the only reason why you waited twenty years was because he had disappeared for twenty years. (my friend thought that she had stayed away from him because she was stubborn) It took him twenty years to finally get rid of the pain and build up enough courage to face you again. And its not like he was just sitting around doing nothing, he had left the country to get away. He only had so much money when he got there and had to get a job and a place to live. He knew that he wanted to go back but he didn't know how you felt even though the other bts members would give him monthly and sometimes weekly updates on how you were doing. He wanted to believe what you cared but it was hard since all he had even gotten from you was hate. But its all okay now cuz he still luvs you and you luv him now and your both happy.
