[FLASHBACK]

“SungJi, I need to talk to you.” Junsu knocked.

SungJi opened up the door and invited his brother inside. “Yes hyung?”

“Have you eaten?” Junsu asked caringly.

SungJi smiled at his brother as his eyes twinkled “Yes, I made myself RaMyeon. Don’t worry hyung, I’m old enough to take care of myself.”

“Err… good..” Junsu faked his smile, not that unique one he has.

“Hyung, you didn’t just come in here to ask me this right?” SungJi inquired. He knew something was up with his step-brother but he didn’t know what.

“How’s studies?” Junsu asked again.

“Hyung… get to the point.”

“I need your help.”

SungJi nearly fell off his chair when he heard his brother asking for his assistance. His brother always had better results and was a better student. He only thought of asking his brother for help but not the other way round.

“Hyung?”

Junsu leaned in to his brother lowering his voice so it was almost inaudible.

“I know you’re interested in psychology and you’ve been preparing yourself for university. You should know about hypnotizing right?” SungJi blinked in confusion, what was his step brother planning?

“Huh?”

“Just tell me SungJi, do you know anything about hypnotizing?!” Junsu gripped on SungJi’s arms hurting the younger whose tears started to gather in the frames.

“Yes… but…hyung, what are you planning?”

Junsu released his grasp, after taking a deep breath, he sat down on SungJi’s bed “Appa died leaving a lot of depts and Umma is working too much she’s getting thinner by the day. I mean you only became part of the family less than two years ago.” Junsu buried his face in his palms.

“I know this is a tough time, but you have to concentrate on you studies. You promised Umma! Working in the lab is already enough. Really.” SungJi comforted.

“It’s not fair for both of you. Please SungJi, you have to help me.” Junsu pleaded. “I only need you to use hypnotizing and help me create a second me, another personality.”

“What for?!”

“The only businesses that can mast fast and legal money is by working as a host.”

“WHAT?!”

“Appa had always told me I resemble my Mother. While I was in high school, a few seniors did try to attack me… but luckily I got out of it but after that I was afraid of people and I became very unsociable.” Junsu paused for a bit as he played with his fingers.

“But if I want to work as a host, I need to be outgoing and at least good looking. And if it acquires me to have with my clients, I will. But I don’t want to remember it. Put a seal in my mind, or anything. However, with my personality right now, I can’t even get this job.”

“THEN DON’T! I didn’t learn hypnotizing to help you do this kind of things! Selling off your body! Are you crazy?!” SungJi was furious, he didn’t want his brother to do this. Even if they were only brothers through their parent’s marriage, they still treated each other with respect and loved each other like true blood bond brothers.

“SungJi, I need to help Umma out. Working in the lab isn’t earning much and besides, the only free time I have is at night after my classes. I don’t want either you or Umma to suffer. ”

“NO!” SungJi stood up pushing his brother onto the bed harshly.

Junsu sat up slowly reaching on to SungJi’s wrist “Do it for your Umma. Do it for me. Please SungJi… I beg you.”

Junsu suddenly kneeled down taking his step brother off guard. “Hyung!”

“SungJi PLEASE.”

“Hyung I….”

“If you treat me like a brother, then do it!”

“FINE!” SungJi panted, slumping himself on his chair trying to find his calmness again.

“Thank you…”

“Hyung… just promise me you won’t get hurt and you will protect yourself alright?”

Junsu smiled as he hugged his brother tightly, squeezing the little one with his might “Alright.”

Finally the puzzle pieces found each other again.

“So… You hypnotized Junsu-sshi using only reference books and your knowledge from documentaries and changed him into another person?”

“Yes.”

“He will automatically turn into another person by listening to a certain word I say. Only my voice could trigger it.” SungJi explained.

Shin asked as he scribbled notes. “Then how does he return to his own self?”

“When he wakes up from his sleep.”

The detective’s eyes went to the owner of the voice. Yoochun.

“Mr. Park?”

“That’s why he doesn’t spend the nights with clients and goes home immediately after business. And it explains why he doesn’t remember me when he woke up the other day. ”

“No wonder...” Yunho tapped his chin lightly, agreeing, as the puzzles were put together, fitting each other perfectly.

“Right. The first time I used ‘Wake up Xiah-sshi’ to trigger ‘Xiah’ in him and he started working late nights. I asked him if he had with his clients the next morning, but he said he didn’t remember and the looks in his eyes convinced me that he was telling the truth…” SungJi broke down in tears with his hands trembling.

He wanted to kill himself badly when he remembered the second time he helped his brother. “A month ago he came to me, saying that there were a few problems and needed me to hypnotize him again, creating another personality.”

“Does hypnotizing do all this? Like inserting a new life into him?”

“No. Hypnotizing isn’t magic. Hyung could only become ‘Xiah’ and recently ‘Jun-chan’ because he WANTED to. Hypnosis only helps him to become that someone. Like how a psychologist uses hypnosis to help a person who wants to lose weight.”

“So if you do not mention the word, your brother does not become those two people at night? And when he wakes up he completely loses his memory about being his other self?” The detective reconfirmed.

“Yes.”

“Well that’s a pity.” Yoochun shrugged at the thought of the seductive Junsu.

Yunho elbowed him returning his concentration to the case.

“Okay, so does that mean he could not remember who him?” Annie asked nervously.

SungJi gulped before breaking the bad news, “As Jun-chan, maybe, but as Junsu…Unfortunately… no.”

“Is there any way to revive his memory during that time SungJi?” Yoochun wondered.

“I’m not a professional. I… tried to hypnotize him out of it but… like I said, if the person doesn’t want to do something, it won’t work.”

“So even if you trigger ‘Jun-chan’ again, he won’t appear if ‘Junsu’ doesn’t want to?” Yunho queried, and SungJi sadly replied with a nod.

“Ahem.” Shin was obviously irritated by his question being asked one by one by the others rather than himself.

“It’s okay if he doesn’t remember. The hospital did give us a blood sample that was under Junsu’s nails. Hopefully we could get whoever did this to him. Annie yang, I would need you to give me the contact number and pictures of the person who took him out.”

“I wish I could help but… he only comes by when he wants to. I could give you a description though, and here’s the check he gave me, is it of any help?” she wondered worriedly. At least the guilt would be lessened a bit…maybe.

“Yes it would be. I’ll keep in touch.”

“Detective Shin, find whoever did this. Please.” Yoochun pleaded.

A confident smile was plastered across his face, giving Yoochun his words.
