went to a pool party earlier this evening with my friends and well....lets just say the night ended with me bruising my face. Yes, you read correctly.

Okay, let me explain.

I'm in the pool, right? And I'm goofing off with my friends, as one does at said pool parties. And me being the dumb -former swimmer-idiot that I am decided to say, "Hey look what I can do!" And swim across the width of the pool.

Now normally, this would have worked out very nicely had I not underestimated the width of the pool....

Side note: In competitive swimming they give you little exercises where you hold your breath and swim the width of the pool back and forth without coming up for air. This was a no brainier for me, I've been able to do it, and do it well, for years.

Back to the story.

So, I dive under the water and push of the side of the pool, kicking my feet like a dolphin would. The other mistake I made? Leaving my hands by my side instead of putting them out in front of me. (You can do it either way: Put them at a point in front of your head with your arms straight or at your side. At your side works better for longer width pools and gives you more speed.)

There I was swimming in the water and thinking, "Yeah that's right I'm a badass." Until my face came in contact with the concrete pool wall.

Yeah. That happened. I literally face planted into the wall of the pool because I underestimated the width.

P.S. I have a nice little bump on my right eye brow and a red spot on my nose. I'll most likely be bruised when I wake up.

The good news is I didn't break my nose, my face is not scratched up, and I didn't have a nose bleed. So I guess it could be worse. Downside of this: my face ing hurts and I might have a mild concussion.

This literally is the worse thing that has probably ever happened to me physically. Like my friend said he was standing close enough to me that he heard the thud when I hit the wall and saw it happen.

Ah well. Cest la Vie.

Well, it's pretty cool you're such a good swimmer. Too bad the wall suddenly decided to show up... I hope you'll feel better soon! ^^
