Scene: Jiyong’s House

10 in the morning

Jiyong woke up rubbing his puffy eyes, making him look tired and ill not his usual handsome look.. He looked through the window when the sun light hits his eyes knowing he woke up really late today, he stood up and pulled down the blind of the window to cover the light entering his room... somehow he didn’t felt good waking up this morning still alive, he went to his bathroom just inside the room.. He washed his face and grabs a dry towel as he went outside his room seeing the housemaid coming his way.

Housemaid: “Good Morning Jiyong-shi” she bowed to him “just want to let you know that your parents just arrived this morning, your mom is at the kitchen having her meal” she waits for his reply but to her surprised Jiyong just gestured her to move and passed by her as he went downstairs “Aigoo.. What happened to the happiest man?” she murmured to herself

Jiyong went to the kitchen seeing his mother enjoying her light meal, he fix his hair knowing how he awful he looks, he was about to turn his back when he heard his mother called

Mrs. Kwon: “Jiyong-ah” she smiled as she stood from her seat “come, join me.. Your Appa was sleeping since he didn’t have enough sleep at the plane” she explained talking to his back

Jiyong turned to face his mother trying to cover his puffy eyes “Good morning Umma, how was it?” he walks through the fridge and opened it pretending to find something to eat, truth is; he was just cooling his face inside.. “it went good, the new branch was successful, you know your Appa.. he’s a perfectionist just like my boy” she finish her tomato sandwich looking at her son weird moves.

Jiyong grab a jar of kimchi and put it on the table having a taste of it “chincha? That’s good news” he tried to act calm and control his cracking voice, still not recovered of what really happened between Dara and him.. his mother went closer and lean on his face noticing the haggard son “omo!” she spoke with a loud voice “what happened to your eyes, you look so ill” checking his temperature, Jiyong moves his face away “I’m fine!” his mother covered in shocked with Jiyong’s attitude “sorry, I’m just really tired lately” seeing how his mother react.. “Did you cry for G’s sake?” her mother asked didn’t care at all she was worried for him, it was the first time seeing her son like this..

Jiyong bent his neck sideways ignoring his mother, he sits next to her.. “Okay since you’re ignoring me for the first time, but wait” she stops her track for a minute “shouldn’t you be working by now?” she looked at the watch and then her son “Jiyong-ah! I’m talking to you!” she shouted in frustration the made Jiyong answer back “I’m not going to work, anni.. I am quitting work” he plays with the food using chop stick “did you and Sandara fight over things? It’s the only reason I could think of” his mother tried to calm her voice knowing her son is not in the mood, she knows how Jiyong changed mood when he and Dara fight but today is different, he acts as if like he is giving up his life. “Son, you can still fix things but not this way.. it won’t help” she continued talking when he didn’t talk back.
