A Leader's Burden

Description

A leader must never fall. That is what Seungyoon keeps on telling himself. He has to be in best condition, for the sake of the whole group. No matter what. He listens to everyone, but rarely talks for himself. When this maknae leader carries too much upon himself, to the point of breaking, each member begins to realise one thing - they have long forgotten that Kang Seungyoon is still the other maknae of the group; a young boy who is too mature for his own good.

Sore throat. Fever. Chills. Nausea. Body aches. Weakness. Headaches. All these symptoms scream one word: SICK. Severely sick, to be precise.

However, Seungyoon keeps his condition a secret. Just so as not to mess up WINNER's schedule. Just so that he would not be a burden to the members.

Why?

Because he loves the members. Because he is a listener, not a speaker. Because he is the leader of WINNER.

 

Hey guys, this is my first time writing a fanfic so please forgive my poor writing skills >.<

Well, to me, leaders are always the strong figure who lead the team to success. But leaders are humans too. I was curious as to what would happen if the leader relies to much on himself and falls down hard.

The reason why I thought of writing Seungyoon was simply because I have seen him performing while sick for quite a few times already. Everytime he performs ad libs during the high note in Empty? Yeah I reckon he was sick too. So yup. 

Don't hate me for torturing Seungyoon *flees* All the symptoms are real and indicate a tonsilitis infection!

Chapter 9: I'm glad I read this story. It contained the pains and the joy of being a leader and of having a team. Yes, being a leader is such a tough job, all of them want to stay strong for the team, to the point of over-exerting themselves, but as you depicted in this story, the other members are always there to share the burden. I can never imagine what these group idols are going through, but being together almost all the time creates a really precious bond that common people will never understand. I'm happy I got to read a story of the harshness of being a leader but also they can count on their members, which are more closer than a family.
