It started when Luhan, a current member of the ‘Happiness Club’ – believe it or not, it exists, and Luhan being a happy guy by nature joined – was on his mission to fulfill his duty as a member, and that was to simply spread happiness to every people you come across. It could be done by simply making faces, cracking jokes, take pictures, give them cookies, and a lot more as long as you are able to earn a smile from them. It was easy, it always was, until he came across him. The guy who’s ‘expressionless’.

That day, he decided on blowing bubbles around his potential targets and it just so happened that a tall, unfamiliar student caught his eye. He swiftly slid beside the boy and started to blow numerous bubbles around them and giggled as he skipped in front of his target. Normally, a person would return his smile and laugh along. But this person was different among the rest.

He raised his head for eye contact with the stranger, a handsome one he realizes, and waited for a laugh, or simply a tug of his lips upwards. But none of it came. His target’s eyes looked the least bit amused, if anything, he looked bored. The stranger was tall, tall enough that he had to tilt his head upwards and for the stranger to look down on him. His own smile started fade as the handsome stranger continues to stare him down.

Luhan realizes how weird they must have looked: two boys staring at each other with bubbles floating around them. It would have been a romantic sight, yes, but with the current situation, it was downright awkward. They both stood in silence and the most movement that the stranger had done was raise a hand as he let a bubble pop in his palm.

Wanting to get rid of the awkward atmosphere and fulfill his duty as a Happiness Club member, he decided to try a cheesy pick-up line, after all, the cheesiest ones always brings out the widest smiles, “You know, you seem kinda familiar…do we have classes together?” Luhan waited for a sign of recognition but after he realized that the silence stretched longer than the normal time given to someone to respond, he decided to drop the bomb, “’cause I could’ve sworn we had chemistry haha…ha…”

To his utter embarrassment, the stranger didn’t even seem to find his joke worthy of a laugh or even a simple smile which made his face flush red to the tips of his ears. The student’s face remained stoic and not once had he ever felt as embarrassed and disappointed in himself as he felt right now. He was a failure. He failed a simple task of making someone smile and that alone was enough to have his eyes prick with unshed tears of embarrassment. Not once had he failed before and the guy continued to stare at him with bored eyes, he felt so embarrassed and ashamed that he ran away from the stranger without looking back.

This, my dears, is my failed attempt at romcom-ish and fluffy-ish fic...
since my previous fics were all ty/pwp, I wanted to take a shot with this kind of genre...so yeah, forgive me if you all find this cliche-ish...
