Chapter 1: The attention to detail is amazing. Every word chosen felt like it served a purpose in creating beautiful imagery of a broken, fragile protagonist trapped within their own pain and memories and the what could have beens. It's a very short piece, but the emotion is vivid and plentiful.
Before I started reading I thought about who I should envision, but the page loaded before I decided. And I found that once I jumped in and started reading it, there wasn't even a need to add a visual. The focus was only on the protagonist and what he was doing, feeling, and thinking. He was the only character needed to form that connection and to empathize.
This was a nice, short drabble. Glad I had a chance to read it.
