"Why?"
"She has a boyfriend, Chanyeol. She has a ing boyfriend who is not me. And she's going to leave me soon. I just know it."
"Kris, she's four. Four years olds don't have boyfriends."
"Tell that to her!"

Prologue

The cafe was already bustling with customers when Chanyeol walked in Monday morning. He wasn't worried on not finding a table because he knew Kris was already waiting for him. After briefly greeting Minseok the barista and confirming his usual vanilla latte, he heads to the secluded area where he knew the other would be and as expected, Kris was seated in a secluded booth. What he didn't expect was the deep scowl on the man's face.

"Dude, I know you hate Mondays but that's not how you should start your day. Especially when you're about to have coffee with me." Chanyeol said as he slid into the booth.

"I'm doomed! Hana's going to leave me soon." Kris replied, his tone serious and deadly.

Chanyeol frowned at this, immediately feeling worried. "What? Why?"

"She has a boyfriend, Chanyeol. She has a ing boyfriend who is not me. And she's going to leave me soon. I just know it."

Chanyeol did not expect that either.

"Kris, she's four. Four years olds don't have boyfriends." he deadpanned.

"Tell that to her!"

Amused, Chanyeol let out a bark of laughter earning him looks from the other customers. He was still trying to get down from his high when Minseok came over with his vanilla latte and the barista chuckled when he saw the deadly glare in Kris's eyes.

"You guys are exceptionally bright this morning," Minseok commented, earning another round of laughter from Chanyeol and a low growl from Kris. "What's all this about?"

"Kris here is fretting about his daughter leaving him." Chanyeol told him, slowly calming down.

"Her name's Hana, right? Why would Hana leave you? Did something happened?"

"Yeah, apparently she has a boyfriend."

Kris sighed upon hearing the amused chuckle coming from the barista. "You guys can laugh all you want now. Wait till you have your own daughter."

"Well, I'm glad I'm gay then." Minseok laughed and threw him a wink before going back to work.

Chanyeol laughed and shook his head but stopped when he saw the distant look on Kris's face. "Oh hey, don't worry about it. Hana still has more than ten years to go before she starts seeing guys. And even then, I doubt she'll leave you, Kris. She's your daughter."

"But-"

"And like I said, four years olds don't have boyfriends." Chanyeol told him.

"Apparently she does! She was just telling me this morning that when her birthday comes, she's going to invite this Jongsoo, Jongout, Jongin- whatever his name was! - and marry him when they get older! Like what the , man?" Kris grumbled, gritting his teeth.

"She's a baby. She doesn't know what boyfriends are. And dude, what's there to be worried about? It's not like they're going to have ."

I should really learn to think before I talk, he thought to himself when Kris face-planted his handsome face onto the table with much force. Eyeing the surface of the table, Chanyeol sighed and took a sip of his latte. Poor table.. I hope it's okay.
