A Rose In Bloom
Description
'Our love is like a rose, beautiful when it's in bloom, but it can't last forever...'
Life couldn't have gotten any worse than it was. Her parents were getting divorced, which forced them to move to Korea in order to start a new life without them. Living in a whole new country with different people, no friends, and where the school's education program was completely different, Jang Eunmi could not imagine things getting worse than this.
"He's the reason I’m still breathing today, he’s the one that gave me a second chance at this
existence we call life..."
Characters:
Lee EunMi
Age: 17
An emotional, sensitive yet optimistic girl, Eunmi tries to see the bright
side to starting a whole new life. Being the youngest in her family, she's
very shy and doesn't like attention, causing her to be very quiet in school,
and isn't able to make friends easily. She's also having troubles adjusting
to her new school's standards.
Jo YoungMin
Age: 17
The school's kingka. Seemingly self-centered, rude and acts like a
complete jerk. He's mean towards people whom he assumes would
bring down his reputation, and absolutely hates new-comers. What
people don't know is that he's actually really smart and can sometimes
be a softy.
Lee JeongMin
Age: 18
Being the oldest child in the Lee family, Jeongmin had to grow up fast.
Not only did he have highschool exams, and university entry exams to
worry about, he also had to take care of his two younger siblings, Eunmi
and Minwoo. He's sweet, kind and smart and is extremely protective over
his younger sister.
Lee MinWoo
Age: 18
Although he's the same age as Jeongmin, people still consider him as
a young child. He doesn't mind because either way, he's still the middle
child of the Lee family. There are times when he'll prove them wrong though,
considering he's a great older brother to Eunmi, and can be really protective
just like his hyung. He's nice, sweet, and despite his huge personality, he's
actually really shy like his dongsaeng. He loves to dance, and isn't
patient.
Shim HyunSeong
Currently in his first year of university, Hyunseong experiences for the first
time how difficult it is to handle assignments, exams and not to forget his
younger sister, Hyojung. He's shy, loves to eat, and singing is his favourite
hobby.
Jo KwangMin
Age: 17
Being Youngmin's twin, you'd think that people would mistaken them for
the other, but nope. Jo Kwangmin was the complete opposite to his twin
brother. He's out-going, caring, and most importantly, nice. Unfortunately
for him, Youngmin is more confident around girls, whereas Kwangmin has
been crushing on a girl for some time now.
Kim DongHyun
Age: 22
Living alone with his younger sister, Donghyun is practically an adult.
He's rarely home, spending his time either at the library studying, or being
with his loving girlfriend. He's sweet, caring and has a great personality.
Kim ChoHee
Age: 19
Eunmi's next door neighbour and Donghyun's little sister. Going through
her first year of university, Chohee struggles as she balances her assignments,
work and having a huge crush on a guy who seems to never leave her mind.
She's friendly, kind and soon becomes great friends with Eunmi.
Hwang YunJi
Age: 18
Although Yunji is an only child, she has never considered herself as lonely.
Constantly busy with school clubs, assignments and piano lessons, she never
had time for irrelevant things. Unfortunately, she soon stumbles upon her
greatest struggle: falling in love for the first time.
Shim HyoJung
Age: 17
Known as Hyunseong's little sister, or the girl who's madly in love with donuts.
Hyojung is sweet, funny and despite saying she's not, she's actually incredibly smart.
She has a passion for drawing and has a rock solid heart that no one is able to
easily penetrate... That is, until a seemingly obnoxious person came into her life.
Yoon Jinhee
Age: 17
Jinhee is a very confusing girl to understand. She's upbeat, unique and just plain
crazy. She loves to watch dramas, and every time you see her, she would either
be studying, or lost in her music. Jinhee can also be a bit oblivious, and at times
she would need a little nudge to get her back on track.
Foreword
"Leave for all I care!"
"Fine!"
With a slam of the door, he left. Little Eunmi went up to her mother who was crouching down on the kitchen floor.
"Umma, where is appa going?"
She looked up and caressed her daughter's cheek. "He's just going to Grandma's house."
"I want to go too!" Eunmi exclaimed.
"Maybe next time sweetie."
Lying in bed while staring at the ceiling, Eunmi tried to block out the yelling from downstairs. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
Present time...
"So it's finally happening huh?" Eunmi said to herself as she looked outside her bedroom window. The moving truck was outside; workers carrying Eunmi's, Jeongmin's and Minwoo's belongings.
Minwoo knocked on her door. "Eunmi-ah, are you done packing?"
"Yeah I'm done."
"Hey, don't worry. Umma already enrolled us in a highschool and we've finished paying the bills for the new house." Minwoo tried to brighten up the situation.
"But why do we have to move?!" Eunmi sat down on her bed.
Minwoo went over and hugged her tightly. "Things will get better soon."
'That's what Jeongmin oppa said before... But things will never get better.' Eunmi thought to herself.
