With the government fully backing what has come to be known as Project X, The Rebels are forced to do all they can in their power to save young, possible mutants from their grasp. No one knows for sure which side will truly win, but what they do know is that NO MUTANT IS SAFE.

FULL PLOT

No one could ever forget when the solar flare exploded and the comet fell. Earth was filled with blood as the comet clawed its way towards the Tree of Life, sending various wavelengths on Earth, projecting a red visage of glittering lights dancing across the wondrous Tree of Life. Fascination hit those who had witnessed the comet, but eventually a draft of death blankets filled the air and the red glittering light surrounding the Tree of Life turned vitriolic violet, sending an aggressive radioactive wavelength that knocked everyone around it, seemingly killing them.

The light of the moon and the searing steam of the sun illuminated in a mixture of crimson and purple. Suddenly, the Tree of Life burst into flames; hues of brilliant blues and vividly vitriolic violets consumed it whole. Smoke blanketed the scent of burning wood as it filled the air. The Tree of Life now destroyed only contained blistering comet fragments, a form of holy miracle described by others even to this day. As seemingly impossible as it sounds, those who were affected by the explosion rose from their unconscious state, their pulses that had stilled gained rhythm once again and their hearts that had stopped beating, once again returned to life. It was as if nothing had happened, but in reality the violent blast had cracked the bridge between man and the unknown. Everything from then on changed even if those affected continued on with their normal lives as they were cleared to do so, but the truth never stayed buried for long, and before they knew it they realized something was amiss. Strange things began to happen around them. Out of them and because of them. Suddenly, they weren't just human, they were m o r e.

Where there is smoke, however, there is fire and it wasn't long before the government caught a hold of what was in their midst. Humans with advanced abilities able to conquer the impossible, fulfilling humanity's sole fear of being conquered, devoured and dethroned by species with more power than they can ever wish to obtain. For the government, it wasn't about discovering how to help their citizens, but instead it was an opportunity to harvest power and spread the length of their reaches. It wasn't long before Project X was developed, which quickly grew into a legion of expert scientists brought in from across the globe. They wanted these scientists to gather information and obtain the key in order to manufacture their very own army of super soldiers, which would guarantee them their absolute control, not daring to care beyond the ethical issues and the human rights of their citizens involved.

For generations, Project X worked on mutants they've captured, pushing beyond their limit and discovering common issues behind mutations, successfully unveiling that the only way to awaken a sleeping mutation was to push the dormant anomaly past their limits of survival. Mutant abilities were triggered by survival instinct and when it was discovered that mutation carried on through bloodlines, their plan was to round up every unborn child and possible carrier until the breeding could happen from within their supervision. It was inhumane, but to those who never saw these mutants as anything more than cannon fodder and lab rats, it was an easy enough thing to do. Mutants were tortured and killed for the sake of science, as it meant a better and brighter future for the unaffected humans. The government approved barbaric but necessary actions and these scientists held no restraint to any form of action they believed needed to take place.

That was how the lives of mutants continued on, which gave birth to the impenetrable Rebellion. From inside Project X, a small group of rebellious scientists put into a ploy, hoping this would lead to the full on destruction of the project. From wiping files and releasing newly captured mutants, in the end, Project X was left with only redacted files and a group of mutants that stood loyal to them. The Rebellion, however, had with them a few mutant children and led their partisan to look for more possible mutants. Backed with some of the richest scientists involved, the Rebellion flourished and grew into a fortress involving the strongest mutants alive.

However, now in 2016, the odds are even once again. With the government fully backing what Project X once had and the Rebels doing all they can in their power to save the young, possible mutants from their grasp, no one knows for sure which side will truly win. What they do know however, is that NO MUTANT IS SAFE.

Player Guide

These rules are meant to be followed, not neglected

I. General Rules

01. Marriage, m-preg, and normal pregnancy are not allowed. Character death is not allowed unless you are changing face claims or leaving.
02. Absolutely no godmodding, metagaming or anything of the sort. Your character is not a god, nor are you in any position to dictate another character’s action other than your own. Please do not abuse the power limit a character has, and take into consideration that your mutation should not be too overpowered. They are still human.
03. No acronyms or emoticons allowed while roleplaying, also avoid using romanized Korean besides terms of address (unni, oppa, noona, hyung), as it's neither necessary nor accepted.
04. PM roleplaying is forbidden. We highly encourage people to RP in groups and keep PM for plotting purposes only.
05. Please do not get IC and OOC mixed up. Do not suddenly connect your character with your OOC life.
06. Activity is very important and very vital in a roleplay, so we ask for you to be on for at least 3-4 times a week, either plotting or replying to plots. Keep in mind that we aren’t the type of people to rush people to write, but we do ask of you to show us you’re active.
07. When leaving or going on hiatus please notify an admin. It's polite to unfriend and leave the groups before leaving.
08. The OOC age limit for people to join is 17 or above. Your face claims actual age must be 17 and above or turning 17 this year and the limit for the IC age is the same. We do ask for you to be realistic with the ages as well. If your faceclaim is a minor, we ask if you can keep the age the same or just aging it up a year.
09. This is an AU (alternative universe) roleplay. Please develop your character based off the information and setting we provide. Meaning, no canon characters from any marvel movies or comics. While you can still roleplay as Chris Evans or James McAvoy, we ask that you do not associate them as Captain America or Professor X because in this universe they do not exist. The Avengers or X-men, or any other Marvel affiliated teams do not exist.
10. We ask that you please make a bio for your character, but also to take your time on this! There's absolutely is no need to finish it as soon as you arrive. It is also optional but please make an OOC note to give others an idea of the person behind the muse! (if clueless look at one of the admin's).
11. Absolutely no one liners. This is a literate, para and novella roleplay. We want to see details and character development. If someone has given you a lengthy reply then please put in just as much effort. Even with open starters, make sure you are stating the setting and situation of how you will be meeting another person.
12. Unless it is plotted please keep the IC drama to a minimum (plotting is highly encouraged to avoid such matters). OOC drama isn't allowed. Problem or not, don't be afraid to approach the admin team!
13. Mature plots (, kidnap, , etc) are allowed anywhere just make sure to have the full agreement of the other rper and place a trigger warning on the post.
14. Pseudonyms is optional as long as they are realistic and mentioned in your bio.
15. We do not allow duplicates of powers. No one has the same power, and any taken ability can be found on the masterlist. If unsure of what kind of power you want this website might help you, or message us and we'll do our best to help you out! Please also make sure to look at the blacklisted powers so we can try to avoid the issue of telling you to change powers.
16. And lastly PLEASE respect each other and have fun!!!

II. How To Join

01. Read ALL information that is provided and the rules. This is very important because if you do not, then you will not understand the concept of this roleplay.
02. Please subscribe and upvote (only if you have enough karma points).
03. Choose an available face claim from the masterlist.
04. The application is a two part process, in which Part 1 happens in the form and Part 2 is just copying and pasting on the comment section. Part 1 is easy, just fill out the application linked below. Part 2, is the tricky part. As stated in the application, you have to copy and paste the first thing you filled out, after the aff information you provided, in the comment section. You may also reserve a character in order to have time to fill out your application form but these reservations will only last for 24 hours.

Going into further detail

With the comet hitting what the scientists refer to as the Tree of Life the tests proved the tree to be the origin of the mutations, it was only logical for the center of mutant organization to be held at its origin, Seoul, South Korea. The mutations, of course, have proved to be world wide with the possible mixing of ethnicities and non-native tourists being witness to the comet's blast, but the statistics stand with the highest number of mutants appearing in South Korea, and that is where the main activity continues to take place. As of now, there are 3 main groups of categorized mutants.

Paths of Dissonance is an original mama / X-men themed roleplay established on June 16, 2015 and is founded by Sehun, Taehyung, and Jeongguk.
