"Do you believe in destiny?" she asked the boy, who had fiercely peaked her interest. She peered through the darkness to find his intense orbs, illuminated by the full moon up above. "Like," she continued, "have you ever thought that maybe everything happens for a reason, and nothing is really by chance?" Admiring the the way the moonlight accentuated the soft curves of her face, he looked thoughtfully ahead of himself, staring at nothing in particular. Pondering the curious girl's question, he took a few extra moments of silence and allowed himself to get lost in thought, as he often did. She granted him his time of consideration, understanding completely his constant need for absolute contemplation. 

     "I...I'm not really sure what I believe." he finally answered as honestly as possible. Keeping his eyes focused on the blades of grass below him, he dared not look the girl in her face as he spoke his next words. "I've never been very sure of what I believe in, but I think that maybe you'll be the person to help me find out."
