Chapter 1

After the private wedding, the newly wed couple got on their car to make their way to the Yangyang International airport. While the hoteliers were helping the couple load their “matching” luggage into the car’s trunk, Mo Ne and Jae Wan said their goodbyes to Mi Nyeo, Ju Han and Jae Wan’s close friends. The couple glowed with happiness as they said their farewells and Jae Wan’s hand never left Mo Ne’s back.

On the way to the airport, Jae Wan was driving and for the first time since a very long time, he was grinning from ear to ear since the morning of the wedding. It was a like a dream come true for him. A year ago when he left Ciel, he never would have imagined that he would be back with Mo Ne. But now after all the pain and tears, they have finally got married and their lives began now. A day before the wedding he and Mo Ne went to visit Mo Ne’s father at the alter and he  promised, “Chairman, may I please address you as “father-in-law” now ? I came with Mo Ne today to ask for her hand in marriage and I promise to love Ah Mo Ne forever and protect her for as long as I live. I promise to make her happy.” Having said that, they both gave their respect as they bowed down. Now, all that Jae Wan needs to think of is to protect his family and Ciel. It’s now falling into a perfect picture.

The way to the airport was long but now time together was never too long but always short. Mo Ne was busy checking the passports and making sure that they have everything that they need. Jae Wan then asked, “How are you feeling? Are you tired?” and Mo Ne then looked up and locked eyes with Jae Wan for a few seconds as they smiled as each other. She then held his free hand and said “The best feeling.” The couple looked happier than ever.

They didn’t talk much but looked enraptured in their own world. They didn't need to be talking but having each other was more than enough for them. When the song, “Carrot Song,” started playing on the radio, Mo Ne exclaimed “Oh! Hyun Woo-ah, do you remember this song? I used to sing it a lot when I was at university!” Then Mo Ne started singing along with a cute voice, using her hands to dance along and turning to Jae Wan to whenever the part “I love you, you love me” came up. Jae Wan couldn’t resist the cuteness of Mo Ne and couldn’t stop laughing. Then out of the blue, he started singing along and animating.

At the airport, while Jae Wan was unloading the luggage, he asked Mo Ne, “You don’t regret going to Jeju Island instead of going abroad right? I’m sorry that the honeymoon is only 3 days. I wish we could have extended it but we can’t be absent from the hotel for too long.” Jae Wan was full of apologetic eyes but the short honeymoon didn’t bother Mo Ne. She smiled and replied, “It doesn’t matter where  it is or how short it is. As long as I’m with you and we get time alone, it's alright for me.” With that said, they both smiled and made their way into the airport.

Soon after passing the airport gates and terminals, it was now time to board the plane. Although the time of flight is approximately an hour and Mo Ne wanted to enjoy the time with Jae Wan, she couldn’t help but fall asleep. She refused to admit to her husband that she’s exhausted but she was starting to doze off. Jae Wan understood how weary his wife must be after all the wedding planning and keeping the hotel together. Mo Ne slept with her head on Jae Wan’s shoulder while Jae Wan read some newspaper.

The plane landed soon and shortly before Jae Wan woke Mo Ne from her short nap. As soon as they stepped out of Jeju International Airport, Mo Ne was already feeling so exhilarated. Despite her short nap and fatigue, she never fail to show her jolly side. She then asked, “Cha Jae Wan, where is the hotel? How are we going to get there?

Jae Wan turned around abruptly and said, “Mo Ne-ya, now you shouldn’t call me Cha Jae Wan anymore, isn’t it?” Mo Ne smiled inside but instead she said, “Because your name is Cha Jae Wan, I called you that. Why? Is there something wrong with that?” Jae Wan knew Mo Ne was teasing me so he blatantly replied the answer she expected, “Husband. I’m now your husband so she could address me by my title, isn’t it ?” Although Mo Ne got the answer she wanted, she didn’t stop there and said, “Well, you have to earn the title to fit the role isn’t it ?” With that Jae Wan didn’t understand what Mo Ne meant. But he lightheartedly replied, “Fair enough.”

Instead of replying Mo Ne about where or how they are going to get to the hotel, he led the way to the car he hired to drive around Jeju. Jae Wan opened the roof of the car as soon as they took off and Mo Ne raised her hands in the air as Jae Wan sped through the road.

Meanwhile, back at the hotel, the situation was chaotic. Only recently the General Manager had come back to plan top star Chae Wan’s wedding and now after the ceremony, both the General Manager and the Chairwoman are absent from the hotel. After the successful wedding, Ciel has earned back a bit of its name although the system isn’t running as smoothly yet for the new Vice-President hasn’t been appointed. Mi Nyeo who used to be a training manager of all the staff still hasn't recovered from her illness. Ciel was in a pandemonium as more calls came in to reserve for weddings. They all wanted the General Manager’s assistance in planning their wedding. The reservations keep increasing and more guests coming in but the staffs and hoteliers can’t keep their work in regulation. Everyone at the hotel wished for the couple’s return as soon as possible although they knew they had to enjoy their honeymoon. After all, it was everyone who insisted the honeymoon and compelled them to get a break.

For the time being, Ju Han was supervising along with Soo-ahn, Joon-Sung, Hong Joon and Do-Jin – the Las Vegas friends and co-workers of Jae Wan. However, Ju Han was new to most of the things happening in the hotel so he knew little. In other words, he was just there to be in charge of the hotel for a short time. While Ju-Han was walking around the hotel, he came across a bit of a surprise when he saw a woman walk towards him.

“Long time no see,” the lady greeted and for the first time, he felt a bit of an excitement. “Long time no see, Haemil-owner,” he addressed, “so are you returning to the hotel now?” The lady smiled and replied, “You can call me Chae-Kyung, Mr.Ju Han, and no I am not back at Haemil. But as a shareholder, I should visit often, isn’t it?”

There is a bit of unfamiliar friendliness going on between the two of them that was never noticed. “So I heard you are now in charge of Ciel while your brother and sister-in-law are on their honeymoon. How are you finding it?” Chae-Kyung asked and Ju Han simply replied, “Wow, news spread fast around here isn’t it?” To that, Chae-Kyung stated, “Well this is Ciel hotel,” which added more meaning to it than it should. However, their short conversation did not end there. It seemed that Ju Han was easily engaged while talking to her that he suggested to take her to dinner the following night. Surprisingly, without further hesitation, Chae-Kyung accepted the offer for she considered it as an “act of catching up” although they were never friends before.

Mo Ne was taken by surprise when she realized Jae Wan had booked the most beautiful hotel in Jeju – Lotte Hotel Jeju. Upon entering their luxurious suite room, Mo Ne was touched when she saw that Jae Wan has requested special offers. Their bed was sprinkled with rose petals and the bathroom had unlit candles arranged around in a heart shape and a warm bath with fragrant flowers prepared. The room smelled of sweet-smelling flowers and fragrant candles. Mo Ne turned around and said, “Wow, Baek Hyun Woo, I never knew you had this side to you.” Jae Wan really loved the  fact that Mo Ne finally addressed him by his real name. However, he replied, “Well, since you were always the one to make the big moves with the wedding proposal and getting back together, I think I should be able to handle the honeymoon.”

Mo Ne turned around to her husband who was standing a few feet behind her and hugged him. Whenever Mo Ne gives him a hug to show her support and to give him strength, he always felt good. This time, it meant more to him. For a moment, they were frozen in time as they were wrapped together in each other’s arms. But Mo Ne soon broke free and suggested, “I’m hungry. Let’s change our clothes and go out to have lunch.” To that Jae Wan agreed and soon after they were on their way to the nearest restaurant. Jae Wan then suggested, “There’s this really nice seafood restaurant in the village, do you want to go there instead of a formal restaurant?” Mo Ne instantly agreed because in that moment, it did not matter where they went for lunch, she just needed food.

They soon arrived to the small local restaurant in the village and Jae Wan did all the ordering because Mo Ne didn't know what was good around the area. Both of them were wearing their comfortable clothes – Jae Wan in a long sleeve shirt and knee short khaki pants while Mo Ne in a pair of shorts and a cute blouse. Mo Ne has never seen Jae Wan in short pants and she liked getting to see the other side of him. As soon as the food arrived Mo Ne didn’t hesitate and ate while Jae Wan was still being the typical Cha Jae Wan.

Back at the hotel, Mi Nyeo was alone with a housekeeper in the resident housing that Jae Wan used to live in while Ju Han was at the hotel. She keeps saying, “I miss Mo Ne and Hyun Woo,” although she knew they were on away on a honeymoon. She has never been left alone before. She then went to see the cat that Mo Ne and Jae Wan used to raise. However, as Mi Nyeo stepped out, she felt an intense headache. She screamed as her head pounded and suddenly collapsed.
