Winter Solstice

Description

Winter solstice  or Yule is an astronomical phenomenon which marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Winter solstice occurs for the Northern Hemisphere in December and for the Southern Hemisphere in June.

More evident from high latitudes, a hemisphere's winter solstice occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year, when the sun's daily maximum elevation in the sky is the lowest. The winter solstice itself lasts only a moment in time, so other terms are used for the day on which it occurs, such as "midwinter", or the "shortest day".

Worldwide, interpretation of the event has varied from culture to culture, but many cultures have held a recognition of rebirth, involving holidays, festivals, gatherings, rituals or other celebrations around that time.

"Are you the Christmas' Spirit?"

"Yes"

"Really?"

"No,I'm just a random guy with white hair trying to imitate Jack Frost that likes to talk to random people during Winter Solstice,of course I'm the Christmas Spirit you dimwit"

"..."

"So why did you summoned me?"

"..."

"You OK? Are you going to tell me why I'm here or not?"

"...I don't know..."

"...great"

Foreword

So this is just a little oneshot to celebrate the Winter Solstice or The Christmas' Spirit's Day,in my country we celebrate it by writing letter adressing the Christmas Spirit and asking her for love and protection for our loved ones, along with our wishes and disires for next year, and at the end of the night(midnight) we burn the letter and clean the house in order to recieve the Spirit with happiness and positive energy.

I hope my explanation made sense...

anyways,Happy Winter Solstice!

Love,Zaf.
