This short story was an assignment of mine in English. We were learning about symbolism and I think it was also when we were talking about coming-of-age themes. So that's mainly what this story was built upon.

I changed the names from what I originally had, but I didn't change the bird's name. I used to be very into Japanese names, and I'm pretty sure "Koe" means something significant (to the story), but right now I don't remember what x( Sorry if anyone was curious about it.

I suppose the theme(s) is/are pretty self-explanatory, but if after reading it you still don't understand, feel free to leave me a message or wall post (preferably not in the comments please: don't want a bunch of "I dont get it..."s there lol x]). I'll be happy to explain... just as soon as I figure it out properly for myself haha xD It really has been a while guys!
