Growing up in the 1900’s in America wasn’t so bad. The flag had 48 stars on it, not 50. The president was Woodrow Wilson (Democratic). A new guy named Babe Ruth just made his debut with the Boston Red Sox in July, I don’t think he will be a big hit though. I enrolled to join the army in 1916. In 1917 we entered the war to fight alongside Britain, France, and Russia. I was under the command of Major General John J. Pershing. I fought along 2 million U.S. soldiers on the battlefields in France. Germany formally surrendered on November 11, 1918. I have continued to fight for America till this day. On my 25th Birthday, in 1920, after drinking with some friends I headed back to our bunks for some rest. That is the night when my life turned upside down.
