'Selfish.'

 

Joo Yeon’s P.O.V

 

I was in the hallway with Park Yoon Mi.

She was so mad at me.

Because of Jungkook obviously.

We were in a middle of the crowd.

I felt so humiliated.

“Yoon Mi, let’s not do this here-”

“Wae? You’re embarrassed? Why aren’t you embarrassed when you steal Jungkook from me?” She cuts me off.

“wooo..” They cheered.

“I did not-”

“You boyfriend stealer!” She pushed me until I hit my back on the wall.

“Ouch.” I whimpered.

“How could you do that?! He’s mine!”

She steps on my shoes and I groaned.

“You’re so cheap!” She grabs my hair when I was about to bend down.

Now I’m mad too.

I spent half an hour just to tie up my hair!

“Yah! He was never even yours!” I yelled at her face.

Oops.

She held up a hand, ready to slap me.

I held my breath, shutting my eyes tight.

“Yah, Park Yoon Mi. What are you doing?”

I opened my eyes and gasped.

It was Kai.

Suddenly, I was dragged away by someone.

I looked up.

“Jeon Jungkook.” I said.

He wrapped his arms around my shoulder, pulling me close to him as we passed the crowds.

“What happened?” He whispers.

I pulled myself away from him as soon as we got into the class.

“Park Yoon Mi attacked me again.” I crossed my arms.

“Ani, not that. Why did Kai help you?”

My face fell.

“I don’t know.”

“That’s weird.”

“Jungkook, she attacked me.” I repeated.

“Why did he actually help you?”

“Oh gosh.”

I rolled my eyes and sat on my seat.

“Are you okay?” He finally asked and sat next to me.

“uh, no.”

“Is your back hurting?” He asked again.

I felt butterflies in my tummy as he placed his hand on my back, up and down.

I looked away, hiding the red shades on my cheeks.

“Mianhae, I was late.” I heard his regretful sigh.

I looked at him and our eyes met.

“Heol, thanks for realizing that.”

He chuckled.

I frowned when he pulled down my hair tie.

“Yah, Jeon Jungkook-”

“It’s already a mess.” He cuts me off before I start babbling.

“You know how long did it take for me to-”

I froze when he my hair with his fingers.

I felt my tummy twisting as he leaned closer.

“30 minutes? I know. I can do it in 3 seconds.”

I stayed still as I felt him tying up my hair.

“You’re a girl you should be good at this.” He said, leaning back on his chair.

I took my phone and check on myself.

Oo neat.

“Wow Jeon Jungkook. You’re better than me.”

“Well, I tie my baby sister’s hair often, so yeah.”

The image of him tying his sister’s hair into a ponytail appeared on my mind.

I smiled to myself.

The other students start to come in the class.

Mr Kim came in and told me to hand out the books.

And I did it.

I stopped at Kai’s table and put his book on his table without looking at him.

I moved on to the back.

Until I felt someone pulling my hair tie, letting my hair fall freely.

I turned around, just to see Kai standing there holding my hair tie.

“Yah-”

“You look prettier with your hair down.” He said.

“Woooo..” The others who heard teased.

It felt so weird that I think I felt goosebumps.

I was dumbfounded.

I blinked, processing my thoughts.

I quickly took my hair tie from his hand and walked away.

I handed out the rest of the books quickly then sat down.

“What the heck is wrong with him?” Jungkook groaned. His tone full of jealousy.

I stared at his sour face.

I smirked amusingly.

“What are you looking at?” He glares and I chuckled.

“Don’t be so obvious Jeon Jungkook.” I said, teasingly.

He wrapped his right arm around my shoulder.

I stopped breathing for a sec.

And now he’s teasing me.

“How can I not be? You’re my girl.” He said. Slightly loud, on purpose.

Another, “Woooo..” By our classmates.

I rolled my eyes, pulling myself from him.

“Idiot.” I glared.

I frowned when I felt his knuckles hit the top of my head.

“Yah-”

“Mian, my fault.” He said sarcastically.

I stepped his feet and he grimaced.

I squinted my eyes as he furrows his eyebrows at me.

“Mian, my fault.” I imitated him.

He rolls his eyes.

 

“You’re an idiot, admit it.” I said, walking towards my locker with Jungkook.

“Heol, I’m an idiot? Remember who’s in the last place on our grade?”

I stopped walking and faced him.

I frowned. It’s me.

“Yah- You je-”

Before I could even finish my words,

Jungkook leaned in and pecked on my lips.

My eyes widen. I was so shocked.

I felt my body freeze but my legs weak.

What .. just.. happened?

There it goes again, those ty butterflies.

My ears are burning, my heart is going to explode any minute now.

“Baby mianhae~” He chirped sweetly.

I’m going to faint.

I realize the people who were passing by, staring.

And I remember about our fake relationship.

That’s when it slapped me back to reality.

I almost believed it was real. Almost.

I shook my head, forcing myself to smile.

“A-ah, it’s okay.” I said, continuing my steps.

I felt his arms wrapping my shoulder.

He leaned in and whispered in my ears.

“They will feel weird if they see you cursing at me. Don’t you think?”

 

It was P.E class.

I was in the classroom alone, going through my backpack.

I took out my P.E shirt and sweatpants.

I heard footsteps and I turned around.

It was Kai.

He stood there for a second when he saw me then proceeds to his seat to take his things.

I watched him fumbling on his bag then leave.

It’s getting weirder.

Why isn’t he bullying me?

 

Kai’s P.O.V

 

I sat on the seats on the pavilion.

I saw Lu Han running over to me and sat by my side.

“Hey, you sick?” He asked.

“No.” I shook my head.

“Then what’s wrong?”

“What do you mean? I’m fine.”

“Why aren’t you bothering her?” He nudges.

I looked at him.

“I just did.”

“Well yeah, 2 weeks ago.” He frowns.

“Enough, go away.”

“What’s the next plan?”

“Let’s just stop.”

“What? That’s not funny dude. Seriously, what’s next?”

“Nothing. I had enough.” I answered.

“What? Why?” He asked.

I rolled my eyes.

“Nothing.”

“There’s gotta be a reason.”

“It’s not fun anymore.”

“Ani, it’s not that. You’re in love with her now, huh?”

“Just go back there and-”

“Answer me. You’re in love with her now that you can’t even stand to hurt her again!”
