Final.

Promise

Seulgi couldn't help it. She tried not to bring it up, especially not with Soojung. But it still hurt her more than anything. It's been 7 years and she still hasn't debuted. She didn't even realize that it would take this long. Sometimes she doesn't even know if she's following the right path. She used to train with Soojung. They arrived in the company the same day. Later on they met Sulli. They were a trio. Inseperable. Everyone knew that three of them would debut together.

Later on the trio met Victoria and Amber and they were to debut in the same group together. Seulgi was excited of course. It's only been four years and she was going to debut. But the company decided to drop her from the group. They told her that she would debut on a later date. Seulgi didn't know what to feel, what to do or what to say. All her hardwork went to a waste. All she knew was that she hit rock-bottom.

"Seulgi-yah..." Krystal said with sadness in her tone

"I'm sorry. I know we talked about this before but it still hurts, you know?" Seulgi said staring at her fingers

"But I know this time you're going to debut. This time, it's for real!"

Seulgi couldn't help but tear up. She's been training so hard and so long. She thought about quitting, not just once but a couple of times. But once she quits all her hardwork will go to waste if she just stopped. She didnt train for 7 years for nothing.

"I feel like I'm stuck here. I feel like I'm never going to get my chance", Seulgi said, trying her best not to cry

"Remember what we talked about then?" Soojung said, putting a hand on the other girl's shoulder "we told each other that we're going to perform on the same stage together no matter what, right?"

Soojung knew how hard it was, not only for her friend but for her as well. When she heard that the company was planning to drop Seulgi from the group, she cried for weeks. She even told the company she wouldn't agree to debut if Seulgi wasn't going to debut with her. But Seulgi said that was a stupid idea and a very childish one too. Seulgi told her that she should just debut even if she wasn't there with her. Seulgi told her that she's going to be cheering on for Soojung and that she'll always be her number one supporter no matter what happens. She even said that just because they weren't going to debut together doesn't mean they'll stop being friends.

"I don't even know if this is the right path for me" Seulgi said biting her lip, she didn't want to cry, not in front of Soojung

"Of course it is! You're nice. You're good at singing, you have a very good voice. And you're really good at dancing too!" Soojung said trying to cheer her friend up, "Plus you're cute. You look like a teddy bear. And besides, I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you."

Seulgi couldn't help but smile a little. She knew that Soojung isn't the type to compliment other people but when she does, it was always genuine and sincere.  She knew that what Soojung just said came from the heart.

"Ah we should have brought coffee, it's really cold out here" Soojung said, taking a sip from her juice box.

"If I do debut this year, will you make a fansite for me?" Seulgi said, smiling at the blonde haired girl

"Heol. Are you crazy?" Soojung said smacking her friend's arm lightly

"Now that's the Soojung I came to know and love," Seulgi laughed, which made Soojung laugh as well. That's another thing that Soojung liked about Seulgi, her laugh was contagious. And no one else could make her laugh the way her friend does

"Seulgi, promise me one thing"

"Hm?"

"Promise me that you're not gonna give up. Not now. Not ever", Soojung said looking at her friend straight in the eye. Seulgi knew that this was serious. Soojung only does that when it comes to very important things.

"I don't-"

"Promise me. Promise me right now", Soojung said placing her pinky finger out

"Soojung, I-"

Before Seulgi could even finish her sentence, the blonde haired girl grabbed her hand and locked their pinkies together, "Please?"

Seulgi let out a sigh, she knew if she didn't say it, Soojung would just pester her about it for the rest of her life "....I promise."

"Say it like you mean it."

"I promise." Seulgi said with her eyes closed. Even though Soojung forced her, she meant it. She meant it with all her heart.

Soojung smiled, letting her friend's hand go. They continued to eat their unfinished sanwhiches. They made a promise then and they're making a promise now. She knew that their promises won't ever break.

"You think I can sue you for threatening me?" Seulgi said

"I didn't threaten you. You agreed willingly" the blonde haired girl said

"More like you forced me to "willingly" agree with you", Seulgi said, causing Soojung to laugh

Despite everything that has happened, Seulgi knew that this time she wouldn't give up. This time she's going to stay. She knew Soojug will be there constantly cheering her on. She won't let her friend down because Soojung never let her down. Throughout her years of training Seulgi knew one thing, friendship was a very powerful thing. And she knew that as long as she and Soojung were friends, everything will be just fine.

Chapter 2: Ah, after seven long years of training Seulgi's finally seen the light. I'm glad. Those interviews are really something.
But yeah! Soojung and Seulgi! I like seeing them interact in fic like these. Even though Seulgi was an SM trainee with so many others, I don't see fics about that time together. Thanks for sharing your writing.
