Withering Roses
Description
Kim Jongin's life changed in all of thirty seconds. It only took fifteen seconds for him to get distracted, yelling at one of his brothers in the backseat of the car. Ten seconds for his older brother, Junmyeon, to try and warn him of the oncoming semi truck that was approaching as they sped through a red light. Five seconds for the impact. And then it was done. When he woke, two months had passed and he learned that he had lost not only his brother, but he had been left with an injury that would stay with him forever, and a broken family that seemed to be beyond repair. It was clear, at this point, that his life would never be the same.
At the request of his family, Jongin was asked to join a grief counseling program at the university he attended and, reluctantly - and after being threatened by his mother - he went, but made it fairly clear that it was the last place that he wanted to be. At least until he met a starry-eyed exchange student by the name of Lu Han.
Foreword
Author's Note:
Obviously this is set in an alternate universe of sorts, and mainly the only point that I want to make is Kyungsoo is about sixteen years-old in this story; three years younger than Jongin. Junmyeon was only a year older than Jongin. Lu Han is 21, Sehun is 17, and Minseok is 18. Everyone else's ages are true to that of the actual idol.
