Chapter 41
The Exiled Ice Princess
“Hi Miss Jung. You’re a bit late.” Mr. Kim, the CEO, greeted me with
a grim face as I positioned myself in my designated chair on the
conference room. I can sense his strong dislike towards me.
Oh well, the feeling is mutual. And so I glared at him, successfully
shutting him up.
“Ehrm...erm. Let us start the meeting now, shall we?” He announced
to every nicely suited ladies and gentlemen whom stood up to greet
me as I stepped inside the room earlier. Shareholders and higher
ranked personnels, I believe were gathered in front of us.
All of them nodded in return then took their respective seats.
“Okay since I bought and now have the biggest shares in this
company, I presume that all of you are ranked lower than me, right?”
I stated bluntly first with all the composure and professionalism that
I could muster. Everyone nodded except my, or should I say
everyone’s, biggest antagonist of all time.
“Is there a problem with that Mr. Kim?” I muttered, loud enough
for everyone to hear. “Well technically, you are right, Miss Jung.
However, I am still currently entitled as the CEO of this
entertainment company.” He stated matter-of-factly.
“The decision-making will still be approved by me.” He continued
with the same level of enthusiasm back when he greeted me.
I smirked at his egotistic proclamation.
“You know that I could just fire you, right?” I firmly stated,
although my bored face is now overpowering my alert and
active features. He looked at me in disbelief, oh wait..
Everyone looked at me in disbelief.
Hahaha their faces were epic! I’m the princess, no one
should get in my way.
“Yes, but we had a deal. I followed everything that you’ve
requested and made sure that your ex-members will have a bright
future. You should do your part too.” He hissed under his breath,
while leaning closer to me. He wanted to make sure that no one
could hear his downfall. I could only scoff at his petty action.
“That’s why if you don’t shut the hell up, who knows what
could happen.” I hissed back at him. Returning my gaze to
everyone, my smile was then automatically molded,
reassuring everyone that everything is fine.
“So I think everyone’s on the same boat now, right?
Shall we start?” As I saw everyone nod, including him,
I took the liberty to continue my self.
“This meeting was called up because I wanted to talk to
all of you with regards to matters surrounding the remaining
girls’ generation members. First of, when will their contracts
expire here?” My eyes roamed to everyone in the room.
“I think only a year is left Miss Jung.” Mr. Lee answered
when everyone’s eyes darted on him.
“Okay perfect. That’s just about right.” I exclaimed which
made everyone’s eyes dart back to me.
“What are you talking about Miss Jung?” Mr. Jang asked
out of curiosity. They were probably thinking why I’m happy
that the members only have a year left to enjoy. I brushed
his inquiry aside, I have major points to elaborate still.
“The members will still have their schedules packed, as
planned by Mr. Kim here, either as a group or as an individual.”
I looked at him, assuring the deal, then continued,
“And it will run up until their contracts expire.” I stopped
momentarily as I saw them discuss something among
themselves, then continued my self as they started to
nod their heads in unison.
“And as for Mr. Kim here, he will still remain in his position
as being the CEO of this company...” I saw him in my
peripherals wickedly grin beside me. And since I also
am a person who strongly dislike him, I wanted to cut
his happiness short too. “..for a year.” I concluded and
enjoyed myself as his grin faded to form a tight lip
expression. His expression became grim.
Everyone also gasped in shock at my announcement.
Oh I’m surely enjoying myself right now.
“What do you mean Miss Jung?” Mrs. Ho asked.
“That’s a good question Mrs. Ho. Uhm... As what I
have said, Mr. Kim will still be the appointed CEO
of this company up until the contracts of girls’ generation
expire. His position will automatically be revoked as the
members will become the new owner of this company
by that time.” I stated confidently.
“So you are saying that you’ll be appointing the eight girls
as the CEO of this company by the time their contracts
as an entertainer expire?” Mrs. Ho clarified.
“Yes. Correct. Well, basically they would run this company a year later.”
“But would they want this? I mean how sure are you that they’ll
want to run this company?” Mr. Nam inquired. Well, he has a point.
“Good question. Well, there are eight of them. I’m sure that out of
all the eight, one of them is interested in this business, given their
current professions right now. Sunny could accept the position right
away. Her knees and ankles are giving her problems as of the
moment, if I heard correctly, and she can’t be able to perform on
stage any longer. Her health is at stake, so why should she not
accept the position right? And besides, she has Lee Sooman’s blood.
She could run this business pretty well.” I’m sure that I was able to
convince them with my proposition given the way they nod their heads.
“I’m still giving them the position, it’s up to them if they want it or not.
They could sign another contract, retire for good, or run this company.
It’s up to them, really. They’ve had enough of this controlling and stifling
business, anyway. It wouldn’t be a loss if all of them decided to finally
live a normal life.” Everyone, not sure about the bitter Mr. Kim, agreed
with my thoughts. And since I’m a pretty busy person today, with meetings
still on my schedule, I decided to finally wrap this meeting up.
“And lastly, before I forgot, no one is given the liberty to reveal these
plans to the said members. Not until their contract’s expiration date.
Oh well, that’s all I wanted to say to all of you. Violent reactions?”
I roamed everyone’s features, and stopped at Mr. Kim as I asked
the last words. Everyone shook their heads, including Mr. Kim.
Hahaha I’m such a winner.
“So all of us are on the same boat right? Okay everyone, meeting
adjourned. Good job to all of you.” I ended the meeting with a
compliment. As the ladies and gentlemen started to stand up to
exit the room, I leaned forward to the still slouched and gloomy
Mr. Kim and whispered,
“I’ve held my end of the bargain.
You have one year to run this company. And till then, enjoy!”
I then started to walk, with all the confidence filling and radiating in
me, towards the glass door. I stopped my strides for a second,
as a smile curved my lips, when I heard my enemy’s loud sigh
of resignation finally floated with the tensed air around the room.
