Jongup 94

B.A.P. Oneshots III

This is for kyutecloud.

This also comes with a warning. There will be a topic that is considered uncomfortable but I didn't describe it in a graphic way at all. It's just the overarching theme, so I do recommend that you read it if you think you can handle it. It's just me exploring the darker parts of society.

“Next defendant, file 2304, Moon Jongup.”

There was a low murmur throughout the courtroom as the doors to the prisoner containment room opened and two security guards walked out. On each side of the courthouse, stood court officers, with their weapons ready and the well was closed off.

The man who walked out after the security guards had wild purple hair, dark painted lips and wild eyes. His face was white, as if powdered and there was a somewhat demented look about him as he surveyed the courtroom. His unnaturally dark lips lifted into a smirk as a man jumped from his seat.

“You bastard! You defiled my daughter’s body, you disgusting psycho! As if one wasn’t good enough, you her and destroyed her even after she was dead! You should be killed and defiled the same way you did to her!” His face was red and crying family members restrained him as the court officers took a step forward.

The defendant, Moon Jongup, blinked a little, and still with his hands in handcuffs, he lifted one shoulder and smirked. “How can it be when she couldn’t even say no?” The words came out quiet, but there was a smooth quality to them, a serpentine string of words that choked you around the neck.

“You!” this caused an uproar as the victim’s father leapt over his bench and the officers came to haul him away.

The judge banged his gravel on the podium as he shouted throughout the chaos. “Please, officers, remove this man immediately!”

“You son of a ! Die, you sick bastard, die!” he was still shouting as his cries echoed through the room and out the door. Once the screaming died down, Jongup turned calmly to face the judge.

The two lawyers shuffled nervously as the judge took a deep breath. Behind them, the courtroom was in absolute silence, each ear straining to catch what the people in the well were saying.

The arraignment went by quickly, before the judge allowed for Jongup to be sent for a psychiatric evaluation.

“I’m not crazy,” came the same silky voice that had spoken before.

“Pardon?” The judge glared at Jongup and he straightened.

            “But I’m not crazy.”

Jongup’s lawyer quickly smiled. “Your Honor, thank you for granting us with this request. I’ll make sure he attends the appointment and we will have the report back when it’s time for the next court appearance.”

            “Prison matter, 2956, Kim Himchan!”

“She couldn’t leave me. There was no way of getting a rejection from her, nor could she just leave me when she wanted.”

The psychiatrist shifted in her seat. “Have you had people do that before? Leave you after they slept with you?”

Jongup stared at a spot on the floor and he gave a noncommittal shrug. “None of them stayed.”

“But why her? Why someone already deceased?”

“I told you,” his voice was getting quieter. “She wouldn’t leave me and she wouldn’t reject me either. She had absolutely no say. I could do whatever I wanted and if she liked it, I wouldn’t know. If she didn’t, then I can just pretend she did.”

“But did you know that in Korea necrophilia is illegal?”

“I didn’t do it out of disrespect for the dead. I did it because then I could protect myself. Because I would get no feedback and then it’s all up to me.”

            “Have you done it before?”

Jongup looked up and he tilted his head back and laughed. The laughter didn’t stop until it was suddenly cut off and he snapped his neck back to stare at her. Even though she had dealt with multiple people with mental hallucinations and temperaments, he scared her.

“What I tell you here, it’s confidential, isn’t it?”

“Well, yes. However, I may testify in court and then everything needs to come out.”

The smile faded completely and he shrugged, sinking back into his chair. “Not telling you.”

“Jongup, you need to cooperate. If we can find a reason for why you did it, and that reason has to do with your mental psyche, then you wouldn’t have to spend so long in prison.”

“What’s so wrong with ing a dead person?” His voice was low, dangerous. His fingers curled over his kneecaps. “What’s wrong with that? Young girls can get their pleasure. Even old ladies can find someone hard enough to shove it up there. So why can’t the dead? Why can’t we respect that the dead may have feelings too?”

“You just told me that the reason why you did it was because she couldn’t feel.”

Jongup shrugged and the amused glimmer was back in his eyes. “Ah, I knew doctor would understand me.”

“I don’t quite agree there. I’m utterly confused.”

Jongup leaned forward and grinned. “Do you think the dead can feel?”

“I, don’t quite think so.” She was flustered. “After all, they’re dead aren’t they?”

“Well, doc, do you think you can feel when you’re dead?”

She shifted uncomfortably and her hand wandered to the telephone, wondering if it would be better to call for backup. Jongup saw the movement and shook his head. “No, no. Don’t worry. That was a hypothetical question. I wouldn’t dream of doing anything. After all, murder is less likely to be excused by psychological instability, right?”

“I think we’re done here. I think I have enough to go through with on my report. Thank you for showing up. You will be returned to custody surely after.”

Jongup cast her a look as he stood and walked towards the door. “You sure, doc? You sure you know enough?”

She nodded and it was only after the door long closed and the sound of his footsteps faded that she saw a piece of paper on the floor. “All of them.” He had written. “Every single one of them that left me. I made sure they never did it again. And then I used them so they wouldn’t be able to even though they had wanted to before. Thanks for talking to me, doc. I think I’m just a little crazy, right?”
