Description

Hayi was a typical girl except for her obsession with her mangas, fanfictions and singing. She would stay all day in her room doing those 3 things, no making new friends, nothing. She didn‘t care about anything else until she met an underground rapper boy who would put her world upside down.

Foreword

Another day with no concentration.

Hayi was getting quite stressed. It has been a few days since she stopped writing because she just didn’t have the inspiration.

She writes fanfictions and they all are the typical romantic story. Even though she was nothing like that, she was not the kind of girl that would appear in that typical shoujo manga, the ones that were all cute and perfect. Not at all. She loved to be encaged in her room all day.

She would just go to school, of course not because she wanted, it was an obligation, just who likes to go to school? No one. She would also go out just to buy new mangas, or search for them, just for that. She wasn’t the normal girl who would love to go to shopping or go out with friends. It‘s not that she didn’t have friends. Well, she wasn’t antisocial she just had her selective number of friends she could count on…that would be…yeah like just 1 friend.

Soohyun. Oh, and her cousin Bobby.

Bobby lives in Seoul and he is in the university, he also doesn’t like school but he is just there to get a degree and make her mother happy, but his dream is to become a rapper.

Hayi lives with her cousin, just the both of them, she moved to Seoul because she wanted to find merchandise like manga, and she just loved to live in a big city, his cousin didn’t have any problem with her living with him since they were like brother and sister so he agreed, also because he likes to make songs and Hayi has a great voice so he loves to make her feature in his songs, which she didn’t had any problem with that, it was like repaying the favor for letting her stay.

Anyway putting that aside. If she could, she would stay all day in her room, watching dramas, or reading manga or singing.

Soohyun was her friend. They had the same taste, they both love manga, and dramas, but different from Hayi, Soohyun was a social girl, she would have friends here and there, she was gentle and kind, that’s why everyone liked her, she was popular with boys, she was girly and lovely, and has very good grades. The perfect girl.

Hayi really liked soohyun too, even though they were different, they both get along really well and understand each other. She met her in middle school and since then, they have been best friends. She was happy to have her as her friend even though she didn’t have friends she was glad that Soohyun was her one and only friend, she thought she didn’t need anything more than her friend and her cousin.

But Bobby and Soohyun didn’t think the same as her, they wanted her to go out and hang out with friends, meet new people, live a normal teenage life, they worried for her a lot. So they would always invited her to party‘s so she could go out, and have fun but she would always reject the invitation making her friend and cousin give up on her. But that’s how lee hayi likes to live her life, always there in her own world, at least that’s what she thought it was life for now.

Hayi was still struggling in what to write for her fanfiction, the ideas were fading away and she was feeling desperate,  but just when ideas were about to come out, Bobby enters the room all excited and screaming making Hayi to forget what she was about write.

“Hayi-ah, its awesome news! Remember the friend i have talked to you about?, well he is a good friend of mine, and there is going to be an underground rap battle, its one of the best and he got me a chance on stage and I told him that I had a cousin who sang very well, so i was thinking that maybe you could come, his name is---“ Hayi interrupted him while she was standing up from her desktop and getting a coffe.

“Oppa I’ve told you I don’t like that stuff, and I was just about to come up with a good story, but you came and interrupted me so i lost my inspiration, you know how i am with those things, I have to be in full concentration“ she said as she came back to her favorite spot in front of her laptop, quite annoyed you could say.

“I know Hayi“ bobby said, sighing and already giving up. He didn‘t even bothered to convice her anymore it was always the same story anyway.

In fact she didn’t really care about anything but her friend, and her mangas and dramas.

Hayi was annoyed, she was feeling a little bad for turning down her cousin good intentions for her to have a good time, she was aware of that, she would feel sorry for not being normal, is just that she was so scared…

Scared of going out and meet new people and have fun, she was so used to be encaged to everything and everyone that she was scared to even try.

His cousin wanted her to stand up in a stage and sing in front of thousand of people; of course she couldn‘t do that is not that she hates to sing… at some point she started to love it, but she couldn‘t say that to her cousin. That would mean he just wouldn‘t leave her alone, and as much as she loves singing, she also loves her mangas a lot and since that’s what she‘s been used to; she preferred to stay like that.

Life was easier that way and for her it was more enjoyable. At least that‘s what she thought…
