Lost in This Moment

Description

They leaned against old wooden railing overlooking the bay. Sand scattered all over. Paint fading and chipping to reveal storm-beaten wood. It was a very clear sunny day, with chilly air and blustery wind. The sea breeze was so fresh and clean. The rumbling crashes of the white-capped waves in their view, dampening sand and washing up bundles of kelp ashore. Large rocks appearing and being swallowed with the rising and falling tides.

Taekwoon sipped his hot latte taking in the view. Breathing all of the fresh salty air. It was all so magnificent. He looked over at his hyung. Clutching his paper cup to keep his hands warm. Gazing out at the horizon. Watching him intently as he sipped his coffee. The way a small bead of the dark liquid would dribble down his chin, but quickly dab it with the end of his sweater sleeve. Taekwoon couldn't look away. Focused on every little expression, every nuance. He had been unusually silent. Maybe it was the scenery. What could he be thinking about? Anytime he smiled at his thoughts, the sunlight that lit up his brown eyes twinkled a bit more, crinkling the corners of his eyes. The same sunlight dancing on his skin. Illuminating a gorgeous shade of gold.

He looked... beautiful. Taekwoon's heart swelled. The fuzzy feeling of seeing him happy warming him up from the inside. In the blink of an eye, Hakyeon's smile began to disappear. Letting out a heavy sigh, Pursing his lips a little. Taekwoon's heart sank a little. He didn't miss any of it. Hakyeon's fingers tugged at his sleeve with one hand, digging into his palm and reddening the skin. The other, his nails scraping against the cardboard around the cup. There was no doubt Hakyeon was starting to see terrible things in his mind. Most likely shaming and in disgust of himself. His eyes began to well up and twitch as he let out a shaky breath. Sniffling to fight back the tears.

Taekwoon shifted his weight on his legs. The sound of his boots scuffing lightly against the sandy wood not fazing Hakyeon. He wrapped one arm around his waist, and held his arm in the other. Hakyeon turned to look at him. Eyes red from a few fallen tears that streamed down his cheeks. Taekwoon beamed at him. A way to reassure him. Hakyeon smiled back. Eyes turning into little crescents. He dabbed the tears from his face and leaned against Taekwoon's shoulder. Nuzzling into his warmth. He let out a content sigh. Looking back out at the big blue ocean.
