The girls are quietly talking to each other in the van. With cameras from the Swedish program filming them today; it is hard to understand since the girls are mumbling in their mix of languages to each other. Out of nowhere, Maria starts to sing for the low music on the radio. Carolina asks the camera-woman at the passenger seat at the front to change the radio channel and Maria quickly turns around in her seat to hit Carolina’s leg; since she was obviously listening to the song playing because she was singing to it.

“We will arrive in a few minutes,” the manager driving announces to the girls and all five members together starts to warm up their voices and go through what to say and such. The woman filming them asks them when the warm-up is almost done where they are going.

“We are going for a signing,” Carolina answers and repeats ‘going’ to Hannah next to her who had repeated it too – both focusing on the pronouncing. “Often before a signing, we warm up in the van like this so our voices won’t get soar later.” The van stops and the members are talking on the way out, reminding each other of things. The cameras meet them outside, taking notice of that Emelia waits up for Julia walking out last while the other members starts to walk towards the door at the indoor parking lot.

“For every release, we do fan-signings,” Hannah is telling the camera-woman in a low voice while slowly walking. She is looking down a little, not really comfortable in front of the Swedish cameras like her members. “It is … to meet fans, exchange words and let them know we are thankful for their support. Kind of.”

“Hannah is always nervous to meet our fans,” Maria comes up next to her, kind of sneaking up for the camera. Hannah smiles and puts her hands on her chest, nodding in agreement. Maria is smiling when they get a question. “It’s always fun to meet our fans. Like this, we get to exchange a few words with each fan that comes up to us, and it is always interesting. Hannah is like this now, but she will get really cute in front of the fans: because our fans love our cute baby.”

Maria laughs and runs away with Hannah after her. She knew she would be chased after those words.

A little later, the girls comes to a small platform that has been placed in the building, surrounded by hundreds of fans that all screams loudly when sighting 5 Pieces. Hannah, who had looked nervous in the parking lot, is now smiling and the camera can’t catch her nervousness. The group performs [Switch] first (lip-synch, because they don’t have the right equipment there for a live) and afterwards, tables are put on the platform. 5 Pieces sits down behind the tables and Hannah smiles at Julia sitting next to here when the two of them are whispering to each other about how difficult it had been to perform on the small platform. Of course they have practiced for it, but it surely is difficult when it isn’t practice. The staff is still fixing with everything, so the girls get to catch their breaths while the fans are happily waiting around them. Hannah is leaning with her arms on the table when Emelia joins in the conversation, saying that Hannah was too close when they were shifting position. Hannah just laughs and she laughs even more when the fans in front of them scream. Julia pinches Hannah’s cheek since she thought the screaming came because of Hannah’s cute laughter. Hannah looks away, embarrassed and the fans scream even more. Hannah leans back in her seat and tries to secretly hit Julia on the arm while both of them are laughing. Fans are always so fun to be around with.

The signing can finally start. Carolina makes everyone laugh with her when she can’t make her marker pen work and is like crazy shaking the pen in the air. Hannah looks around her, asking Julia in a low voice if she didn’t get any banana milk – since the other members have it. A woman standing behind Hannah asks what it is and Hannah asks her too and she then apologizes for the silly question. But she is still given banana milk, so Hannah is happy. She gives an innocent smile to the fan that comes up to her – since she was so dorky about the banana milk.

Fans really scream a lot today. 5 Pieces has several fan-signing during the day, they meet a lot of different fans. And the girls are in their normal moods that make them joke with each other and end up hitting the others on the arm. Even just talking to each other – more like whisper in a try to not make it too obvious – makes the fans scream. The cameras follow them and during the fan-signing the camera comes up to ask a few questions to the girls who mostly are focusing on the signing.

“There are a lot of foreigners here,” Emelia says. “Fans from China and Japan have come, not just for our signing but also for tomorrow’s broadcast performance. Ah, from Philippines too,” she added when Carolina next to her said it. “It’s exciting. We have been active a lot in Korea for about six months or something, but our fans are still just as excited as us for our activities.”

Hannah laughs when a Japanese fan comes up in front of her with a Pikachu cuddle toy in arm size. Hannah says it’s so cute in Japanese and the fan says that she heard Hannah likes Pokémon.

“I really like it,” Hannah answers happily. “Thank you.”

The fan-signings goes really well. After it has ended, the girls says goodbye to the Swedish staff that have been filming them and they heads to the agency for their “acapella” lesson. The lesson doesn’t go as well as the rest of the day has; Mr. Kim keeps interrupting them to correct every single small detail. Hannah can’t be heard, Emelia’s dark voice is heard too much; there is always some detail that the girls messes up. All five members gets irritated at not just each other but also themselves, but they are all stubborn and no matter how irritated they are they don’t give up.

“Again!” Maria bursts out and throws her arms in the air. “Don’t mess up now.”

But of course they do. Mr. Kim didn’t expect it to be easy, and he knows that 5 Pieces is never easy to handle. The girls are loud when they argument with each other about their faults, but once they starts to practice their irritated voices becomes very beautiful – though they keep making mistakes. At the end of the lesson, Mr. Kim tells the girls that improvement doesn’t come within a day.

“Yeah, yeah, we know,” Emelia rolls her eyes, all of them heading towards the practice room. “And now we’ll go practice on something else we at.”

“Ya, don’t sound so negative. We aren’t that bad at [Switch] now,” Carolina says.

“Sure,” Emelia chuckles.

“You seriously think we at it?” Julia sounds surprised at their rapper. Emelia rolls her eyes and looks at her with raised eyebrows; “We did at it. Now, we don’t at much.” Maria puts her arm around Hannah, smiling and says that Emelia is just upset since all of them do know they don’t . Emelia smiles at her members when entering the practice room. She knows how great they are.

“You’re mean,” Carolina pouts

Finally, it’s Thursday. After performing on M Countdown, Hannah walks inside the studio recording where Park Hyekyung turns around in the chair and greets her with a smile. He looks calm but she can see on that smile in his face that he has been looking forward for today just as her, but for a different reason. Hannah puts down her bag on the sofa and asks what he wants to show her. She sits down on a chair across the table, putting her arms on the table with her eyes on his.

“You’re gonna love it,” Hyekyung says and puts down a paper on the table so Hannah can look at it. A second later he turns around towards the recording equipment and starts to play music. Hannah leans more over the table to look at the paper, looking at the lyrics.

“Butterfly?” she asks and looks up at him with a weird face expression. Hyekyung just smiles and tells her to go through it. She does as she is told and while listening to the music she reads the lyrics. When it ends, Hannah is quietly looking at the lyrics. Hyekyung is still smiling, knowing exactly why she isn’t saying anything.

“Jonghyun said you would be doubtful about it,” he chuckles and he then goes on: “I got the idea when I heard him call you Nabi. A few days later, it made me think of SHINee’s [Ring Ding Dong], and I got the idea of this song. 5 Pieces’ Hannah already has the image of being the y and shy baby of the group, and this song is like … an upgrade of your song from two years ago.”

“Are you serious?” Hannah looks very doubtful.

“You don’t like it?” Hyekyung wonders. Hannah grimaces, a doubtful grimace and he knows she is just insecure. “We can try it, at least, right?”

Hannah nods. They do start right away, and just half an hour later, Hannah is fully focused on it and working with Hyekyung and Pete in the studio. Hyekyung changes lyrics during the recording. Hannah records it and while hearing that, Hyekyung uses his talented musical brain and finds out a better sound or lyrics and he scribbles it down to let Hannah try that instead. He adds things too as he feels like in the recording. Hyekyung has worked with 5 Pieces ever since they recorded their first song in Korea, and he works well with the group. He always tells them what he thinks and is open for ideas. Pete is always fun to work with. He makes jokes and for today’s song he is really having fun, saying it matches Hannah’s image but not her personality.

The clock is closing in on midnight when Manager Lim looks inside the recording studio. Hannah is sitting in the chair, going through changes for the song again with Hyekyung. “Hannah, come on now,” her manager simply says and Hannah nods, grabbing her things right away.

“I’ll fix another time for us to finish it,” Hyekyung tells her and she do high-five with him and Pete, agreeing on it tiredly. Manager Lim tells them to go home and sleep too, and Hyekyung just tells them goodnight while Hannah already has walked out. Hannah comes home to the apartment and she goes straight to bed with her new Pikachu cuddle toy and sends one last text message to Jonghyun, telling him goodnight.

A few hours later, she gets up. Before her members are ready to leave, Hannah heads to the hospital for her monthly check-up. Her doctor greets her kindly even in the mornings and the routine questions starts while the check-up goes on. Her doctor tells her to calm down and stop looking at the clock, saying that the check-up will take as much time as it always does. Hannah apologizes; she knows she has a time at the saloon for today’s performance on Music Bank. The check-up goes well. Her body has recovered like it should, but she is still sloppy about her training and eating. She trains (gym, dance practice, the exercises at the apartment) more than she eats, so she looses weight rather than staying in shape. She is even given a tip of how many times a day she has to eat, since Hannah has that habit now to not eat a lot at once. Since the check-up went well, Hannah meets up with her members at the saloon to get her hair and make-up done.

“You guys really think it is weird?” Carolina asks, leaning towards the make-up table where Hannah is getting ready. Carolina is already done, so she is waiting for the others. Hannah just smiles. “Maria found it on some site; fans are apparently taking notice in everything. But I don’t think it’s weird.”

“No, it’s not weird. Siwon is always popular on TV programs thanks to his huge gestures,” Maria says sarcastically and Carolina pouts.

“I don’t gesture like Siwon,” Carolina mentions. Maria and Hannah both smiles at each other.

“You ALWAYS use gestures, Carro,” Maria says. “Whenever you talk you use gestures, even when you talk to the phone! Girl, the person on the phone, can – not – see – you!”

“Hannah does the same!” Carolina bursts defending herself. “She bows whenever she greets on the phone.”

“I don’t do it that often,” Hannah laughs but Maria kind of agrees with Carolina on that – the stylist too can’t help but to laugh at their words. The girls are in a good mood today, and when they are in the van heading to the music program, the girls are loudly singing and trying to dance to the music playing. They laugh and joke with each other because of how they sing and dance in the van; you know they are never serious when singing in the car. They arrive at Music Bank and after going inside their dressing-room, Hannah sits down with her laptop. She had forgotten it in the morning when she was heading to the hospital, but Julia was kind to remember to bring it along when they left the apartment after that Hannah asked her through a text, of course.

Emelia sits down next to Hannah, asking what she is busy writing down so quickly on the laptop.

“I have been wondering,” Hannah answers. “You know about the stories I write, right?”

“The one you let us read or the one you won’t let us read?” Emelia jokes.

Hannah gives her a chuckle and rolls her eyes before explaining: “Since the one I have let you read is going to be published, and the follow-up books of it will be too, I have wondered if my other story might be published one day as well. And since the main character in Joe is a girl, I thought I would write about a boy in the next one.”

“But you have already written a whole book of it as a girl,” Emelia grimaces. Hannah smiles at her, saying she just has to change some things in it. And it’s no rush, but Hannah thinks it would be fun to write about a boy as the main character. Hannah keeps writing, just to stop and glance at Emelia.

“EM!” Hannah whines and pushes her friend away. Emelia laughs, saying she didn’t read while everyone who had looked could clearly see how she even leaned a little closer to Hannah to see the laptop screen. Hannah pushes her again away from her. Emelia keeps laughing, having so much fun teasing the youngest about her innocent writing that she doesn’t want others to read. Emelia moves to sit a little further away so Hannah doesn’t have to glance at her every other second to make sure she isn’t peeking. When Hannah puts the laptop away – done for the moment – Emelia finally gets to sit closer to her and they are both smiling at how childish it looks like even from their eyes. They keep nudging each other with their elbows until Manager Lim tells them to stop their childish behaviour.

“Exactly, Hannah, stop it,” Emelia tells Hannah and gives her a final nudge.

Hannah gives her a surprise face expression before nudging her harder back, saying she started it. “Ladies!” Manager Lim says in a warning sound in his voice. Hannah stands up with a smile and Emelia smiles too. Manager Lim shakes his head before going outside to take a call, reminding Emelia and Hannah to not sit next to each other. Hannah sits down in another chair, listening to the conversation some others are having in the room. They are waiting for their rehearsal to begin. Just a few minutes later, Manager Lim comes back inside the room and he is smiling widely as if he just won million of dollars. It’s not just that he is smiling; he is practically shining, which gives him attention from the others who are asking what the smile is for.

“I’ve got some news for you, Hannah,” Manager Lim walks up to with that brilliant smile of his. Hannah just looks confused. “I just got a call from Manager Park, and she apparently got a call from the casting director from Midnight Dream.”

“Oh…” Hannah simply says. It’s the drama she last week had so trouble with because of Honggi.

“And, it seems like they think you are really fit for the role,” Manager Lim finishes off and he looks so happy that it looks like is about to start jumping. Maria gives out a shout – since everyone had listened out of curiosity – and she hugs the stylist next to her before walking up next to where Hannah is sitting. “Hannah, you are now part of the acting cast of the up-coming drama, Dream.”

“Midnight Dream,” Hannah corrects her and finally she smiles. With a light and barely hearable squeal, Hannah jumps up from her seat and throws her arms around her manager. Maria is jumping next to her and when Hannah lets go of their manager, the girls starts to jump around of happiness. Carolina joins them too, all of them celebrating. “I’m really making my Korean acting debut…” Hannah says some minutes later, barely believing it and then she looks worried. “It’s horrible!”

Those around her, if they don’t laugh at her words, they look shocked for that she says that. Hannah looks almost terrified.

“I don’t think I can do it!” Hannah says to her members. Maria quickly hits her on the arm, pretty hard.

“Do not start with that irritating, annoying and unnecessary insecurity of yours!” Maria says strictly with a finger pointing at Hannah.

Hannah is so excited about the drama though. Of course she is frightened to act in a drama after two years – and in Korea for the first time – and she is really worried of how it will go. She has taken acting classes, but she is still not an actress, right? She is still focusing the most on singing. But the drama she has been confirmed to be in is about music; it is about a band. That makes her worried too, since she has to do well both as a singer and actress in the drama. And is Honggi going to be in it too? Sure it might feel good to have someone there that she knows, but she is still unsure about their relationship. But the excitement and worries about the drama is such a mix that during the rehearsal she is happily jumping and singing cutely one second and then pouting and standing still the next. Maria gives her a hug, coming up with ideas for how they will be able to practice – Maria wants to help out since she knows how worried Hannah is about it.

But Hannah’s number one choice is always 5 Pieces, so she is concentrating a lot during the performance today.
