Her slightly brownish glistening eyes never left my face. She was staring at me intently, expecting an answer from me since minutes ago. She narrowed her almond shaped eyes once again and she twirled her hair that always smelt like apples and lavender. “Aren’t you going to tell me the truth?” She popped the same question to me again as her face remained with the cold expression.

I tapped the table lightly with my fingers and leaned on the table to get closer to her face. The fragrance of her scent was overwhelming but I remained my composure, as usual. I smirked teasingly at her, “Am I compelled to give you a definite answer?”

She wasn’t convinced by me. She leaned even closer and glared at me this time. She spoke with much authority but I wasn’t surrendering into her hands, “Even if you don’t want to give me an answer, I will believe in what I think. You’re definitely different. I know it. I sense it, Hwang Chan Sung.”

She called my full name again. She always did that when she was stubborn towards me. She was right. I was different. And when I thought she was dumb, she understood what was going on about me. I had tried so hard to keep this a secret and even my family didn’t know it but she had only known me for eight months. She was more observant that I thought. I was behaving calmly on the outside but on the inside, I was battling with myself on whether I should just admit and give in to her.
