Apperance + style
—  years of playing football have been kind to trevor; he's tall naturally, but the muscles are all a result of his hard work. his hair is a majestic golden blonde and his eyes are the same green as the sea - or they've been described that way, anyway. (Trevor honestly thinks that those desciptions are going way overboard.) he doesn't like showing his body off, though. trevor is never not wearing flannels, even during summer's hottest days. (if he gets too hot, he's got a t-shirt on underneath.) straight leg jeans and a pair of chuck taylors complete his look, and he never wears anything else. on rare occasions - and by rare, i mean "there's a blizzard outside and it's his only jacket" - you can see him wearing his varsity jacket, but honestly, he avoids the thing if he has to. (The fact that it still fits is a miracle.)

extra┊he's got a scar on his arm from a football accident. it's nasty, and definitely part of the reason he's almost always in a flannel.

personality
- trevor llywelyn is nigh unhateable. his parents raised him to be charming, and does it ever show. he knows the exact way and moment to smile when he's doing business or flirting. he knows how to act around everyone - old people, young people, former teammates  that he never wants to see again, it doesn't matter. he's effortlessly kind and polite, no mater what, even when he doesn't want to be. trevor does have a reputation of being a playboy, but in some situations, he's downright passive. go ahead and make fun of him for being the whitest guy on staff, for his reputation, or for the fact that he's an ex-jock working in a record store. it'll hurt his feelings, maybe, but he figures he doesn't have the right to care. go ahead and walk all over him. but let's be honest - most people aren't making fun of trevor. most people are asking him out on dates. trevor is in love with love and is eternally looking for the perfect match - his perfect match. every girl he gives his phone number to (he'd give it out to guys, too, but he's afraid to do so) is an attempt to find the person who he's going to spend the rest of his life with. you could say he's a hopeless romantic, and he is, but his entire family and all of his friends are in such perfect comitted relationships. if anything, trevor feels lonesome.
- trevor's more than just an all-american boy with a flirty streak. like any other human being, he's got depth to him. he's an extrovert, but only by dictionary definition; he gets energy from being around others and is drained by being alone, but is more on the quiet side of the talkative scale. he avoids conflict with all of his might, despite having the physical strength of captain america, and even  when he should probably be defending his co-workers from the s they're faced with every day. He always thinks before he speaks, (trevor absolutely hates offending people, especially by accident) but most of the time, he'll be stuck thinking for so long that he just doesn't say anything. that, and trevor is never sure of anything. he's always hesitant, asking "is this okay? is it really okay, though?" before doing whatever it is he should be doing.

background
- caron and glynn were childhood friends whilst growing up in wales; they fell in love during secondary school and were married as soon as the both of them were legal. They could've stayed in wales just fine, but the shiny lure of the united states and a friend of glynn's with a tea shop were too bright to ignore. fast-forward to 1959, and the llywelyns have their first child: bevan, a bouncing baby boy. the tea shop, caron's - a quaint little building in springfield, illinois - was successful enough to support the family. four years later, when trevor was born, the tea shop had expanded even farther. a nice older brother, loving parents - the early years of trevor's life weren't bad at all. He was always an active boy, playing in his backyard with his older brother. four years later, when his sister rhiannon was born, the two boys were more than happy to include her. (well, trevor was, anyway. Bevan was eight and was already at his "Girls are icky" phase by then.)
- a fairly uneventful elementary school bled into a fairly eventful middle school. trevor shot up like a rocket and started being serious about sports - football especially. he'd always been a fan of the sport (to slight the displeasure of his parents, who would like at least one of the kids to take over the shop) and found out that hey, he was good at it. three years playing on the middle school team led to being the only freshman on varsity during high school, which was the best and worst part of trevor's life at the same time. being the football team's sole freshman (and later star quarterback) had its perks - teachers understandng late homework, dates with any girl he'd ever want (though he never continued things with most of them), invites to all the parties,  scholarships secured (though he still ended up going to the university of chicago), the complete adoration of the majority of the student body...it was nice to feel appreciated. the drawbacks were more personal than anything else. his teammates were s, total s, to anyone that didn't fit their impossible standards. they'd call girls fat and guys fags without a second thought. trevor never actively joined in the cruelty - his parents had raised him to be kind,  no matter what - but he'd also never do anything to stop it, a fact that he regrets immensely to this day. he hasn't contacted any of his "friends" since graduating high school, and in fact, very few people know he played football at all.
- As i stated above, trevor attends the university of chicago, majoring in education (with a minor in cartology). he's always been interested in teaching, and he's also always been interested in maps. (The fact that he'd potentially like to coach football someday is besides the point. the money his parents set aside for expenses ran out eventually, and trevor needed a job. the "help wanted" sign in the window of reckless records - a store he passed by almost every day while walking to his usual lunch place - was clear as day, and convenient, too. he walked inside and asked about the sign, and boom - he had a job, simple as that. the fact that his boss and at least one of his co-workers are the sorts of people that his teammates would make fun of in school is his way of atoning for his action. (or lack of action, as the case may be.) it's also a way to meet new people - especially those he could potentially start a relationship with. bevan and his girlfriend are happy, and rhiannon and her boyfriend are on the fast track to being high school sweethearts; his roomie is just about head over heels in love with one of the tas of a class he's in, and will not shut up about it. the entire world around him is in love, and he's  still looking for the one.

trivia
- trevor is still a . he can see himself in a romantic relationship with anyone, but has never met somebody he's loved enough to go all the way with. (in other words: he's panromantic and demiual.)  he had one girlfriend in high school - a cheeleader - but they didn't last past it.
- trevor loves his walkman more than anything else on the planet. if you take it away from him, he won't talk to you until you give it back.
- bruce springsteen's "born in the usa" is his favorite album of all time, though he'll probably buy anything with bruce springteen's face on it. (other favorites include tom petty, david bowie and stevie nicks.)
- trevor is close to his entire family, a fact that he's incredibly grateful for.
- for the most part, trevor works as a cashier; he keeps sticky notes in a drawer near the cash register for number-giving-out purposes.
- TREVOr's favorite foods are chicago dogs and scones.
- trevor is a fan of shakespeare - tragedies especially.
- neither trevor nor his siblings have ever been to wales, but they'd like to take a trip there together someday.
- trevor collects maps and puts them on the walls of his dorm, much to the annoyance of his roommate.
- TREVOR visits the tea shop once a month at least.
-the llywelyns are catholic, but non-practicing; none of the children have ever felt a strong connection to the faith.

FAMILY
caron LLYWELYN | 50 | tea shop owner | loyal; honest; precise; ascetic; rigid. | trevor's mother is everything to him. she's the woman who taught him to be kind, and for that, he's eternally grateful. he'd defend his mother faster than he'd defend anyone else in the world, and he's sure she'd do the same for any of her children.
glynn LLYWELYN | 50 | tea shop owner | courageous; dynamic; stubborn; abrasive; blunt.  | his dad is the business guy; he got caron's off the ground, and made damn well sure that all three of his children would have the best upbringings they could possibly have. trevor isn't as close to glynn as he is to caron, but he still respects his old man.
bevan llywelyn | 26 | journalist | clever; cultured; sarcastic; abrupt; irresponsible. | the most exciting moment of bevan's life occured when his parents told him he'd be getting a little brother. bevan is less like a brother, and more like a best friend who trevor just so happened to spend a long stretch of his life living with. he lives in denver now, but they keep in touch.
rhiannon LLYWELYN | 18 | student, part-timer at caron's  | confident; creative; determined; illogical; disorganized. | if anybody that trevor knows ever even thinks about getting close to rhiannon, he won't let them continue for very long. her boyfriend is under as much surveilance as trevor can possibly get, because he can't even think about a guy hurting his little sister.

FRIENDS/RIVALS/LOVE RIVALS/ETC...
andrew courtney | 23 | college student; part-time sandwich maker | insufferable; irritating; talkative; careless; childish. | trevor envies drew a lot more than he'd like to admit. he's just so in love and trevor would like to feel that way about somebody, at some point in time. (andrew is completely oblivious and hates all these maps, dude.)

Love Interest + Back up┊krystal jung (andrew garfield)
Personality┊krystal jung is probably better than you if you exist. she's so effortlessly pretty and cool and has the best taste in music, and that hair! she walks with a spring in her step and poison in . she's honest with everyone all the time, regardless of who you are, and she's way too good at psychoanalyzing people. in fact, she managed to guess that trevor was a jock - a fact which he actively tries to hide from most people. krystal doesn't change the way she feels about people easily - you really have to work if you want to get into her inner circle, which is populated by, like, three people. she's stubborn to the point that it's ridiculous and could make the toughest man in the world cry. krystal jung is on a complete other level. if you do manage to befriend her, you have the most loyal friend you could ever dream of making, but until then...you're in for a world of pain.

Timeline
- los angeles, california - BIRTH TO 18 YEARS
- CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - 18 YEARS TO PRESENT (20)

Relationship┊trevor doesn't even know her name. she knows his, thanks to his nametag. she comes into rr quite often, and she has a tendency to come in during trevor's shifts. he tries to give her his phone number; she says no thank you and walks away. her cruelty towards him just makes his heart beat faster; her judgement of him makes him want to speak up, but he can't. she's a mystery with great music taste and a bright red mane and damn. trevor has never felt this way about any other girl and probably never will. he's always figured that love is supposed to be a collection of sweet moments and little things, but she's not sweet. krystal jung makes trevor question everything he knows, and he honestly really loves it. now, if he could just learn her name...

First meeting┊the first moment that trevor llywelyn laid his eyes on krystal jung, he went for a sticky note right away. she was beautiful, and the album she was buying was something that trevor had heard really good things about. she saw him, and said "no."

"what?"

"i don't want your number, " she said, looking directly at him, her gaze piercing. "I don't want your number, trevor, so it's best you put that pad and your pen away."

trevor's jaw might've dropped. "um," he replied, blinking twice. "are you sure? we can - we can listen to this, I've heard really good -"

"no. have a good day," she said,  and walked out of the shop. trevor's mouth was probably hanging open at that point - half shocked at her coldness, half shocked at the fact that she didn't accept his number.

scene suggestions
- krystal coming in during somebody else's shift and being like, "thank god you're not the annoying guy."
- KRYSTAL finally telling trevor who she is.
- bevan or rhiannon (probably rhiannon seeing as they live in the same state and all) visiting the record shop.
- trevor going on a date with somebody (not necessarily krystal) at caron's.
Comments/questions/concerns┊hello hello! i'll be adding more later because i always do that with applications. and. props to you for making this fic because heck yes, nostalgia! and yay for this taking place in chicago, because this means there can be chicago dogs, which are the best.
if trevor does end up going to his backup love interest, the story is completely different - well, slightly different, anyway. so if that comes to pass. hit me up and let me know?
