You decided to take your time and skip the first class.

You calmly get up from bed and walk to the bathroom to do your business. Afterwards, you wore your new school uniform and walked downstairs.

"Look who finally awoke from hibernation" your mother teased. 

"I only had two hours of sleep last night," you defended.

"You should have slept earlier. You knew you had school today," she scolded.

"Yeah I know, but I couldn't fall asleep," you replied and sat down in front of the dining table. That was partially a lie. You were up all night in a skype call with your friends, but it was true that you couldn't  fall sleep until 4. 

"Alright, I'll let you off this time since it's your first day going to a new school, but don't let this become a habit," she warned light-heartedly and handed you a plate of freshly made blueberry pancakes.

"I won't," you promised and accepted the plate. You quickly ate and placed the plate in the sink. "Bye mom, see you after school." You hugged your mother.

"Bye you, have fun at school. Make some friends while your there!" she encouraged and lightly patted your .

"Mooom," you groaned and released the hug, "I'm not a kid anymore. Stop touching my ."

Your mother laughed. "Okay, okay, hurry up now or you'll be late for your second class."

You nodded and rushed outside, swung your leg over your bike, and rode to school.
