Phew, I can't believe I'm uploading this. It was actually part of my year 12 Extension 2 English major work and means a hell of a lot to me. Originally penned as an appropriation of The Little Mermaid, inspired by the fact that Hans Christian Anderson wrote it for a man he loved. This was my first attempt at writing ecotopian fiction (I've become somewhat of an expert since then :P), and is pretty much my child.

If you're thinking that it reminds you of a couple of other things I've written, that's because I drew from them to make this for the sake of creating the best work possibe (because marks). And if there are any neurotic programmers out there, I've used perl poetry in this story. It's POETRY, not actual executable code, although I did try to make it as code-y as possible.
