Foreword

Letting out sighs of relief the six leaned against the trees for a much needed rest. They had finally–after what felt like hours, lost their perusers somewhere between the river and trees. The oldest of the bunch, after having settled on a nearby rock, turned to look at the cause of this mess. Feeling an accusatory look directed at him, the maknae turned around and locked eyes with silver ones.

"Explain." The others, having finished rearranging themselves into more comfortable positions, flinched at the tone the eldest was using. "Explain why we ran away from the guards. Which, might I remind, are there to protect you from danger."

"What danger? From the falling rain? Ohhh, how scary~ Or from a tree?" the younger mocked, He already knew where this conversation was going. He'd heard it countless times, from countless people, for countless things, he didn't need reminding.

"You know well that's not what I mean--listen to me!" the silver haired male hissed as he noticed that the younger was beginning to ignore him.

"I already know what you're going to say! I don't need reminding okay, I understand already." he growled out kicking some mud that had formed from the previous rain fall the night before.

"No. You apparently don't understand, because if you did, we'd be home. Where we would all be safe--"

"Behind the big wall, from the people that want to hurt us. Yeah, yeah," a sigh came from their yellow haired friend. "Give the kid a break. We've all been locked away behind that wall, let us live a little. Besides both you and this–" he mentioned to the red haired boy that was currently stretched across a rock, toes and fingers on either side touching the ground, "–fool are strong enough to fight whatever wonders towards us."

"He's right," the red haired boy joined in, waving his hand around as to dismiss his worries, "even then we all have other ways of fighting anything that tries to hurt us,"

"Besides it's not like it's the first time we've done this," supplied the boy sitting next to the youngest as he ruffled his black hair.

"What?!? You've done this before? You could've gotten hu--"

"Shhh," they turned to the last boy, who had a finger to his lips and was starring in the direction they had come. Confusion was evident as they listened but heard nothing that could giveaway to what the blue eyed boy was listening to. Tilting his head he looked at them, face serious, "Do you hear that?" They all shook their heads as the boy breathed out;

"Exactly."

Their reactions were immediate as years of practice kicked in and they sprung from their places. In a matter of seconds they were all in a circle, the youngest in the middle, as they tensely waited. A breaking twig was their only warning as something long and furry jumped towards them, teeth ready to bite down on them. Just before it could reach them the blue eyed boy shot his hand out. Water immediately shot from the puddles left around them and towards the unsuspecting attacker. Having been caught off guard it was hit on the side and smashed into a nearby tree.

"Whoa, that was cool! I thought you couldn't cont--"

"I can't. That's all I can do," the blue eyed boy answered, as the animal let out a growl of annoyance at getting wet. "Run," he yelled as the animal began to stand up.

"Not again," the yellow haired boy whined out, but shut up as the silver haired male sent him a glare. Grabbing both the maknaes hands, he began to lead them through the dense forest, cutting through broken trees and dodging rocks that were in the way. He looked back at the other three, before looking forward once more before cursing lowly. A fallen tree was a few feet in front of them, they wouldn't have enough time to go around, going over was their only solution. "Get ready to go over," he told the five others. Letting go of the eldest, the two maknaes moved so they weren't in the way of the silver male.

"Now!"

Six pairs of differently colored iridescent wings materialized as they jumped into the air. Wings began to flutter swiftly as they ascended into the air; quickly going over the tree. Not knowing if they were still being chased they decided to stay airborne, quickly dashing in between trees, trying to lose their attacker.

"I swear after this, no more exercise for me!" the yellow haired and now winged male hissed out as he zoomed past the red head.

"Just hope you survive this first, yeah?" the black haired boy jokingly responded.

"most certainly will! It wasn't like I was the last one on a certain test like a certain someone," he sassily replied, dodging a falling leaf.

"Hey!"

They then noticed that the silver winged fairy was starting to descend, they soon followed after, gracefully landing onto the ground one by one. Or well that was until it was the maknaes turn. He hadn't been paying attention to how close he was to the ground and had snagged his foot on an unearthed tree root. He let out a yelp as he landed wrong and proceeded to tumble and crash into a tree trunk.

"Oh man," the red head cringed as they ran over to him. They flinched as they found their friend unconscious and bleeding.

"Shouldn't have mocked the trees earlier, maknae," the black haired boy sighed out, shaking his head, "Karma's a ," he received a slap on the head for his "language" but before he could whine out they heard a gasp behind them.

Slowly turning around, they prayed for it to be the cat, but instead of they found male staring down at them. Eyes wide and mouth opened as he held a camera to his chest. Eyes focused entirely on them or rather behind them.

At their wings.

"Well ."

I don't know how this happened. I blame my sister. She was talking about Exo while I was reading one of my old creative writing assignments.

That just so happened to be about Faeries and stuff and I was all "asdfghjkl;"

I imagined sassy Chen as a fairy and that's when it hit me.

Exo!Fairy feels came out of nowhere.

So here is the result of that.

Any guesses on who the humans/faeries are?
