Your Warm Hands: Ruki

It was rainy afternoon on a Friday, i was running down to street to street soaking wet, but it didn't matter. I had only one thing in mind, Ruki was finally coming home from his tour. It had been 2 years since i saw my best childhood friend, i missed him so much since he had left.

I had finally came across his apartment building, i went into the elevator and tried to squeeze out some water off of my clothes before approaching his door. The elevator came to a stop and opened; i ran towards his door and rang the door bell.

As the door opened i saw his gorgeous look down upon me, "Hiya there Ruki!" i waved. He gave a surprise expression "Akari?!" he yelled looking down and up at my body "Your all drenched in water!" 

"Looks like someone is surprised to see me" i giggled, "C'mon in" he invited me in and closing the door. "Baka! why didn't you take a cab?! are you an idiot for coming like this?!" he asked angrily. I gave a frown and looked down.

"You could've said hi first. or i missed you... i guess your not happy to see me" i pouted, "might as well leave" i turned towards the door. Suddenly i felt him grab my wrist turning me back, "Akari!" he pulled me into a hug, "I've missed you a lot more then you know" he said hugging me tighter but then suddenly letting go. "but first go take a shower and dry yourself up, you can borrow my clothes" he advised me as i nodded.

Ruki had always hated me for getting wet from the rain or sitting on a cold pavenment floor without a mat, he said it wasn't good for my health, especially since i'm a girl. I came into the welcoming water in the shower and cleaned myself, i smiled to myself remembering when we first met.

{Flashback}
I was 7 years old back then when he was 8 and a grade older than me, i was walking home from school until i felt a rain drop on my head, i looked up suddenly it started to rain. i ran across a phone booth and went inside, i was soaken wet and tried to squeeze off the water from my clothes. After 15 mintues waiting for the rain to stop i was shaking uncontrollably and developing the 1st stage of a cold. i sneezed and coughed from time to time, oh how i wished to go home i thought. Until i heard a boy's voice. "Hey you! Little Girl!"

I looked up seeing a boy offering his umbrella, i stared in confusion. "Girls like you aren't supposed to get wet from the rain... its unhealthy" he said while looking away and blushing. "Hurry up and take it" he said as i nodded and took it from his hands, he started walking away into the pouring rain. I was shocked, i didn't want him to get a cold either so i ran next to him offering half of the other side of the umbrella. he looked down at me "It's okay, i'm a guy, i can handle it" he said walking faster. "Well it doesn't matter! you'll still catch a cold! Hey!"
i yelled as he ignored me still walking. "Atleast can we walk together with the umbre---" i started to sneeze and cough while shivering. 

Suddenly i felt warm arm wrap around me as the other was taking the umbrella from me. "Baka see! you're already sick" he pulled out an extra jacket in his back pack and wrapped it around me.

As he touched my hands he was shocked. "Your hands even feel like ice! its not good for a girl to be cold, they're supposed to be warm!" he yelled cupping my hands on to his own while holding onto the umbrella breathing warm air from his mouth and rubbing friction.

"Why?" i asked him. "Because your a girl and its unhealthy for the body" he answered back. "Why?" i asked again. "Because...” he gazed upon my eyes, "Girls being warm is a sign of lady like and is important for a guy, it gives them comfort and stuff like that..." he conclude and walked me home.

{End of Flashback}

Since then, i did the exact opposite from what he told me. I always did something that would bother him, like touching snow without gloves or not drying my hair after a shower. I felt happy him worrying about me. i wanted him to make me feel warm and get closer to him. For some reason, i loved torturing him like this, we became best friends since.

But today, I felt like doing the opposite, I felt like I should be doing my job as a woman to stay warm and making someone I care about feel comforted. And to be honest, I had a crush on him for the longest time!

I got out of the shower, dried myself off and had put on the clothes that Ruki let me borrow. I headed out into the living room and found a note on the table.

Akari,

Since you were in the shower for so long, I went to go get a movie from the video store so we can watch it together okay? Won’t be long!

Takanori

I smiled, I went over to the tv and flipped random channels until he returned. About ten minutes later I heard the door open. “Akari! I’m home!” I ran up towards up only this time I saw him being drenched in water. “tsk tsk tsk, now who’s the one wet?!” I giggled gently closing the door as he came in. Ruki took a 5 minute shower and came out. “Hey can we watch the movie now?!” I whined as he went over to the dvd play and popped in a movie chuckling. “Alright, alright” he said as he sat down on the couch while I sat on the arm chair on the other side.

“Akari, you know, your far away from where I am.” He started. I looked at him and shrugged, “so?” I replied

“I’m lonely and cold over here by myself” he patted the couched telling me to come sit next to him. I obeyed and snuggled myself on him then grabbing his hands rubbing friction to keep them warm. “Is that better?” I asked smiling. “You’re so warm” he kissed my hands as I blushed and giggled.

“So, how was your tour?” I asked sitting up. “It was fun but I was lonely” He responded. “Lonely?! But you had the guys with you! You had Reita, Uruha k---”

“I meant a different loneliness” He interrupted; he lifted my hands cupping his cheeks which were cold as ice. “Your really warm Akari” he said then pulling me into a hug with my hands still on his cold cheeks, “I needed this for a long time… I’ve been craving for this warmth from you… ever since I can remember… you were so stupid” he stated.

 {Flashback}

There was this one time, where I actually stayed warm. We were in high school, I was a sophomore going on a winter field trip up on a tour up in a snowy area in a historic village along with Ruki’s grade level (Junior).

“Akari! Don’t! Here, wear these before touching the snow” Ruki yelled giving me pair of extra gloves. “Arigato, but its just snow ri--” he put his index finger on my lips “Just do as I tell you and keep your hands warm.”  He said walking away following the other classmates on the tour as I ran up catching up to him.

Suddenly, a snow fox had caught my eyes, I walked from where I can get a good shot to take a picture. “Akari c’mon!” I heard Ruki calling, but then as I almost clicked the button the fox had ran. “Oh no, come back!” I ran and followed the white fox.

Ruki’s P.O.V

As I waited for Akari to come back I looked over to my classmates who were moving away from our distance. “C’mon Akari!” I yelled but as I looked over from where Akari was kneeling, she disappeared all of a sudden. “Akari!” I yelled her name again cupping my hands to my mouth. I trailed her foot prints, I saw her running from what it seemed like she was chasing something, I ran and followed for 10 minutes.

“Baka! Come back!” I screamed. Finally she had stopped and looked around. “Aw, he ran away! And I was so close.” she said pouting. “Baka baka baka! So?! It doesn’t matter! C’mon let’s go ba--” I looked around, we were in the middle of nowhere but snow. Even our trailing had disappeared, “Got to be kidding me.” I panicked “What? Something the matter?” Akari asked. “Oh, …” was the only response I can give, she looked around as well and had realized what I been talking about. “WERE LOST!” she screamed echoing from far distance. I covered “Do you want to die from an avalanche?!” I yelled pointing at the mountains that were deeply covered in snow, she shook her head.

I gave a deep sigh, “C’mon we’ll just have to walk back from here” I said as I started walking angry at Akari. “Taka-kun” she said grabbing my arm, “I’m so--” I pulled away and kept walking forward. “This is your fault, & yes you should be sorry.” I said in a hoarse tone.

After an hour or later, we ended up nowhere but snow, the wind and snow blew hard as ever, turning into a blizzard. My body was cold as ever! I felt dizzy, my eye sight grew worse, my fingers were turning blue and my breathing became heavy. I stumbled over and had passed out on to the cold icy snow and the last thing I heard was Akari calling me name.

Akari’s P.O.V

I frowned the whole time while walking behind Ruki, I felt so guilty for what had happened I almost wanted to cry my eyes out. I attempted to apologize again until I found Ruki stumbling then fell in the snow, “Taka-kun! Are you okay?!” I yelled adjusting him up, “Taka-kun! Please don’t, not now!” I cried, the strong snow blew onto my face, ‘this blizzard is getting worse’ I thought. I looked down on Ruki’s face, he was so pale, I took off one of my gloves and felt his whole face. His cheeks were cold as ice and he had a fever.

“ANYONE! PLEASE! HELP US! PLEEEEASE!” I screamed but it was no use, I had wrapped his arm around my neck and started walking. “Don’t worry, Taka-kun I’ll find shelter just hang in there” I cried.

Not long before Ruki had passed out, I spotted a small old house that looked like no one was living in it for a long time. I ran towards the house with Ruki and went inside, I layed him on the wood floor closing all the doors and windows. I went over to Ruki and felt his head again, he still had a high fever. Then I heard a faint voice from him, “Ak-k-kari…I’m…so …s-s-so…c-c-cold” he said shaking uncontrollably. I nodded and ensured him he was going to be fine.

I looked around and saw a fire pit with old wood and rocks. I grabbed the rocks and tried to spark a fire. I made a few attempts but it was useless, “DAMN IT!” I cried throwing the rocks at the ground. I went back to Ruki who was sweating from his fever. I started to cry and panic, scared of what might happen to Ruki. But then I remembered what Ruki had said to me back then

“Girls being warm is a sign of lady like and is important for a guy, it gives them comfort and stuff like that... and… if a man ever needs to be kept warm from the cold he has his lady to make him warm again… which shows how much she cares for him.”

I wiped my tears and took off my jacket. I laid Ruki up taking off his jacket as well and no, I wasn’t going to strip him. I pulled him into a hug while rubbing every inch of his top body creating heat and friction. I felt Ruki’s heavy breath on my neck slightly giving me the goose bumps “Akari, you’re… so…soo… warm” I heard him breathed as he leaned his head against my neck with his lips slightly touching making me shiver. “I’m sorry Taka-kun, this is all I can do to keep you warm.”

He held me tighter, “Akari, my face…” he coughed, and I placed my hands on his cheeks, “So warm…like a lady is supposed to be ”he laid upon them smiling.“Let’s stay like this a bit longer Akari.” He huffed. The next day, a search team had finally found us sleeping while hugging each other with our jackets in top of us as blankets. Soon after our trip was over, Ruki had been out sick for three days due to his illness of being out in the cold.

Akari’s P.O.V

“Hey! Atleast I kept you warm throughout the night that day! And said I was sorry!” I pouted my lips. “Still I was still sick though so ha! Anyways, can you go get snacks in the kitchen?” He asked, I got off of him and went into the kitchen. I opened the cupboards finding chips, as I reached for it, suddenly I lights and power went out. I heard the loud thunders and lighting. “RUKI!” I yelled trying to find my way back in the living room, “Don’t worry, the power just went out.” He replied. “noooo you think?!” I .

It was pure darkness. "Akari? Where are you? Please tell me before I run into a wall or something." he laughed slightly after that. He has a sense of humor, nice.
I laughed back. "I'm over here."
"I'm sorry, I'm not sure where 'over here' is." he laughed once more.
"Walk straight, take a left, then walk straight again. I'm the right corner."
He did as I told him and he ran into me. I felt his warm body pressing against yours, forcing me into the wall.
"Oops. I'm sorry." he said sincerely, and took a few steps back.
"It's fine." I smiled.

“Let’s find a flashlight, I have one in the cabnet” he took my hand and walked over to the counter and spotted the flashlight. We went back to the living room and sat down together on the couch. The minutes ticked by and you began to feel awkward.
"So … I’ve been wondering for a long time…back then, after I came back from being sick… I heard a rumor..." Ruki began.
"W-what rumor?" I asked.
"A rumor about you liking me."
"Ha! Uhh... Pshh. No..." I said, feeling my cheeks heat up and turn bright red.
He laughs. "Well, your blushing says different. And that's too bad."
"Too bad? Why is that too bad?" I said, my cheeks turning a darker red.
"Because I liked you too... A lot."
"Y-you did?" i smiled

“Since the day I met you on that rainy day long ago” he said fiddling with his fingers
"And… I always wanted to do something..." he said.
"Do w-." before I could finish i felt his soft tender lips against yours. I couldn't believe he was kissing me, well, trying to kiss me. i got lost in all the excitement of him kissing me, that i forgot to kiss back. It was too late. He pulled back and was giving you a confused look.
"I don't understand..." he said, sadness creeping into his luscious velvet voice. "Did I..."
"No. It's not you, trust me. I just was in shock." i said in sincere.
"Shock of what? How are you in shock?"
"Of you kissing me. You have no clue how much I wanted you to do that."
"So... If I kiss you again, you wouldn't mind?" he said smirking.
"Of course not." I gave him a smile.

 Once again, i felt his lips against mine. This time, i kissed back with more passion. We were probably kissing like that for about 10 minutes until he pulled me onto his lap, my legs on either side of him.

“I’m cold Akari, give me warmth” he sighed

 He tightened his arms around my waist and i tightened my arms around his neck.
He traced the outside of my lips with his tongue and I granted him entrance. our tongues wrestled until I admit in defeat. i felt his hands creep up my shirt. i gave a shiver at the touch of his hands. i felt him smirk against your lips. His hands creep out of my shirt and back on my waist. He kissed along my jawline and i gave another shiver.

{About 20 minutes later}

“So warm… I love it…” he said smiling
I blush bright red I kissed on top of his head, suddenly the lights and power came back on. I got up and was about to check if the rain stopped from the window but Ruki pulled me to sit with him.

“Don’t go, I’m still cold” he pleaded as I obeyed

He sat me on his lap and pressed my back against his chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist, and whispered in my ears.
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
I smile and nod. He kissed my cheek and we both remain like that the rest of the night.
