Everyone has sorrows they need to drown.

Some drown them in tears, some in alcohol, some in , some in a combination of the three or even another way more.

In SM Entertainment, there’s a room hidden in one of the uppermost floors of the building, away from the nosy and prying eyes of the office staff, fans and the media. It’s a dimly lit bar with dark furniture, jazz music and an extensively stocked alcohol cabinets that many clubs all over Seoul would be jealous of. In this room is where sorrows are dealt with by those who come and sit next to their chosen poison for the night.

It’s already a little past midnight, Shim Changmin notes, and still the nearly secret hideout houses an interesting mix of people. He’s there for three reasons. First, he needs a drink. Second, he wants to keep a watchful eye on Jung Yunho. The older man is seated right next to him in their booth in the corner of the room; his posture unstable and screams I’m drunk and I’m about to fall asleep in every way. It’s been a while since his hyung drank like this. Yet another failed would be-reunion with Kim Jaejoong, Kim Junsu, and Park Yoochun is to blame. Yunho’s forgiven them a long time ago and though he does he best to carry a twosome DBSK, Changmin knows he still misses what was.

Changmin is secretly happy that the would-be reunion failed. He’s just not ready.

The third reason he has for being there is, well, he’s a natural observer.

He’s know many of labelmates nearly all his life and, while they make kick his once they find out about this, he’s always interested about what goes on in their lives, even if he always never lets it show. Drama and conflict intrigue him, not to the point of initiating them, but enough to want to stick around and see what happens.

The first one he notices once he’s assured that Yunho has fallen asleep in drunken bliss is Choi Siwon. Not one you’d expect to be here.

Siwon occupies a table for two with a glass of scotch right before him. Yet, the scotch is untouched. He’s seating there and all Changmin can come up with to describe him is exhausted.
