“I still remember the first time we met, I was sitting peacefully at the park bench when your dog peed on my shoes.”

 

 

 

 

 

I was on my last year before graduating, I have to pass my thesis defense before graduating. I was having a group study with my mates at my house.

 

 

 

“Soo, Have you done reviewing? Gosh, I'm so tired!” My best friend Yuri said as she stretched her hands and yawned

 

 

“Not yet...Gee, I'm really going to set up a bon fire for these damn papers after graduation!” I said as I crampled a little the reviewers I was holding

 

 

“Yeah, right...Let me join you. I'll bring my books too!” My other friend Jessica said as she played games on her phone

 

 

“Jessie, why don't you just donate your books to the needy? It's a win win situation. You will be able to dispose your books and be charitable as well!” Hyoyeon said as she continued typing on her laptop

 

 

 

“Hyoyeon’s right...plus, it's more economical. I mean the prices of those books are so damn expensive. You don't want to see your money burn into ashes don't you?” Sunny said as she checked herself out on the mirror

 

 

 

“How can Jessica donate her book to the charity? It's full of highlights and drawings plus her doodles of the name of her crush!” I laughed out loud

 

 

 

“Yah! Shut up Soo.” Jessica said as she threw a pillow on me

 

 

 

“Well, if the text is still readable I cannot see anything for why it could not be donated to charity.” Sunny said as she sat beside me

 

 

 

“Sunny, where do you want to go after graduation?” I asked her as I held her hands

 

 

 

“I'll look for a job but my father has been recommending a position for me in his company so if I haven't found a job better than that, I'll take it. How about you?” Sunny said as she lean on my shoulders

 

 

 

 

“I have no plans yet as of this moment...” I said as I kissed her forehead

 

 

 

“Soo, you should plan out your life or you'll miss out your chances.” she said as she looked at me

 

 

 

“I'll try...” I said to her as I smiled

 

 

 

 

I can see she's a bit disappointed at me. Sunny's my girlfriend ever since freshman year. We started of as best friends but I told her I liked her, I'm just glad that she accepted me. Her father's a rich man who owns a company. Sunny is smart, disciplined and organized, we are so different from each other.

 

 

 

Then, there comes a time we had been waiting for, the graduation.

 

 

 

 

“Whooooo! At last, thank you Almighty God for saving my grades and letting me graduate!!!” Yuri said as she jumped like a kid

 

 

 

“Yeah, damn you thesis! You're so hard but I'm tougher than you!!!” Jessica said as she hugged Yuri

 

 

 

“Bon fire at 7pm on school's quadrangle!!!” I announced

 

 

 

“Whooooooohoooo!!!” Everybody cheered

 

 

 

“So, what now?” Sunny said

 

 

 

“I'm going to miss you my dearest friends who were kind enough to adopt a loner and quiet girl  like me...” Hyoyeon faked sobbed

 

 

 

“Loner your face! And what quiet are you talking about? We've been kicked out of school library because of you!” I said as I laughed out loud, my friends laughed with me

 

 

 

“Let's catch up soon and keep in touch alright?” Jessica said as she's tearing a bit

 

 

 

 

 

 

“Okay, group hug!” Yuri said

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's been two weeks after graduation, I tried to contact Sunny but she isn't replying to my messages. I just heard it from my friends that she went to US to pursue her master's degree. I tried my best to understand her. I still send her messages on her facebook and kakao. 

 

 

 

 

“Hi Sunny baby! I hope you're doing fine in US. I do understand you don't worry... Please send me some message some time? I love you, take care -Sooyoungie”

 

 

 

 

I sighed heavily as I sent the message. Maybe Sunny will come back to me when I finally found a job and plan out my life and so I did, I looked for job.

 

 

 

 

I thought being a student is the hardest thing in human life but I was wrong. It was looking for a job to sustain survival and standard of living of men. Why? Let me tell you what happened...

 

 

 

 

I was a fresh grad from a normal university. Well, I am not one of those students who has straight A's on their cards but I am not also one of those students who take education for granted. I guess, I'm just somewhere in the middle...An average kind.

 

 

 

 

 

I went to my first job interview

 

 

 

 

“We'll just give you a call... Next please!”

 

 

 

 

My second job interview

 

 

 

 

“I'm sorry but you're not just the one we're looking for”

 

 

 

 

My third job interview, I got a feeling that I will pass.

 

 

 

 

“Hmmm... I see you have a good communication skills eh?” the employer said

 

 

“Thank you” I bowed down

 

 

 

“But you're wearing black... Black is not good for business...it represents bad luck. Sorry miss.” 

 

 

 

 

WHAT THE FU#%?!? I JUST WORE BLACK AND I LOSE A JOB OPPORTUNITY BECAUSE OF THOSEBELIEFS THAT CLEARLY HAS NO BASIS TO PROVE IT! WHAT DOES BLACK HAS TO DO WITH My JOB PERFORMANCE? 

 

 

 

 

Nevertheless, I keep my composure and just bowed down and left the company.

 

 

 

 

I went home and checked my phone, I saw that Sunny had seen my message but she did not replied. What? After you left me without a word, you'll seen zone me?!? I saw that your online so I gave her a call. I'm glad she picked it up.

 

 

 

 

“Sunny baby!” I said

 

 

 

 

“Hmmm...” only thing she said right after everything she did to me, but still. I'm hopelessly devoted to her. Hearing her voice made me teared up a bit

 

 

 

“H-How are you?”

 

 

 

 

“Good and you?.” she said

 

 

 

 

“I miss you...” I said as I wiped the tears in my eyes
