home is where your heart is.

background- » Sangil was born into a very poor family. His parents, - both pure blood March Hares - were so in debt that they had to take up jobs serving a White Rabbit. The reason for their financial difficulties was that they were pacifists. This meant that they did not believe in taking up arms against any living creature, and also that they did not have a proper place in any of the four sanctions. So their child was born into a life of poverty. He knew nothing more than that of being a servant and serving those which he was supposed to hate.

Sangil would have been completely content with this life, except for one small problem; he was brilliant. No. Not just "brilliant", an absolute genius. As early as the young age of three, Sangil had learned to read. He would often sneak away to his Master's library, snatch a few books for his nights reading and return them in the morning before anyone knew they were amiss. The books that most interested Sangil were those of manner and educate. It started as fictional stories, the lavish lifestyles of fictional characters which he felt so extravagant compared to his own. Sangil slowly began to realize that, although he was surrounded by the same environment as the characters he so adored, he did not belong in their world - or in this one - as anything more than a servant. And so, Sangil began to study. Posture, table manners, chivalry, the works, in order to become the man he so aspired to be.

It wasn't until Sangil's seventh year that the White Rabbit household threw them out on the street.
" You're living costs have been outweighing your service for long enough. ", they had stated, making special note of his parents old age.

A lifetime of grunt work had not tendered kindly to their aging bodies. And so they were cast upon the streets, as one might do to an old dog that can no longer fetch it's stick.

Despite what seemed to be dire circumstances, Sangil did not lose hope. He used his ability to control animals to gather food for his family and kept them from starving in the ruthless forests of Wonderland. He would send a bird to bring back berries or a wolf to hunt down some meat. In addition to gathering food, the animals also helped Sangil train. The creatures which had once been housed as pets or lived off of the land of his former employers were now his teachers.
" Keep your back straight!" He would hear them chirp and croak.
"And don't forget to be polite." This in the form of a hiss or growl.

As Sangil began to become more if a gentleman, he also began to push his parents away, feeling he was no longer their son. He simply did not understand how anyone could give up a life of luxury simply because they believed in an impossible cause such as "peace". 'I'm not like them.' Sangil would reason to himself when he felt guilty. It was true enough. Sangil was prim, proper and a gentlemen, while his parents were nothing more than peace worshiping bums. For Sangil, the way be acted, he way he carried himself - how he smiled, ate his meals and never once forgot a " Thank you" - had simply become him. It was no longer practice, but simply who he was. And it separated him from his family, no matter how much he wished to believe otherwise.

It was Sangil's gentlemanly air that finally got him out of the hole that was his life. As he did on many days when there was nothing to be done, the boy was trying on elegant clothing at one of the shops in town. He never bought it, of course, but simply marveled at the look of himself in the mirror. At how right it looked to him. That day, Sangil was trying on one of the newer suits in the store, (Luckily the sales attendant was new, and thus not aware of his charade) it was a cream coloured suit, exquisitely tailored with a teal tie that perfectly set off his eyes.
"Nice looking suit you have there." A man said from behind. Sangil had been quite busy checking himself out and had not noticed the man approach.
"Oh. Thank you very much." He had replied, flashing his most charming smile.
"You should get it. Looks great on you." The man answered. Sangil could tell he was rather well off from the cut of his jacket and the way he carried himself. Sangil wished he could take his advice. "You're very kind. I would like too, although it's not really in my price range today." The man gave him a quizzical look and just like that sparked the conversion that would change Sangil's life.

It turned out that the stranger was a "businessman" of sorts. He worked in the bootlegging department and was looking for a new partner. He instantly took a shine to Sangil, Sangilsing his proper attitude as well as his genius. They soon went into business together. Sangil made a fortune in bootlegging by convincing many of his animal friends to smuggle small quantities of alcohol to all of the sanctions. Before he knew it, Sangil was one of the richest men in Wonderland.

Sangil has since taken up residency as a knight of the Mad Hatter, although his circumstances are much different than his brothers-in-arms. Sangil owns a mansion on the Hatter's land, almost as large as the Hatter's own. He fills his mansion with things that he loves; books, animals, antiques and even people. Sangil often holds parties of his own. He still works in the bootlegging business but does not let it taint his personality. Sangil has a few close friends and many animals, which he uses for his business. Due to his embarrassing past, Sangil is reluctant to tell anyone about it and often lies. He has made a pleasant home for himself and is mostly neutral. That is, of course, except for his hated towards the White Rabbits who he feels are reasonable for his torturous childhood.
