I stared at him through the thin wet wisps of hair covering my eyes. Each second that passed, felt like a year. 

His already pale face whitened. His dark eyes grew sadder and he constantly clenched and unclenched his fists. We were pulling at each other's hearts.

"I can feel this," he hoarsely whispered. "And unless you don't have a heart - "

I barked a laugh, though it burned my dry throat. "You are not one to talk."

"Haeryung, I - "

"Save it. I can't waste any more time just waiting for you. Your confessions are meaningless. You will never take me as I am."

I left as quickly as I could and despite the fact that the rain seemed to get worse, I never felt more free.
