Seventeen year old Cheon Ri-Na has been extremely shy ever since she started pre-school. Although she is shy, she always gets the highest test score out of the whole school and is a famous online writer who writes fan-fiction about her favorite Korean Idols. 

Seventeen year old Jeon Jeong-Guk is the flower boy with that "ego" that all girls at Inchun High School fall head over heels for.

All girls except Cheon Ri-Na.

Although they are in the same class, Ri-Na never really pays much attention to anybody or anything except for her notebook.

Jeong-Guk also doesn't take notice of the "quiet" girls of the class; and interestingly, he has never had a girlfriend neither.

The Lonely Tree, as Ri-Na would call it, took away all her loneliness and gave her a friend- a friends that she couldn't see but can communicate through letters. The person that she talks to would call himself, "Golden 1" (Jeongguk). The two of them first communicated with each other about inspiration for the fan fictions, but their relationship eventually grew within the letters they would write to each other.

One night, as Ri-Na was heading home from her stroll in the park, she ended up saving Jeon Jeongguk's life. But Rina ends up being hospitalized for months with amnesia and a broken leg. But being hospitalized wasn't as lonely as she though it would be. Jeongguk, who is pretty aware of the cause Rina's hospitalization, visits her regularly-with his friend, Nam Joon. But the stubborn Jeongguk does not admit or show is apology towards Rina. Nam Joon, however, does take care of and keeps Rina company every day after school. Jeongguk, instead of being worried about Rina-who saved his life- he is more worried about his letter buddy who hasn't been replying to his letters.

As time went on, the relationship between the three of them begins to grow into a love triangle. Jeongguk who is arrogant and have a hard time to express his feelings while Nam Joon is steps and steps closer to Rina. 

How will the story end? Why did Rina stop replying to "Golden 1"? What happened to Rina? Will the eventually meet each other?
