A talent agent for a music company gets threatened that if she can’t find a new trainee for a debuting group, then she loses her job. After scouring through dozens of high school talent shows, street performances, and tons of audition videos, Lee Sunyoung can't seem to find her perfect recruit. Finally, through desperate measures, she blindly enters the underground rap world, filled with many talented options, however they each share something in common. Everyone despises the dominating capital music industry. When she lays eyes on Woo Jiho, his voice and talent captivate her, making him the perfect trainee to save her career. Will he willingly cooperate with the ever changing demands of the modern music industry? 

 

 

 

Lee Sunyoung

a stubborn and determined talent agent from a popular music company. Engaged to Kim Jihoon (played by Rain), her haste engagement is suddenly set on hold as she struggles to save her career. When the main rapper of a debuting boy group bails at the last second, she is named responsible for the “mismanagement” of her client. She is given one last chance to fix her mistake or be forced to pack up her office for good. Now she faces the desperate need to find a well- trained rapper who can replace him in the seven member group, her career resting on a fine line. After desperately searching for “the one”, she finds herself in the underground rapping world, where her presence alone is hated. There she meets Woo Jiho, the perfect well trained rapper who has already established himself with the music world before, in a way he keeps secret. With her fiancé giving her minor support, she takes on one of the greatest challenges she has ever faced. Convincing Jiho to enter back into a world he was raised to despise. 

 

 

 

 

Woo Jiho (Zico)

a Seoul raised underground rapper with a soft heart and a powerful voice. A quiet and ordinary student by day, a famous underground rapper at night. Traveling around the underground rapping scene, Jiho hides his alternate identity from his overly strict parents who want nothing more than to see Jiho become a successful lawyer and sucessor to his prosperous older brother. Jiho has grown up hating the modern, capitalistic music scene and wants nothing to do with it. With contracts signing an eternal bond to the overpowering companies who try to abuse idols talents to satisfy their greed. When he is approached by a talent agent who desperately wants to hire him, he is caught in an internal conflict within himself and his beliefs, especially when he develops feelings for her.

 

 

 

Kim Jihoon ( Jung Jihoon- Rain)

son of a wealthy CEO of a major software company and heir to his father’s wealth, Jihoon has lived his life lavishly and to the fullest because everything he ever wanted was handed to him. When he falls for his father’s assistant at the time, Lee Sunyoung, they get engaged after a mere eight months of dating. Their relationship, however, feels almost fake in Sunyoung’s eyes. Jihoon has never shared true compassion nor received it from his overworking parents and can’t seem to grasp how to truly love someone. Unknowingly, Jihoon needs Sunyoung, his only contact with what it’s like living a normal life. When their engagement is suddenly put on hold, he doesn’t know how to respond to having something he thought he wanted not immediately given to him.
