The betrothal gift.

Description

It was hoped that with Yu-jing’s marriage to the youngest son of China’s largest business conglomerate, strained business relations would be pacified and the Chairman’s decision to terminate the contract would be revoked. If they became in-laws, it wouldn’t be an issue anymore. Everything would go back to normal. He knew that Yu-jing and Young Master Kris were not in love with the other. He also knew Young Master Kris had a lover on the outside.

His poor daughter, Yu-jing.

He had cried for days and nights until his eyes were red and raw, and no tears could be shed, but he could not bring himself to stop the marriage. If he did, the contract would be inevitably terminated and he would be left with nothing. All the blood, sweat and tears he had lost to adversities and to failures would have been for nothing.

Father is sorry, Yu-jing. Father will repay you. Whether that be in my next life, or in hell.

Foreword

Title: The betrothal gift.

A/N: I’ve decided to write this down as a story because I keep thinking about it too much. Fingers crossed you guys like it. Hopefully, my Chinese is still passable because I’ll be throwing some Chinese in for kicks. Or not.
