the water feels cold

but it soothes the pain

it numbs my heart

it erases my tears

the ripples are loud

they echo in my ears

they drum in my head

they mimic my heartbeats

or so they try

the breeze comes in

it makes me shiver

it dries my tears

it heals my wounds

and the birds sing

they serenade me

they fly around me

they make me smile

my hand reaches out

my feet push at the water

ripples form, i fly away
