Twenty Four
Bloodstream [Broken Memories #1]Seulgi’s body rolls were apparently the iest out of the entire group of girls in the dance team. Hyoyeon had made her the lead in their latest routine. Competition season had passed and they had mainly been doing performances at basketball games. Seulgi had usually in the back so no one really noticed her. To be put in the front felt like she was being put into a spotlight she didn’t want to be in.
Jongin had come to her dance practice which only made her more nervous. It was even more nerve wracking than when the girls had come to watch her. Jongin had made himself out to be some sort of dance expert so she could practically feel his critical eyes watching her every move.
She tried her best to ignore the fact that he was in the room. Dancing was supposed to felt and not thought about. After an awkward beginning start, Seulgi was able to block everything out and just move to the beat of the music. Jongin wasn’t the type to laugh at her even if she messed up and got the choreography wrong. He would most likely spend time teaching her how to do it the right way.
As the music came to a stop, she began to really think about it. Jongin had never danced in front of her and she wondered if she would ever get to see him in action.
“Seulgi, your boy’s getting all up in Sehun’s face,” Min pointed out. Seulgi turned around to see Sehun and Jongin arguing.
“Is he going to kill Sehun?” a girl named Jia asked.
Seulgi let out a laugh, startling the rest of the girls. Jongin’s reputation for being an intense bad boy was still going strong. She actually found it amusing that some girls thought he would be capable of killing someone. She’d seen him snuggle up with his three dogs and a bed full of pillows. To even think about Jongin and violence put together was amusing.
“Jongin would never hurt anyone,” she said, in between spouts of laughter.
“Wait, Kai actually has a real name,” Min said, as if she had learned something new.
They couldn’t possibly have thought Kai was his real name.
“His name is Jongin and he’s actually the biggest softie ever. Sehun’s his best friend, so they’re only arguing like usual,” Seulgi explained. She definitely didn’t want them thinking that her boyfriend would go off and kill the captain of the dance team.
Even Hyoyeon seemed to be shocked by this piece of information. Seulgi hoped it would make them think twice about judging him or their relationship. However, it seemed that wasn’t even an issue. Min bounded forward with a devious grin on her face and Seulgi knew she was in for something.
“Forget all that, we want the juicy details. Is he a good kisser?” Min asked.
The other girls made noises as if they were boys in a locker room. Seulgi rolled her eyes and laughed when they quieted down.
“More than good,” she said, feeling the blood rush to her cheeks.
“Then prove it, you !” Sehun’s voice boomed from the other side of the gym.
The girls went silent and watched as Sehun the music. Jongin shrugged out of his sweater and it was then that Seulgi realized he was going to dance. She felt frozen in place as she watched him cockily swagger up to Sehun and tightened his beanie.
Then, he started.
Seulgi was transfixed by how fluid his movements were. His body moved exactly to rhythm and beat of the music. It was as if he could anticipate the next beat even without having heard the song before. He hadn’t even had a routine prepared. She watched him totally and completely give into his movements as if the song were a part of him. He interacted with the music in a way she’d never seen a dancer do before.
Not to mention he was free-styling.
The music stopped and Sehun sat on the floor, glaring at Jongin. He seemed to have been proven wrong about something. Seulgi didn’t exactly know but she did know that whatever Jongin had just proved hadn’t messed up their friendship. Jongin sat down next to him and playfully tackled Sehun who wrestled him back.
She felt the stares of all the girls and wondered why they were all looking at her.
“If you ever break up with him, can I call dibs next?” Min asked.
Seulgi gaped at her in shock. “Um, no?”
Min waved her hands hysterically. “Come on, please.”
Seulgi grabbed Min’s arms and placed them back at the girls side. “Min, you listen to me right now. I’m not going to break up with him. Ever.”
