Launched September 20, 2014, Element is an asianfanfics entity dedicated to provide objective, constructive plot-based, content-based reviews of stories as per requested by authors.

ABOUT THE REVIEWER

I'm a science major graduate with a massive appetite for stories and literature since grade school. You can send in your request to see how I review. Reading and solving are my past time. I'm a nerd. ^^

REQUEST DURATION

Rush expedite (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday):

The same day for pieces less than 10,000 words (One-shots and incomplete stories).

Two to three days for stories with words ranging from 30k to 70k.

The requesters would be informed via bulletin if the review would take longer to be accomplished.

HOW THE STORY IS REVIEWED

Reviews provided by the reviewer would be graded. The stories would be evaluated by content and development. Likewise, the written review to be provided by the reviewer would not release giveaways to the ending of the story.  The reviews would be done with the highest amount of integrity and modesty that could be rendered. Sarcastic remarks would be avoided as much as possible to provide as much respect to the authors of the stories.

The appearance of foreword, title, and description will not be evaluated since they mainly depend on the style of the author and the atmosphere intended to bring to the readers. However, it should be noted that it would affect the initial impression of the reviewer toward the story.

Mainly evaluates the story that is already laid out, and not suggest what the story should look like and how it should go. If the piece is horror-based, the story would not be suggested to be a romance-based one. The author should indicate whether what atmosphere he/she was trying to bring on the table (see Author's Remarks section in the Request Form).

The review is content-based and plot-based.

STORIES ACCEPTED FOR REVIEW

Erotic-based stories such as and -driven stories (PWP) are NOT accepted. The reviewer does not accept explicitly inappropriate mature-themed (, drug abuse, teenage pregnancy, etc.) stories. Same gender pairings are NOT accepted.

One-shots are accepted. Incomplete stories are accepted. A complete chaptered story will be accepted as long as it is less than 300,000 words, but the review would be released at a much later time. I will read the story but the review might come out much later. 

The review laboratory does not aim to evaluate grammar and spelling. The reviewer had assumed that the author had proof-read the story. If there are obvious grammar and tense anomalies, the reviewer will humbly point it out. As much as possible, good reading experience should be shared with the readers. A good storyline can be hindered by messed up literary elements. Reviews will also be released faster if the flow is smooth.

The reviewer does not discriminate native-tongued from secondary English speakers. Again, the review is focused on the content and plot. An overly descriptive, word-embellished fiction would not automatically yield a more favourable tasty review. The reviewer would be more engaged in stories with interesting plots. However, the posssibility of the reviewer pointing-out outline-like stories with flat  dimension should also not be eliminated.

The reviewer does not discriminate new budding authors from long-time-writing authors.

The laboratory does not  evaluate writing style, since writing style depends on the genre and the author. Likewise, the reviewer believes that writing style is proportional to the atmosphere being conveyed in the story.

Idol and all-OCs fiction are accepted, and not to be discriminated.

The reviews posted herein should not be personally compared to other ones. Every person has preferences. A more tasty review would not mean that one story was better than the other. 

LASTLY, IT'S UPON MY DISCRETION IF I WILL STOP READING AT A CERTAIN CHAPTER, DEPENDING ON HOW FAR YOU'll keep me interested. 

I CAN BE BLUNT BUT DON'T TAKE IT TO THE CORE. I JUST TAKE REVIEWING VERY SERIOUSLY. ^^
