Loving Your Enemy

Description

“I loved her simply because I found her irresistible. Once for all; I knew to my sorrow, often and often, if not always, that I loved her against reason, against promise, against peace, against hope, against, happiness, against all discouragement that could be. Once for all; I loved her more none the less because I knew it, and it had no more influence in restraining me than if I had devoutly believed her to be human perfection.”- Pip, Great Expectations

Foreword

Humans.

We are intellectual beings made by the Creator empowered by will. We have conscience. We have emotions, we have feelings that could make or break us, even impede our judgments and decisions. We feel love and empathy that could melt us. And there is hatred and anger, the heavy feeling in our hearts that could bring us to our sorrow, to war, nothing but destruction. But we are logical beings, even considered the highest form of animal. And we walk on Earth, and we live day by day to survive. No, we don't exactly. It is the other way around; we survive to live and to continue existing. And for that reason we fight those who try to take away our humanity.

We fight to survive.

We fight to live.

And we will fight against them.

“Tell me exactly, what is it to be Human? Tell me please, if love and only love can make me closer to being one.”

“You are not capable of love.”
