PROLOGUE

10 February 2004.

"We will be friends forever, right?" I heard she asked me once again. And still, I do not move. I neither nod nor shake my head. I closed my eyes, feel wind slaps my face. She is still there, knee and hold my hand tight. This warm hand, how could I forget her?

"I have to go, Jung Rintae. Don't knee for me. You know I have to go," I know my voice was shivered.

"B-"

"Don't call me anymore. I really have to go, I could not waste my time for you, Rintae-ssi," I closed my eyes again, knowing my words are sharper than a knife.

"Can't you stay? You are my only friend, oppa. I don't want another. I only want you and I only need you," she murmured. I know she is crying, but I couldn't be here for her.

"Your parents will-"

"I don't care. Even if my parents will kill me for you, I don't care." I know she is so stubborn.

"It's for your own good. Be healthy for me, Rintae. We'll find each other one day, if we are a soulmate. And sorry, forget my previous promises, because I actually promise nothing."

And I left her alone with her tears.
