Prologue:

“Blue!”

“Red!”

I groaned for the 12^th time before finally giving up on sleep. I took a deep breath and got-up from the bed. I didn’t care that I probably had the worst bed hair or that my eyes were bloodshot red because of the lack of sleep.

I wore my black silk pajamas and walked out of my room barefooted.

Hi! My name is Jung Min. All I ever wanted was to be a normal guy. I wanted to live in a normal house, go to a normal school and live with normal people. But no. I had to live with abnormality. You see for hundreds of years my family was tasked to be the caretakers of Piety Manor, the home for “special” beings.

How special? Well, you’re about to find out.

I stood in the living room where two vamps were in a heated argument. Yes, you read right, vamps as in vampires. Piety Manor is the home for special beings. They are beings that have special needs. For hundreds of years the Manor had been taken care of by my family whom are called “Watchers”. We watch over these special beings and cater to their needs. Most of the beings that lived in the Manor were nocturnal, hence when I was about to turn in for the night, it’s also the time they wake up and make life a living nightmare.

Now there are two vamps standing before me. One had short brown hair and the other blonde. Both were tall and lean. They stood in front of each other and exchanged death glares.

“Blue!”

“Red!”

“Blue!”

“Red!”

“Blue!”

“Red!”

I took another deep breath and counted up to ten.

“Tao, Kris… what are you two arguing about?” I asked them trying to be patient as possible.

“Minnie! Good that you’re here! Would you please tell Tao that the sky’s color during daytime is blue. He keeps insisting that it’s red.” Kris told me.

“It’s red I tell you. I saw it in a magazine.” Tao insisted.

I ran a hand over my face and tried to stop myself from yelling at them. They woke me up in the middle of the night for this? Aish!

“Kris, Tao… you are both right. The sky is blue when it’s morning and noon. It turns red-orange at sunset.” I answered them.

Before we could utter another word, a flying frying pan went past above our heads and hit the wall not far from us. Pots and pans followed after. Finally a short boy whose hair was on fire flew past us. I slapped my forehead and swore under my breath. I’m going to have a hell of a time cleaning all of this in the morning. I went towards the boy, grabbed the nearest flower vase and poured its contents on him extinguishing the fire.

“Whew! Thanks Minnie.” The boy said wiping his face with his hand.

“Baekhyun, how many times must I tell you to practice magic in the training room… where it is safe… for all of us?” I told him.

“We were practicing at the training room but then I got hungry, then Chanyeol offered to cook something… then he thought it was hassle to manually do it… then he used magic… but got the spell wrong… then the next thing I knew I was…” Baekhyun explained.

I ran a hand over my face again. It was a mess in the living room and I could only imagine in what state the kitchen was.

“Minnie? Your face is turning red.” Tao told me.

Of course it was turning red! My patience was thinning, I lacked sleep and I had chores in the morning! These idiots are driving me crazy! I closed my eyes and counted up to ten. Then without saying anything, I turned around and headed back to my room. I tuned out every noise and sound. I willed myself to sleep, putting away all thoughts of what happened tonight.

It was the same day after day, night after night. Chaos ruled the Manor and we Watchers were the ones to clean up whatever mess there is. I was an only child, like most Watchers and my parents had died a few years ago. I lived in the Manor as the only human surrounded by vampires, werewolves and witches. Day after day, night after night I wished for my life to be normal. I should be a teenager going to school, meeting friends, fighting with their parents, sleeping in class… normal stuff. Yet, I loved with twelve totally abnormal beings. It would have been fine if they acted like what their species should act. Yet… they are different.

Let me explain. As I have mentioned I live with twelve abnormal beings.

There’s Wu Yifan or Kris, the third oldest in the Manor being one thousand years old. Kris is a vampire but doesn’t like to blood. Instead he drinks it in a glass. If that isn’t weird enough, he drinks it with cola.

There’s Huang Zitao or Tao, a Chinese vampire. He and Kris are almost inseparable. While Kris is a vamp that drinks blood in a glass, Tao prefers to hunt. He doesn’t hunt alone though because he’s afraid of almost anything. He even needs someone to take a bath with him much to Kris’s dismay since Kris always joins him.

There is also Kim Junmyeon or Suho, the richest vampire in the country. Because of his vast wealth, he’s the one that owns the Manor and all the surrounding lots. His family is also an influential sect in the Underworld. Nothing weird about that, right? Well, Suho is the so-called guardian of all the beings in the Manor. That means he’s the leader. Suho is the leader but no one takes him seriously. No matter how angry he seems or how serious he gets no one pays attention to him. Sometimes I pity him.

The youngest of the vamps is Kim Jongin or Kai. Kai is only seven hundred years old. He is also a hunter. Kai is overly jealous of everything that he owns. If sets his eyes on something and someone, he has to have it or else no one can. One of his quirks however is that despite being a vamp instead of having pale skin he has dark brown skin which he hates.

Then there are the wolves. The oldest being in the Manor is Kim Minseok or Xiumin. He’s a werewolf and head of the werewolf pack in the Manor. Xiumin appears cute and cuddly but in reality he’s one of the strongest fighters in the Manor. Xiumin is a coffee addict which is the source of his problem during the day when he wants to sleep.

Then there’s Luhan, a Chinese werewolf that is almost the same as Xiumin. Luhan however appears innocent and delicate but has a nasty temper. Once you get on his bad side, you’d better run for your life.

There’s Zhang Yixing or Lay. He is also a werewolf who is probably the strangest of all the werewolves in the Manor. Lay is kind-hearted and hard-working. But he is also forgetful and prefers to sleep rather than hunt.

The last of the wolves is Oh Sehun. Sehun came from the European Manor Branch which is why he’s a bit different from the rest of the wolves. He doesn’t use formalities and has a sharp tongue. He can be cute however which is why everyone tolerates his rudeness.

Lastly, there are the witches. They are the source of my headache. The witches often use their magic which always ends up with something blowing up or worse.

The oldest of them is Byun Baekyun. Baekhyun is a witch that specializes in conjuring the elements. He has mastered all of them… except fire which is why his hair was on fire earlier.

Then there is Chen or Kim Jongdae. He is the resident troll. Chen specializes in illusions.

The worse of them all is Chanyeol. Chanyeol has the ability to control minds and telekinesis. He is the resident happy virus and number one prankster. With the three combined no one is safe.

There is also Do Kyungsoo. Though Kyungsoo is also a witch, he often uses his abilities to create things. There was one time he created a giant robot out of ramyun. The whole Manor was almost destroyed because of it.

So, as you can see, with these “special beings” in the Manor, my hands are full 24/7. Sometimes, I curse the day that I was born a watcher. Could you blame me? Try living with abnormality, I am sure you’ll agree.

Hi everyone! It's me Anika with my second story featuring EXO. Since I'm pretty much stuck with my other story (all the angst is getting me depressed)... I decided to post a "happier" story. Hopefully, I will be successful with this one. I dont write much comedy but I sure will try to write a good story. I hope you guys will enjoy this story.
